5. Great hotels w/ Samantha Brown. The Travel Channel is great. I like this show quite a bit. Samantha Brown is so funny.

4. Animal x. Seraches for legendary animals/creatures. Last week the search was for Bigfoot. Can't wait to see tonights episode.

3. Monster Garage. Not nearly as good as it used to be, but still enjoyable.

2. At the movies w/ Ebert, and Roeper. I'm a movie junkie, so this show is always great.

1. Iron Chef. This is one great show. My favorite hour of television. Japanese culture, and cuisine come together perfectly. Not to be cofuused with Iron Chef America, which is just plain ridiculous. Not to sound anti- Ametrican, but where The Japanese Iron Chef prepares works of art from Codfish, and Snapper eels. Iron Chef America usually consists of the same age old Amercan dishes. Beef, Chicken, peppers, and deep frying. Yech!

So do you have 5 favorite TV shows? Please explain if you have time.

Battlestar Galactica !!!!! I'm a married woman but I'm also a Starbuck groupie *swoon* Actually, a Starbuck / Apollo sandwich sounds right tasty.

Hamish MacBeth - BBC America: Loch Dubh is a great village and I'm moving there as soon as I can figure out how to live inside the TV.

Smallville. Being from Cleveland (the *real* birthplace of Superman) I'm an addict of all things Kryptonic. Tom Welling is worth hundreds of viewing hours.

Firefly. Whadaya mean it's cancelled? I'm still watching.

Anything with Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen. So pretty and so talented.

1. Lost - just call me Mr. Obvious. Seems several people like this show.

2. Alias - didn't start watching until this year; gettin' a bit hooked, I must say.

3. Boston Legal - I hate typical lawyer shows. This is far from typical.

4. (Don't laugh...) Desperate Housewives - my wife loves that I like this show.

5. Umm... I think that may be it. Am I actually only watching four shows right now? Wow. Of course, with baseball season starting, I guess I could put that in this slot. Except it's not just one show.

Ooh. Baseball Tonight. That's a show.

Woohoo! I got five! FIVE! Cheer with me!

Um, i'm really thinking here...I'll just flip thru the tivo list...
BSG

Fifth Gear
South Park
Enterprise -- it is the end after all, can't miss the end.

Looks like I need to check out the tv guide for new shows. I work most evenings....anyone have any suggestions?

STARRBABY

South Park
Family Guy
Simpsons
A Baby Story (you know, where they pop one out on TV.)
Friends reruns

I know it's not the most grown up or sophisticated of lists, but I get my news, weather, and other stuff like that off the net. I watch TV just for fun.

1. Anything on Adult Swim...particularly Robot Chicken, Tom goes to the Mayor, and Sealab 2021. Pretty much anything on Cartoon Network too.

2. X-Play on G4techtv...I'm a gamer girl, and I like the hosts. Plus, their reviews are pretty on the money most of the time.

3. Jeopardy...I like to feel smart. S-M-R-T.

4. The Simpsons...Still classic after all these years.

5. Ok, I'll admit it...I'm still a sucker for some reality shows. I watch: Survivor, The Starlet, America's Top Model, American Idol, The Contender, and Real World/Road Rules The Inferno. (I'm so ashamed.....)

You know it's just G4 again, right? All the techTV shows have been removed...all except our beloved Adam and Morgan that is.

Sigh. I'm a techTV snob, sorry.

I'm hoping Doctor Who (starts tonight in Canada) will knock one of them out of there.

1) Lost
2) House
3) Battlestar Galactica
4) 24
5) Tie between Alias, West Wing, and both Stargates.

That's all I've been watching lately. #5 is a tossup because I wouldn't particularly care if any went off the air at the end of this season. I'd miss #'s 1-4.

I'm feelin' ya', baby girl. I really loved the old Screensavers. For those who don't know, it used to be all about computers.

But, I don't see how anyone can fail to be impressed with a web server running on a thumb drive inserted up a guy's rectum by a licensed proctologist ( http://www.yourassgotserved.com). That is freakin' brilliant!

And how can you not like the gentle geek, Kevin Rose, and his real life S.O., Sarah Lane? So what if she gets more locks and BSODs than anyone else on the show. Now that KR is getting more familiar with Kevin Perreira, their patter is getting much better, too.

I love Perreira's relentless bashing of Sarah's utterly lame "Gems of the Internet" regular feature. My favorite was one she prefaced by saying, "You know, I suffer from penis envy... Not because they're cute and fun to play with, but you know..." (it was a website selling a device that allows women to pee standing up, like a guy). This stuff is pure uber-geek genius. And the look on KP's face was priceless; he was like speechless, and that never happens. He's always got a snappy/snide comeback brewing, and you could just see it on his face: "I've got nowhere I can go with this without getting fined by the FCC and hate mail from every women's organization in the country."

Of course, now it's called "Attack of the Show"; the "Screensavers" title got flushed. When they did the name changeover, Sarah did a 'man on the street' straw poll, asking "How do you like the new name?" All the interviewees they showed on the taped segment were either in the "Huh?" or the "WTF?!?" camp.

The show's hosts are not taking themselves too seriously, which is a refreshing change...

Unapologetically,

zoid

P.S.
I'm definitely checking out "The Whip Set" when it premieres on 10 April, too. I could care less about custom cars; but, the girls on the promo, particularly the one who starts the car by 'bumping back', has piqued a purely academic interest in me. (EDIT: Okay, so scratch the 'purely'. And the 'academic'. Substitute with 'primitive heterosexual'. There. That's about right.)

Hey, you stole my list! Dangit, you leave your list unlocked for a few minutes...

I'm glad someone mentioned Dead Zone; some seriously good writing. Thanks for SG-1, even though it was better on Showtime.

In case you have to mention one non-scifi show, I'd take Faking It on TLC.

I've got Sky+ (think Tivo) and so I basically just watch what I have taped on series link. So that is:

1. Doctor Who
2. Desperate Housewives
3. 24

Hmm. That's a short list. Although lots of British shows have a run of just a few weeks so I can't call them 'regulars' as such. I'd include a few other shows currently not on the air such as Joan of Arcadia, QI, Have I Got News For You, er, well. Damn. I need to find some more favourite shows. Smallville has gone from a good watch to just average (not enough Chloe!), the West Wing has dropped in quality too. Oh, the Gilmore Girls, I enjoy that.

Yeah, add Gilmore Girls and QI to my list.

Gilmore Girls
Battlestar Galactica
Stargate & Atlantis

ummm....those are pretty much the only shows I watch on TV. I'm catching up on Farscape via Netflix since I never got to see that when it was actually on.

(edit)Oh, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which I don't get but do sometimes get to see at friends' places. Ted has to go straight and marry me and Thom needs to decorate my house.

Packer fans welcome.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

Top 5 shows I've been watching.....

1. Battlestar Galactica - I wasn't key on the idea of Starbuck being a chick, but her character is frackin awesome!

2. Lost - The best I've seen in a while, only they kinda screwed the fans by playing so many reruns over and over between new episodes. Great character development, but I fear they have no real clue of where the story is going...and all the build up will end up in Matrix fashion. We shall see.

3. 24 - Surprisingly graphic. Some episodes almost come right out of a Tom Clancy novel.

4. Angel - Yeah, I know they're re-runs, but I was late to watching that show the 1st time.

5. Extreme Make over: Home edition - Hard to watch an episode and not get choked up.

THESOMNAMBULIST

Interesting I don't really watch TV anymore. I tend to buy DVD's of a show and watch that at my leisure - the whole 'next week on...' thing I can't deal with anymore.

However there are show's that if I switch on the tele I'll maybe sit down with a cup of tea and watch.

Scrapheap Challenge Always fun, and has that real spirit of invention about it. I like this.

Natural world The BBC make great natural world documentaries - always enjoyable (Except there's too much air time given to lions!)

Rick Stein or any other cookery programme. Good ones though, not these reality chef trial thingy's.

Formula 1 Actually this is maybe the only thing I come close to making a point of watching whenever it's on. Although there are some venues that just don't entertain.

cartoon network well it's research mostly, but if there's a Tex Avery one on, then so much the better.

That's from TV over here in UK.

CYBERSNARK

Five shows. Let's see here. . .

Just on Friday nights, I have:

SD Gundam Force (now seemingly over for the season)
Enterprise (for whatever's left, I'm in for the duration)
Justice League Unlimited
Gundam Seed
InuYasha
.Hack//Sign (which just started last week, completely unexpectedly and unnecessarily [they could've aired WHR reruns or a full-hour InuYasha, but instead they sprang for a completely new animé which has never before aired in Canada]. YTV is the best network in Canada!!! I am their b*tch.)

Then there's:
TMNT
The Batman
MegasXLR (all three on Teletoon, which sucks harder than Fox [episodes out of order, endless rerun cycles, missing episodes, randomized timeslots, etc])
Battlestar Galactica
The Collector (now done for the season)
Malcolm in the Middle
Medium
NCIS
Jeremiah (new to me)
Gilmore Girls
Stargate SG-1 (season 8)

Stargate Atlantis would be on the list, but I'm in Canada and have no movie network.

Yeah, I watch too much TV. But then I'm a writer, so I consider it research/education. And reassurance. If other people can make a living doing stuff like that, then there's no real reason I can't. Just gotta get in the door.

BLACKOUTNIGHTS

Thanks to World of Warcraft and books my TV time has been severely limited. However, these are the shows I make it a point not to miss, and to videotape if I can't watch during broadcast (actually, I prefer videotaping and watching later even if I can make the broadcast. Cuts about 15 minutes off the viewing time fastforwarding through commercials, and I can pause to get food, etc, etc).

I'm not going to number these because I enjoy them all.

Joan of Arcadia — tremendous, tremendous. GREAT writing with a lesson in each episode. SUPERB acting, and usually EXCELLENT directing and visuals. TV at its finest every Friday night.

Survivor — I'm almost ashamed to admit it. I get a kick out of this show and Big Brother. Plus it's easy to bail if I don't like the contestants. Nothing particularly brilliant about these shows, TV for TV.

Rescue Me — It's been almost a year since season one. But I've been anxiously awaiting season two.

The 4400 – Interesting premise last season. I don't particularly like the reason given behind the 4400's return, but oh well. The show has promise, and I'll tune in for season two especially considering our very own Summer Glau will play a part.

And finally, games from the NFL. I'm a big football fan. Great sport. The April 23 draft and my big party (ok, smal gathering) is almost here!
