Hunger Sames!

I don’t know how many browncoats have been able to head to the theater and see “The Hunger Games”? Likely there have been several, and likely there are some that like it, and some that don’t like it! I can’t say.

What I can say is that my better half and I went to the movies Tuesday to see “Cabin in the Woods” . It was quiet good and I was surprised that Joss would venture into the “Slasher/Gasher” genre that had me thinking both “Tucker & Dale” and the “Saw” movies at the same time. My wife also mentioned that it didn’t seem to leave itself open for a sequel.

Still, it was a pretty good flick, and we caught ourselves talking about the character actors we’d seen in other movies. Satisfied, we chose to make it a movie day and paid the admission to see Hunger Games a second time. The same 10 people that saw “Cabin in the Woods” with us, seemed to have migrated to the HG’s movie.

I know from the internet that Gary Ross, director of HG’s has taken himself out of the equation for HG2. Yet everyone else is up for the sequel, hence the title for this post, the “Hunger Sames”. Everyone is onboard for the sequel but the director. I submit that Joss be the new director for the HG2. What better person to direct an action movie, with a strong female lead, with a great story than Joss Whedon?

Just some thoughts for the day, Z

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Ross says he can't do it because the production schedule is too tight for him to do the job the way he would like. It has already been announced for a November 2013 release.

I am sure that Joss was asked about this recently and he said he wouldn't be interested because he already has too many other things on his plate.

Thanks for the info EC!

Glad to hear that everybody’s busy working. Still I hope that the sequel gets someone who is really interested in making a good, exciting & entertaining show.

The Mary Sue makes a great case for hiring a female director, given the movie's protagonist.
