And most importantly at the SAG awards:

Best ensemble

Can you imagine all the BDH going up on stage to collect that?

I'm sure those will be included for the MTV Movie Awards.

I think Serenity would be Best Adapted Screenplay, since it's based on a television show. After all, sequels are considered adaptations because they are based on previously introduced characters. Now that the people who vote ever actually read the material that's being adapted.

You're forgetting: Serenity is a sci-fi movie. SF being a genre that the Academy fails to regard as being as serious and respectable as "Cartoons," which is to say not at all.

*is miffed that all the nominated animated films were only nominated because they didn't look like they were animated*

Sadly, our BDM has to go up agains Fantastic Four, Star Wars, Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy and any other Special effects Sci-fi flick for techie awards :(

well it is true Serenity will be up against a lot of big budget sci-fi...
but I'll bet not a one will have the writing that Joss gives us...
I would like to see Joss Whedon nominated for his screenplay
(I don't care if it is original or adaptation of the TV show...either way is good)

dear god i hope star wars doesn't beat serenity for effects. now don't get me wrong, i love star wars (although george lucas has clearly lost his mind), but firefly looked better than ep 1 or 2 and it's a freaking tv show. so psyched to see big-ass serenity:) too sick to form coherent thoughts...talk amongst yourselves...
