So...just sitting at my desk, waiting for Friday to be over..and suddenly, I realized what today is. It's the season premiere of Stargate(s) tonight! Yippee! The only thing I've been diggin' on tv lately is Hex on BBC America. Everything else ( well, Meerkat Manor is pretty cool ) is pretty much a brain drain.

Anyone else happy about this???

Oh, I am more than ready! One thing the Gates don't disappoint with are their cliffhangers. Although I'll be working for the first airing of SG1, so I'll catch it again after Atlantis.

I set the Tivo to do my viewin' today. Though I have it on dvd, still need to register my Firefly support.

Happy Girl...Firefly, Stargate...Gosh, what's next? A midnight visit from Sean Bean? Wow, wouldn't that make the day complete.

I tried to sign up today on their bboard, but got a bunch of gobbeldy-gunk in the confirmation email. I'll try again. Anyhoo,

Stargate! Firefly! Stargate! Sean Bean! Firefly!

Edit: Think I've got Sharpe on my mind, too.

I noticed that the last time they did a Firefly marathon, it was at the season finale of Stargate Atlantis (which, btw is one of the only other shows that I watch faithfully).

Didn't they do one for the Super Bowl too (or were Penny Arcade lieing to us non-US Sci Fi people )

Rather than saying how much I hate you Americans with your Sci-Fi channel that actually owns broadcast rights to stuff (as opposed to rerun or syndication rights), I'll just remind everyone in general to observe spoiler protocols.

SG-1 probably won't start here in Canada 'til October.

And the Ori only know if we'll get Atlantis S2.

I'm looking forward to it, too!

Sorry, Cybersnark. I feel for ya. Although, I have to admit that I'm not thinkin' S2 of Atlantis is worth much (sorry). I hope that S3 is better.

Does it have McKay in it?

DESKTOPHIPPIE

I used to love Stargate, but I've lost touch with it the last few years. I think it was the interaction between the four main characters that made the show. The original foursome of course, Sam, Tealc, Jack and Daniel.

It was never as good as Firefly, but it seemed to know that and was happy not to take itself too seriously. Plus I think the actors and writers deserve major kudos for their attention to detail with the characters. There were so many little things they slipped in that made me smile - Jack playing with things in the background, Tealc watching 'Star Wars' nine times, little details like that. It really made you feel like you were getting to know them over the years.

yes, and David Hewlett's the one good thing about season two, IMHO.

On the plus side, it was not bad. Not as good as SG-1, but not bad. At least this one had humor...

Feel sorry for us over here in the UK - No new SG1, Atlantis, or Battlestar till at least January. On top of that Firefly only airs over here once in blue moon (or sun! Lol)

At least we have the DVD's
