Firefly the musical episode...

can you imagine...

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

In a recent interview Joss said that Firefly didn't lend itself to a musical episode, so it'll have to be in our imaginations only.

Sounds like a sure way to ruin Firefly..(Imo)

As Joss himself has said "Firefly doesnt lend itself to a musical".

Yeah, Firefly just wouldn't work as a musical.

Now, a shadow-puppet play, OTOH. . .

im not open to the idea

BUT

if it were to happen it should be like "objects in space" where instead of River hearing peoples thoughts she is hearing their inner song. SO you can have River looking a crew members and they start singing and dancing when really they are just sitting there doing nothing.

KAYNA

I love my captain

I'm with Wytch on this. It would be a horrible idea for an actual episode but it's still kind of fun to think about.

Outlaw, I like your idea. And of course, River is the only character in there that could get away with dancing for real. Just dancing along with the music she hears.
I can't really see River singing though. It just doesn't seem to fit. No dancing Mal either. For some reason, I'd like to see Jayne with a big musical number. Lots of singing and dancing for the man-ape gone wrong thing.

Op: You're fighting a war you've already lost.
Mal: Yeah, well I'm known for that.

Jayne has done some singing. But a musical. That is a different horse. Joss did it with Buffy.

What I would like to see is Jayne actually have to take command of Serenity. Where Jayne actually has to make choices that includes the safety of the crew. I have been waiting for since "Jaynestown".

But I don't know about hearing Mal sing "I could have danced all night".

How about Shakespeare. Could Joss adapt one of his plays to their circumstance.

How about "Twelfth Night" with River dressing up as a man.

Kayna - spot on sweetie, i see Jayne in an unexpected and vigorous big band jiving mumba number!

traveler - intriguing on the Bard - how bout
'A midsummer night's dream'?? Jayne as Bottom, Mal as Oberon, Inara as Titania - hey this fits pretty well! (i'm surprised)

as for River, i see a nervy Kaylee gaining courage after singing a sweet lullabye number encouraging a nervous river - only to be blown away by the chinese death metal demon River truly is! ha ha!

(again for anyone just tuning in NO WAY would we want this in the real world)

Well here could be a glimpse of what Joss could try.

It seems to fit the way Mal and Inara dance around each other.

And I was thinking of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" but I would love to see River dealing with the infatuation of another female as she is in disguise as a man as in "Twelfth Night". After all she may need to hide from Alliance in just such a manner. I think it would be a hoot.
