You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Previous bar http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=29668 in which we lamented Deathly Hallows not coming out on Lucky Sevens, discussed some theories, dropped some spoilers, and drank some butterbeer.
Carry on.

I'm sure you will manage it one day Emma never fear, I have only achieved it once myself but given my lack of dancing ability this is possibly not such a bad thing.

Not to mention that my eyes are burning and I feel weird... though it could be coz I haven't slept in 28 hours...

Wow thank you guys - it's good to know I am loved! *waves to gee and Emma* I have a jug and glass of water here with me... I am thirsty too which makes me think it's allergy - mind you I do get sinus and hayfever, but this is more... itchy and annoying rather than debilitating!

And hot! ... with itchy eyes...

Oh from the last thread:

I actually saw on the news tonight that the publisers are taking legal action and attempting to delete webstites that breach the copywrite, or force 'host websites' to remove the offending portions of the book... apparently there is at least one place where there is a page by page photograph of the entire book already! I don't think they'd bother taking legal action if it weren't the book itself... I just don't want to know - I am going to enjoy this weekend snuggling up with my book and my hot chocolate and my mobile (to text people in my excitement!) I do not want anything spoiled for me at all!

So I think I will have something really strong and sure to knock me out tonight! A large half Jamesons, half Baileys I think!!

I am really bad at remembering to drink enough at work (makes note to go get a drink after this post).

I am hiding from the world with my book on Sat, which is going to be a problem as the old man is coming to do some plastering in the kitchen so I can finish prep on the walls and paint during my week off next week. Invision lost of:
can you just give me a hand?
No I'm busy

But ... is happening!
I don't have to be there
I know, I'm coming *feels embaressed as should be helping anyway*

No Gee... yours is a completely reasonable and understandable reaction... I would be torn, for instance, if VerseExplorer told me she was arriving a week earlier than anticipated... although I know I would embrace the joy of having her here and would totally immerse myself in her visit, I would be fretting and worrying that someone would tell me something 'spoilerish' or that I would be the last to know something about someone who has been an important part of my life for so long now! (even if he is fictitious!!) So I am very grateful that VerseExplorer isn't arriving until the following weekend, and I will still know what's happened to my dear Harry and all this friends and Wizarding family around the same time as everyone else does!

Yeah!

The main thing is that I want to find out on my terms reading the book, I hate it when twists are revealed as you only ever get the chance to get that experience of discovery, sure I will re-read the book straight away and pick up details I have missed but I would want to kill anyone who told me the details. It's a very selfish thing to do and I have never understood those who think it is funny although of course I try not to bore people who aren't interested with details so they don't do it out of retribution but I would be mortified if I did accidentally. My other half will ask me as she will read it eventually bit not that bothered and even when she has asked explicitly I would probably only tell her after a couple checks because I hate doing it.

Hmm, that got away from me a little didn't it!

yeah... I just don't understand that... the boys I nanny haven't got up to Half Blood Prince yet but they keep asking me "does this happen? Does that person turn out to be this... or that?" I keep saying why would you want to know before you've read the book? And their answer is always "Xander told me and I want to know if he's telling the truth..." I want to give Xander a kick in the pants, except that he's such a sweet and ernerst kid...

I think I would throttle someone who told me the outcome before I had taken that journey for myself... I saw a young girl asked on the news today if she'd like to know what happens and she said "No, I want to enjoy reading the book... you only get to read it for the first time once you know!" From the mouths of babes...

EDIT: Sorry everyone... I didn't get any sleep last night and I am wrecked so I am going to bed... have a good one and hope to catch up again soon!

I'd believe it, because Half-Blood Prince got leaked too (I have a friend who innocently clicked a link to a pic of some zoomed-in text, describing a certain person doing something to a certain other person on top of a tower, near the end of the book, and it ruined it for them).

Get some rest. Magda dear. *glomps you into bed*

The thing is, Emma, that I was just posting that there were spoilers for previous books in the NY Times articles:

Select to view spoiler:

They mentioned Dumbledore's death twice, and Sirius' once. Tsk Tsk.

I was also going to post that they wrote something that defined the title of the book, and it had a warning in big, bold letters, like such:

DON'T READ THIS IF YOU ARE GOING TO WHINE ABOUT SPOILERS FOR BOOK 7. IT ISN'T ANYTHING MAJOR, JUST A DEFINITION OF WHAT THE WORDS 'DEATHLY HALLOWS' IN THE BOOK'S TITLE MEAN:

Select to view spoiler:

The Deathly Hallows are apparently 3 magical items, and whomever controls them can Master Death. Harry has to pick whether to go after them, or the other Horcruxes.

The writer of the article also compares Harry to King Arthur, Spider-Man, and Luke Skywalker, and the magical world he lives in is apparently on level with Oz and Middle Earth. :)

Hey LA *hugs* I had a response to your PM on the 76 board in progress, but it too was lost in the power outage. Working on version 0.2 right now.

I think they would. They've gotten anal as hell about fanfic in the past, and consider anything that uses the name Harry Potter as a copyright breach. I don't see how anyone could have gotten a copy to take pictures of, but I fully believe that someone could have photoshopped the pages, printed out a book cover, and written an entire version of Deathly Hallows themselves. Months ago there was a similar 'leak' of 'Harry Potter and the Seventh Horcrux' which, obviously, was not the book. It was a long and elaborate fanfic.
I guess we'll find out when those who have downloaded it read the actual book and say whether it's the same or not. Until then, I don't buy that someone could have gotten ahold of the book (and if they had that they would spread it around in the hopes of ruining it for other fans, but maybe that's naive of me) or lifted the manuscript with a virus.
I am groggy and cranky and had weird, weird dreams. Morning all!

mornin' Rose.

I am reading online that there is an issue in Isreal with the books' release, because if come on the Sabbath, and Orthodox lawmakers are mad that they are making people work to be able to sell the book.

I also read that the "hacker" who used a "virus" to get it from employee's e-mail accounts was motivated by the words of the Pope. Huh.

Scholastic claims that they are trying to remove all material that is supposedly from the book, whether it is authentic or not.

Rowling is furious at the NY Times for their posting of several spoilerish type passages in it's review that I referenced above (I will not repeat said spoilers here). Apparently, though, there was a US distributor that sent out a couple hundred copies of the book already.

I'd have to cut back on the junk food though, or I'm doomed forever to wear big pants! I'm out of control at the moment! So far today I have eaten 2 packets of crisps, a BIG bag of maltesers and a packet of jelly babies and now I'm starting on a pot of pasta salad.
