Whichever they do, they are going to have to do one hell of a job making sure sci-fi fans understand that this is pretty much THE ONLY WAY we're going to get anything sci-fi worthy any time soon, since the networks aren't willing to get their hands dirty... I'm not quite sure some people would get that, and I think that would be the key to really getting anything off the ground.

Well, V was good for a few reasons beyond what's there on the surface, I always like a show that spits in the eye of TPTB so much that they pull it off the air for a while.

But Firefly had less of a chance and got that reaction from TPTB even MORE, plus it'd be cheaper and the actors would be easy to round up.

Voted for Firefly, but I think V could use another shot. After all, in the final episode many of the most annoying characters were killed and Morena delivered a memorable line, "now that's how you kill your mother."

I watched half of the first episode & got bored.
It is Netflix's first original series.
L.A. Times: "With two other high-profile series on deck — a long-awaited
fourth season of "Arrested Development" and the David Fincher-Kevin Spacey
production "House of Cards" — Netflix is making its small bid to become the
next HBO."

I've been a happy NetFlix customer for years. But I don't think they know or
care what I like.
