Joss, for his own reasons, wanted it moved to the end and even refilmed one scene to try to make it fit, but all the references to River in the 4 episodes are completely out of whack if OiS is put last and since the refilmed scene OiS doesn't fit anywhere now. I LOVE Firefly but what Joss did with OiS bugs the shit out of me! "...we're still flyin'." "That's not much." "It's enough." Malcolm Reynolds and Simon Tam - Serenity

Quote:The other one is in Out of Gas, with the ship-wide "Life Support Failure" warning being repeated in Cantonese, rather than Mandarin. Unless Serenity was built and meant to be used in an area which was predominantly Cantonese, this wouldn't make sense.

The the blooper is in "Objects in Space" when Jayne appears so surprised "you mean she really reads minds?!?! I don't like the idea of people knowin' what I'm thinking!" RIVER Purple elephants are flying. MAL Good. Thanks for the update.

The second time we see Jayne's hat covered with shipping 'hay' is when he is breaking down the crate, also filled with shipping 'hay'. If you notice, he is tearing the wood to tiny pieces and they shipping 'hay' is all about him. I know this to be true because I have watched this episode many, many times. Of course, I could be wrong.

Watch her, a jeep passes by her quite slowly and she doesn't notice and walks right into it, baby's head first !

Quote:I saw that as well, but I figured it was not the true mule locomotion but instead an extra bit help to steady the mule and stop it at an exact spot, so that it was properly framed for the camera shot. Interestingly, it only is visible in the bottom right hand corner when playing the DVD on my PowerBook. if I play the DVD on my TV, then that blooper in the corner is not visible (probably my cheap TV screen).

Quote:Actually, the problem would not have been with the film, but with your projectionist. There is a lot more information that is caught on a film than is intended to be seen. When a film is projected it's intended to be "framed" in such a way so you only see as much as the filmmaker intended. Just as if you were watching a film where the projectionist framed the film too tightly and cut of folk's heads. Roger Ebert harps on this fairly regularly.

Quote:Originally posted by soundhack: I thought it was that too at first. But there's another problem. If the debris was 'blown out' of the cargo bay, wouldnt it still be moving outwards with respect to Serenity? It couldnt all of a sudden stop with respect to the ship, since there is no friction or any force stopping it. Quote:Originally posted by SpikeSpiegel: Not exactly a blooper, but laughable: Before the DVDs came out, one of my fave, most-remembered scenes was Shindig, Mal just stabbing Atherton for the sheer malice of it. But watching it on DVD a couple times, I eventually noticed that where they show Mal stabbing him ... two or three times ... it's SO obvious the blade isn't even breaking the fabric of Atherton's clothing. I don't need to see a lot of blood in my TV (though I HATE when people get stabbed/slashed and the blade comes out totally clean), but if you're gonna do a closeup of someone getting stabbed, rig the freakin' effect right ... (or would this be the third time I've posted today and turned out to have remembered wrongly?) "Bang."

Quote:Originally posted by Thrawn: And another problem - we see later in the episode that, just before Mal falls down to the floor of the cargo bay, the other ship is still there. The episode opens with a shot of Serenity with nothing anywhere nearby. The two exterior shots should take place at exactly the same moment in time, but they're very different.
