The biggest reason to see MI:5 is Rebecca Ferguson. That should be the beginning, middle and end of my review.

It has a taut and clean script, crisp direction with nary a wasted frame.
It has a believable plot, if slightly impossible stunts (carried out with great aplomb by Cruise and company), but it also has a quick and witty pace all it's own. Well, I guess not everyone agrees:

The article makes some valid points, but I'm not so sure that the average Joe seeing this movie would care. Me!? Come on, it's a movie, about a fictitious pseudo-government spy network that patrols the world and is involved in high stakes espionage. It's a movie! Does anyone really care that Luke Skywalker's weapon is not based in reality? I think not!!!
So lighten up!

Okay, back to Ferguson, who nearly steals the movie, what a woman. The baddie in the film was also quite good and really underplayed the character,
delivering a nuanced performance.

(I must stop now. I have a nasty headache)

If you've seen it, you know why I'm raving about Rebecca Ferguson. She's not only easy on the eyes, she kicks some serious ass in MI:V. Really a good movie for summer, or anytime for that matter.

Loved it from beginning to end.

I did a little research on her, she plays the White Queen, a BBC show that aired here in the States, but has been cancelled by our British cousins. Well, their loss, our gain. I want to see more of her. My guess: by the time this movie finishes it's summer run, we'll get to see more of Ms. Ferguson. She held more than her own opposite Tom.

Keep your eye out for Man from U.N.C.L.E. for another Femme Fatale Alicia Vikander, another knockout Swede who was in Ex Machina. What do they feed the girls over there?

I've not seen it yet. But I've oddly become a sort of a fan of Tom Cruise and the whole MI franchise in general. Maybe it's seeing Jeremy Renner more. Or Simon Pegg.

Oh yeah, and the smokin' hot babes... that's never not a great thing.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

I enjoyed it. Agree about Rebecca.
Dickhead extraordinaire Baldwin was obviously forced upon them, but at least he didn't need to pretend to act - he just seemed to play himself.

And the story didn't even seem unbelievable.

Rappy, you will not be disappointed by going to see this flick, it's Ghost Protocol but with a better ending. I rate this one above MI:GP..........I even think that Ferguson's Ilsa would beat Patton's Jane in a knock-down, drag-out brawl......that would be awesome. I'm going to give Tom a call and tell him to make that happen. TC has more than made up for the few bumps in the road with a great summer popcorn movie.

But in the category 'smoking hot babe' Tom picked a good one in Ferguson, she's all that and then some. The woman can act. You'll see!

I was not at all impressed by Baldwin in this one. Everyone else was solid, and it was nice to see Ving Rhames back. He's one of those few guys in movies that looks like he could just demolish you (and he knows it) but instead chooses to spare your life. Great character actor.

Actually I wasn't much impressed with that little government hearing scene. I could've done without it. Luckily for us the focus is on Ilsa and Ethan playing spy. Well done!
