My lovely betrothed (who's name is Mahealani), and I are scheduled to be wed on Dec 1, '06. You guys knew that. For those of you curious about the long wait, it's because she's a student, being funded by grants, which she'd lose if she got married. I can't afford to pay for her school, so we're waiting. It sucks.

BUT. . .

The good news is. . .

We were handfasted this weekend! (Those of you unfamiliar, that is the wedding ceremony for the Pagan faith, of which Mahealani belongs.)

SOOOOOO. . .please note that my 'betrothed' is no longer my betrothed, but is now my 'wife'.

Edit all outpourings of support accordingly.

Pagan, yes, but with the right licensing, perfectly legal. I witnessed a hand fasting myself a couple of years ago. It was his third and her first due to her being mortally terrified of the institution. However, Pagan priestesses have to be certified, same as any Christian minister - ain't the Constitution wunnerful?
