I've thought this same thing about almost every movie that's come out in the past two years.

But, BloodRayne is living proof that the only thing you need for a successful movie, is a hot redhead. It doesn't matter if she can act. Put her in a tight leather outfit, every pubescent teenager within a 50 mile radius will come to watch.

Let my spirit rise, Valkiries carry me.
Take me to Valhalla where my brothers wait for me.
Fires burn into the sky, my spirit will never die.

But... Serenity had this!

How come every pubescent teenager within a 50 mile radius didn't come to see her?

*wonders what it'd take to get Kaylee to dye her hair red*

Of course, you know Joss would do this, for all of one scene that has nothing to do with anything in the movie, just so it could be plastered all over all the advertising and posters. . .

Hmmm... not so sure Jewel would be willing to dye her hair.

Then again, maybe she would.

Because most pubescent teenage boys aren't like me.

A 98 pound girl that can beat the crap out of me? Yes please.

What a relief to find out this thread isn't about wanting a sequel to that... drivel.

I'm afraid to say I watched it. But that's an hour and a half of my life I want back with interest.

I have to admit, though, that Kristanna Loken is easy on the eyes but I feel confidant in saying that she has never been accused of being an actress.

How does Uwe Boll continue to be able to make whatever garabage he wants and pass it off as a movie? Especially when excellent movies such as Serenity have to actually make money to earn a sequel.

Alert 13. Uwe Boll is at it again. That SOB must be but out of our misery. He must really be talin' it from someone high up to have the chance to waste peoples lives to the utmost.

But what can we do to stop it?

Re: hot red-heads being necessary for successful movies

They could always put Christina Hendricks (Saffron) in the sequel...

Bloodrayne 2 exists because Mr Boll (ab)uses a German legal loophole as follows:

Quote:

Boll is able to acquire funding thanks to German tax laws that reward investments in film. The law allows investors in German-owned films to write off 100% of their investment as a tax deduction; it also allows them to invest borrowed money and write off any fees associated with the loan. The investor is then only required to pay taxes on the profits made by the movie; if the movie loses money, the investor gets a tax writeoff.

The long and short of it is if he makes a movie which makes a loss he gets money for it. he buys the rights for very little money and makes a terrible movie which still makes him money.

The difference between Mr Boll and Mr Whedon is that there is no such loophole in America, so Joss makes serenity which doesn't make much money leaving no incentive for anyone to pay for a sequel. Life's a bitch.
