Almost bought the Series DVD's at Sam's Club today, I have the DVD's but the Sam's Club boxset I saw today says the original 14 episodes and also includes 3 episodes that were never aired...anybody know anything about this? Pretty cheap, $18.88, if there are 3 episodes on this that I haven't seen then it is definitely worth purchasing just for those.

If you've seen all 14 you've seen them all.

Do you have a digital camera? I'd love to see a picture of that packaging, sounds intriguing!

You are probably right. I'm new to the series, just watched all 4 for the first time not long ago, so I was so hoping for three more!!! The link you included says "Three of the fourteen episodes went un-aired in the original broadcasts by Fox, but were subsequently aired on the Sci Fi Channel in the US." The Sam's Club Boxset is somewhat mis-leading in the way they present those facts, to sell it. Its still a great deal, though, if you don't have them, you can't beat $18.88 for the four discs, cheaper than any of the Amazon.com webstore listings.

Yes, I do have a digital camera...I may just go back and get it again anyway and give my brother the set as a gift. I'll be sure and take a picture for ya, when you see it you will understand why I thought there were 3 more episodes.

Hmm. Is the Sam's Club set a recent thing? Those stickers were everywhere when the sets first came out (before Sci-Fi aired the series). It's possible you just found some really old stock.

I want to say that the BluRay packaging says the same thing. Not sure though.

ETA: It says "3 Never Before Aired Episodes" & "All 14 Series Episodes".

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

They should have dropped that part about "unaired" episodes from the packaging a long time ago. Not only have all of them run on the Sci-Fi Channel here in the U.S., they have also been broadcast in Europe, and then after that it was back here in the States on the Universal-HD network.

Thx - sorry that it wasn't true for you!

Hey, if it's on the package like the BluRay that Moose posted don't trouble yourself... I think what you noted about original airing on F*X and what Cybersnark said about old stock makes sense, like it was true at one time. What a dream... 3 more episodes... oiy!

Rule #2: Non-Disclosure (don't tell them the Truth)

I don't see anywhere on that packaging a Disclaimer that this is non-science fiction and not real folk flying in the 'Verse, and that if you attempt to fly a Firefly in space you will bang your head and get fried by radiation, in a long list of fatal side effects. But you might get eaten by Reavers on the way to Walmart.

deciet in dvd packaging?
never!
why this is as unheard of as that Jackie Chan DVD collection my wife bought me for Christmas, which had one movie with him in it, three movies that he only choreographed, and two movies that he had a SMALL role in, only it's on the disc twice as two separate movies cos it was released under two names.
But hey, SIX JACKIE CHAN MOVIE!!
Eh? EH?

Lighten up - it's not deceit - those episodes had not been aired. Those stickers were on all copies for the first few years at least. Having some left over is hardly dishonest.

As for the Chan boxed set, that does sound shady - but really, probably avoidable with a little research.

Except for the Blu-Ray stuff and "Three Disc Collector's Edition", it's the exact same wording as the Old DVD set.

Nothing a little due diligence can't solve.
