Quote:Originally posted by SIGNYM: Damn I was busy today! I started when I woke up and didn't stop until dinner. It was all little stuff: watering the property, dishes, writing up a grocery list, cutting hubby's hair and giving him a beard trim, walking the dog, fixing dinner, cleaning the kitchen windows.. I didn't even get a chance to order all the stuff I had planned, which was on my "to do" list for the day. Also scolded fear daughter for goofing off most of the day, and made her finish the watering. But in between I took a look at the "dry stream bead" that I dug out, ran some water in it and it's flowing appropriately. But bc it's about 3" shallower than I had hoped, I came up with an alternate way to stabilize banks and I think it's gonna look great. And one of these days I'll actually get back to working on it. ----------- "It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal." - Henry Kissinger

Trying to get a real Dr. as an Endocrinologist instead of the borderline street-doc who learned his practice back when JFK was president they stuck me with. Finger's crossed. This sensor I've got is janky as hell too. Two mornings in a row now it fell beyond low only to shoot right back up again like nothing happened. This time it told me I fell to 41mg/dL from 130 in 15 minutes, and I was still 128 according to the finger prick. Sure enough, 15 minutes later my readings were back up over 130 on the sensor. At least this sensor isn't just flat out crapping out and saying "sensor error" for a half hour to an hour at a time like the last one did. But I can't trust it at all for legitimate readings. I'm going to need to get more testing strips. I didn't even use any for nearly 40 days while the first 4 working sensors did their thing, except to very occasionally test that they were matching up. I've burned through about 25 of them since last Thursday with these two bunk sensors though. These both came from the same lot number, so maybe there was a problem with the batch. At least, I hope that's what's happening here. -------------------------------------------------- Growing up in a Republic was nice... Shame we couldn't keep it.

You have a sensor and an amplifier in there somewhere to produce a readable signal. One thing I've seen that makes a sensor/amplifier unit crap out is bad grounding or broken ground line. Well, that's not the case with your sensor bc it's not grounded, but it DOES use the battery as a voltage reference as well as a power source. Sometimes all it takes is cleaning the battery contacts bc if they build up a little corrosion it throws in a resistance that the unit wasn't designed for. If it's a normal AA or AAA battery(ies) just spinning them in place will often do the trick. If you have a button battery you might need to take it out and clean both the battery and the contacts with a paper towel. If that doesn't work, try changing the battery.
Quote:The other possibility is an intermittent contact. Are there any "wired" connections between the sensor and the monitor? Sometimes just unplugging and plugging back in a few times can clean off the contacts.

It is useful tho that it happened before you injected, at least you can rule that out. that data dropping out tho, does really seem like an intermittent broken or partial connection. or, it could just be the sensor.

Quote: I find the trick to pulling weeds is just practice. You probably have different weeds around you than I do. You just get a feel for which ones need which pulling technique, and you probably couldn't even explain to somebody in written word what that even means since you just get a feel for it.
Quote:Yeah. Numbers are pretty great overall right now. I think my body is adjusting to the low amount of carbs I'm feeding it too since I'm still fairly high energy most times of most days.
