So, a while back my friends went on vacation and I watched their dog......and tped their apartment.

This last week I went to vegas and one of them left a day later than the rest of us. She got my key from the person watching my cat and rearranged my apartment.

Now she's leaving for a week. What kind of ideas can we think of for her room. Come on browncoats are creative.

Note: this is only for one bedroom. I don't know her roommate all that well so I'm not trying to get any revenge on her.

I wouldn't suggest you actually do this, but the funniest one I ever heard was a disgruntled wife who sprayed a carpet with water - just very lightly - and then covered it with watercress seeds. Hubbie came home a few days later to find wifey had discovered his affair and his most expensive carpet was now a lawn.

can you hang everything upside down? It might take some ingenuity if it's not going to do any damage...

Or you could re-arrange bookshelves... add some new titles... shortsheet the bed or put some old Star Wars or other embarassingly young-kiddish bedding on it. Leave it looking immaculate except for the changes... definitely don't mess things up - that's just annoying and immature...

So there!

But seriously - think of putting up posters of someone she dislikes and doesn't understand everyone elses obsession with - a cricket player or dodgy teen actor... Put a coloured globe in the light fitting and colour coordinate everything in the room!

I like me wicked streak...

Put a Firefly Box Set DVD(or Serenity which ever you can afford,hell I'd get both) on her bed rested against her pillow tucked in slightly with a big pink(whatever color she likes) bow tied round the DVD(s).

Replace all the photos with photos of you. See how long it takes her to notice. Magdalena's poster idea is great too. I did that on my Manchester United loving brother - swapped all his posters for Liverpool ones. His reaction was priceless.

Get a bunch of paper Dixie cups, enough to cover the entire floor, every inch must be covered or this won't work, then fill the cups with about 2 cm of water in them all.

Make sure you leave enough room for the door to swing, but that's it! Sit back and enjoy.

well, does she have a pirvate bathroom or a common one shared with the roomie?

if it's private, here's one my Uncle pulled on one of is golf buddies a few years ago:
you will need:
1 wrench
1 easter egg dye tablet(preferably orange)

remove shower head.
insert dye tablet into head( resting on the little screen)
replace shower head.

next time they use that shower it will dye their skin the color of the tablet. (orange is the best. they don't usually notice the difference untill they are in sunlight!)

--Replace all of her undergarments with superhero underoos.
--Buy a toothbrush that looks just like hers, and take pics of you scrubbing the toilet, tub & floor with it. Give her the pics a few days after her return.
--Itching powder in her sheets, clothes press, wherever.
--Put new laces on her shoes. Bright/rainbow ones on her 'serious' shoes, and sedate formal ones on her trainers.
--Make her bed, wrap dental floss around the head of the bed (across the mattress, down the side, under the bed, up the other side, across the matress...) so that it is (prefferably) hidden by the pillow fold in the bedspread, or under the pillows if they aren't all nice and tucked under. When she tries to turn down her bed, it just won't happen until she figures it out.
-- a bit of raw fish in the globe of her overhead light fixture should stink the place up nicely once the light is turned on. Limburger(sp?) cheese works well also.
-- reusable ice blocks frozen solid, then placed in her sheets just before she comes home.

I've only had one successful prank in my life - short sheeting my friend's bed, and it only worked because he's so neat and makes his bed everyday, so it looked normal.

The best prank I ever heard of was from Scott Adams' Joy of Work book - this manager was always messing up his laptop, so some guy took a lot of time and changed every single sound effect to that part from "When Harry Met Sally"...with the volume turned all the way up. The story finishes by telling us that the manager was so flustered it took him half an hour to turn off his laptop and escape.

hehe I knew turning to the browncoats was a great idea.

I love the replacing all the pictures with pictures of me, the toothbrush one, and the easter egg dye one. That I might need to special order though cause I doubt any stores have them right now. I'll take pictures once all this is done and put them on flickr for everyone

Some other ones I'm thinking of are glitter on the fan blades of her ceiling fan. So, when she first turns it on her room will get a nice glitter shower. Also filling her whole bathroom with balloons (also filled with glitter)

Get one of those steam cleaners or paint strippers. Turn it on till the windows are steamy and covered. Then in soapy water and a clothdraw mucky pictures on window.

Itll look fine till a lamp shines on it!!!

Other bathroom one. Buy some sodium Hydroxide tablets (dunno where u get em) put em in toilet.

When she has a tinkle itll foam up her flue!!

absolutely love the glitter idea, but you should probably use the stuff with the bigger ribon like pieces that way it will be easy to pick up if you drop any putting it on the fan. it'll probably make it harder to vacum up too if its bigger pieces.

Rearrange all the drawers in the kitchen (dishes, silverware, etc). There's nothing like having to hunt for things in your own kitchen. Take out all the drawers in the dressers, turn them upside down while holding the clothes in) and replace them so when someone pulls them open all the items fall out. Switch the contents of all the closets around. This one's a little cruel: take a picure of the inside of their medicine cabinet and post it on the internet.

BTW--LOVE the picture one. I'll have to file that one away for future use.

LOL!!! You guys - I love the ideas - I think I should write a book and get all my Browncoat Buddies to contribute - it'd be a best seller at schools all over the world!

If you just get soap and write stuff on her window or bathroom mirror it is virtually invisible until the room steams up - you don't have to steam anything that way - dry soap works well!

You could also hide one each of all her earrings... that would drive her nuts!!
