Don't know if anyone's thought of or mentioned this yet, but is anyone else looking forward to the sheer comedic brilliance of seeing the Serenity trailer on Fox? I mean, I know many of us aren't even WATCHING Fox

at this point, but still - the absolute joy of seeing a preview for a movie that we will make a success, being broadcast on the network that killed the show it is based on. That thought makes me

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Poetic justice indeed if Fox airs the trailer for the movie. I bet some of those Fox execs are scratching their heads wondering how much money 'Versal will be bringing in w/ the BDM.

Show it in reverse? We'll be lucky if they don't tell 'Versal they don't like it and want it to be redone so they can fit it into their slot.

I can see it now:

Some FOX exec is sitting with the Board of Dumbass Directors, and the trailer is screened for them in their private auditorium.

At the end, the exec looks around, and says "Hmm, a bunch of folks scraping a living in a ship through the galaxy, a couple of former army buddies, a doctor and his sister on the lam, a wise cracking pilot, a preacher, a gun-toting muscle brain, a cute girl mechanic, and a space whore... you know, this might make a good TV series..."

The other idiots on the board nod.

"Think we can re-tool it a bit, maybe have them give a diary confessional at the end of each episode, video tape them getting attacked my space animals?"

At this point, I figure Fox will air it if they're paid enough, cuz that's all they're really interested in is short term profits.

I do wonder what they (as in 'Versal/Joss/TPTB) will do with the trailer as far as structure and content. Personally, I do not want it to be like the majority of trailers, lately, that completely give away the majority of the movie. The trailer for Bourne Supremacy was probably the best trailer I've seen in years. Not only did it not give away the story (much), but it actually misled you, using dialogue and scenes out of context to give you the wrong impression. If they do that kind of work, I'll love it!

But hey, that's just me...

Personally I still plan on flipping the channel or turning the tv off entirely anytime a Serenity preview comes on. I like to be as spoiler free as possible for movies I actually care about.

Though it is going to be fun when the BDM is a success and Fox has to air commercials for the very thing they're missing out on.

Sorry I haven't been around, work is nuts (they FINALLY signed my contract!!) and school is crazy (the campus is closing in July, so they've upped the hours, I'm in school two weekdays and all day Saturday, plus projects and such, to get done before July... oy...).

I must say, it WOULD be funny as hell if they had done one episode (ONE eipsode) as a parody of reality series like The Real World or Survivor or somesuch... like the musical episode of Buffy...

And I will demand my money back and boycott the film.

I REALLLLLLY hate "bait and switch", where the trailer lies to you, shows scenes not in the movie, etc etc..

Case in point ? The movie "Black Moon Rising".
The car was in just about EVERY scene in the trailer, and presented in a way that suggested it was a major part of the movie.

Anyone who's seen the movie knows that was anything but the case, thus, I spent my hard earned cash on a movie based on a LIE, was rooked, robbed, stolen from, in essence, and I hold a grudge.

I'd prefer that they don't "give anything away" in the trailer, but if they lie to me, or feel they NEED to lie to me, to get me to see this movie ? much as I love the series, I will walk right out on it... Joss shouldn't be stooping to that level.
