I definitely do. Very early this morning TBS showed "The Sure Thing." I probably hadn't seen it in over 25 years. I couldn't turn it off. Daphne Zuniga was so young and so sweet, and John Cusack was such a damn good actor in it. This old geezer actually got all emotional and teary-eyed. It reminded me of all those other great movies of the era. What are your favorites?

I wouldn't say love but I sure do have a fondness for the 'vibe' of those films.

Some Kind of Wonderful and the Breakfast Club certainly stand out. I remember liking the Sure Thing too.
One of the lesser ones that stuck in my mind was Better Off Dead with John Cusack: It's been years since I've seen it and it's probably awful, but I remember liking it back then... Also My Science Project, do you remember that? Weird film about some kid digging up a time machine from an aircraft graveyard...

I do remember having a crush on Ally Sheedy. Especially when she was in War Games and Short Circuit! So cute! Oh there's another: Ferris Bueller's Day Off - (which I hated because he was such a spoilt brat!!!))

Oh boy nostalgia trip!! Might have to see if I can rent Sure Thing now....

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Most all of John Hughes' films are worth revisiting, but some others on your list I can not recommend. All prints of Porky's and its sequels should be burned.

Along with The Outsiders, you should have also mentioned Rumble Fish.

What Would Mal do ?

like much of the music of the 80s.. I tried to let the whole genre pass right by me...but I have to confess..on a slow day of TV home in bed with the flu, I've let the tube burn and gotten caught up in a couple of these...
without a doubt, I still count one of the best kiss scenes ever to have been with Mary Stewart in Some Kind of Wonderful... Eric was a bit of a nothing actor, Lea was just an object and did as good as she typically can..that's fine..but Mary..my goodness she took the flick to another level.

light duty entertainment...nursery garden for growing so many young actors...all good stuff..but i can't say the last time i bothered to go looking for one of those flicks and they aren't on my bookshelves....

Funny, seeing the 'adults' back then, and now realizing I'm at their age, or so.

No kidding about the MILF's there. And Colleen Camp, she's always sorta fascinated me, w/ her characters. I don't know what it was, but she always seemed to stand out with her direct, matter of fact persona. I found it funny and refreshing.

As for fav songs... good grief. Too tough to call. The Plimsouls are all over that sound track, and for good reason. Men at Work ? Josie Cotton ? The P-furs? Bananarama ? All great stuff.

I saw the Pat Traver's band, in a hotel ball room, one spring break, in Daytona..

Here's an interesting tidbit of trivia about Colleen Camp. She was Deborah Foreman's mom in the movie, and Frederick Forrest was the dad. They were ex-hippies who now owned a health food store. And they both still liked to puff a little of the old green now and then too.

Four years earlier Camp and Forrest had appeared together in Apocalypse Now. Forrest played 'Chef' of course, and Camp played Miss May, one of the Playboy dancers entertaining Forrest and the others until the stage got rushed.

She sorta reminds me of the character Rose, from 2 and 1/2 Men. Not the voice, of course.

And Buckaroo Banzi... weird 80's flick , to be sure. I found it entertaining, but not sure how it qualifies as a TEEN flick. Oh well.
