Everyone, add to this list of FOX shows cancelled too early...these are only the ones I can remember.

* Firefly
* John Doe
* Futurams
* Greg The Bunny
* Andy Richter Controls The Universe
* Arrested Development (we know it's coming)
* Wonderfalls
* Get A Life!
* The Tick
* The Ben Stiller Show
* Undeclared
* Dark Angel
* Keen Eddie
* Pasadena (OK, it was a soap opera, but the only one I've ever found interesting...introduced me to the great Alison Lohman)
* NEXT (the comedy sketch show by Bob Odenkirk that never even aired)
* Cracking Up (Not sure about this show, but it needed more than 4 or 5 episodes...it's better than Bernie Mac)

*Action
*Titus
*Family Guy
*Cedric the Entertainer Presents
*Skin
*Boston Public

I saw several others cancelled by Fox that I'd never heard of so have no idea how much of a chance they had or if they were any good.

"...we're still flyin'."
"That's not much."
"It's enough." Malcolm Reynolds and Simon Tam - Serenity

My first experience with FOX disappointment was for cancelling one of the most brilliant dramas ever created for television after airing only 5 episodes.

ecgordon - you brought back memories. I can remember rushing home on Friday nights to watch VR5 and the X-Files - good times!

Loved Brimstone too, but Greg the Bunny needed to be cancelled IMO.

I have another one

The first [?] of this list, the original X-Files lead-in:

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

[p.s., I have problems including shows like Futurama and Boston Public in this list. Not that they weren't cancelled before their time was up or weren't mishandled, but they did have good 4 year runs].

Strange Luck. I think that was on Fox, it stared D.B. Sweeny.

Freaky Links. I've got a soft spot in my heart for gangs who investigate the paranormal (must have started with Scooby Doo) and also folks who put up good websites!

"The Tick" ! Fox canceled it, but at least it came out on DVD (like "Firefly").

"Cracking Up" ! One of the funniest shows I've seen in a while.

Also Marti Noxon's "Still Life" seems like its gotten shelved. Apparently Fox thought it was too morbid.

My only disagreement with this list was "Skin". IMHO, it was more stylized night-time soap rubbish, deservedly tossed into the celluloid incinerator .

A Google search for 'television "rock band" ghosts' reveals that it really was called Dead Last. No clue why that sounds entirely wrong to me. I watched it a couple times. Not that great, but I thought it showed some promise.

First off, gotta say something about Brisco County, Jr. Bruce Campbell is DA MAN!

Another cancelled show that I actually really liked (I may be alone in this) was the X-Files spinoff, The Lone Gunmen. I had always loved thos guys and was so mad when they were killed at the end of the X-Files.

Just to argue for Futurama: It had good ratings when it was axed, too good to be cancelled.

And for Greg the Bunny: That show was just way too funny and new.

PS. I also miss "Inside Swartz" another great show.

No it didn't! It had awful awful ratings. Of course, it was in a crappy time slot for most of it's run where it received almost literally no promotion.

And FOX never ever aired it on a regular basis. They'd take like six months to air 5 episodes. There was a year and a half between the time the show was cancelled and the time the final episode aired.

I think he means it was doing good on Cartoon Network when Fox axed it =P.

I was amused... shocked, actually, when Fox FINALLY showed the last few episodes... then ended up repeating a couple. I mean, I could have sworn they just repeat King of the Hill and the Simpsons whenever they need to fill space on Sundays...

Speaking of Simpsons and Futurama... anyone catch the former tonight? Matt Groening does his FIRST speaking role on Simpsons and uses it to plug Futurama.

"The Critic" was on ABC for 13 eps before being cancelled, picked up by FOX for 10 more episodes, and then being cancelled again.

I loved PASADENA - it was so OTT but highly hysterical and to see Nathan get down and dirty again - mmmmmmmmmm - it also gave me a new found respect for Dana Delany, what a bitch!!!! I love her.

apart from FF my next most 'outraged' FOX moment was Action & Family Guy, although FG is making a comeback - I have to wonder what numbnuts at FOX made that F*** Up - oh wait it was the whole damn network!!!
