I will keep an eye out for it at the end of the year at my local library.Does your library have it yet?Sorry, I didn't see this before JSF. I must have put a hold on it but I haven't got word yet. There must be a line for it. At my libraries they can tell me how far down on the list I am. On Thanksgiving there was a hold list of 48 people at one branch.Well, I took a look at my local library's webpage and it said there are 34peole waiting. So I am somewhere on that list.

Don't know that name but I do like Tantoo Cardinal and Graham Greene. Should be beautiful being set in Wyoming.Lots of snow. You could make yourself to home. And Jeremy Renner does a very good job of not showboating, just playing the roles straight, solid, down-to-earth. Except when he must be a superhero.I just noticed that all of Brenda's posts have been deleted from this thread. Does anybody know what's going on with that? Are posts from others also deleted?

Quote:Originally posted by Brenda: But really not sure. Nice of the writers to give whoever that guy was who was helping the Fed an Arapaho ex-wife, forgetting that half of the real Wind River reservation is occupied by the Shoshone. Also typical Fed walking on to a reservation and expecting it to operate like the rest of the outside world. Graham Greene's character was surprised at even getting sniff of help. But then reservation land is Federal land and so that explains that. The writer went looking for statistics on missing Native American women and couldn't find any. There is a big difference between Canada and the US. At least in Canada the RCMP and others try to keep statistics on missing First Nations women and girls. This movie rankled me as it proves once again that we don't count. I will also add that I was very glad when that tracker let the main ba$tard die like the young woman. A fitting end to his miserable life.

Just look up Wind River reservation and it will tell you that half is Shoshone (mine) and the other is Arapaho. Quote:The Fed was out of her depth and was responding on short notice. Everybody else was working to set her straight, if she would listen.
Quote:I believe the writer-director was intentionally paying tribute to the lost women, and exposing the tragedy.
Quote:I liked how Greene and Olsen negotiated and navigated the boundaries and interaction, as well as the Fish & Wildlife Service guy engaging with both.
Quote:I felt it fitting when he let Martin know that nobody was missing, at the end.
Quote:Martin and Natalie are both in Yellowstone as well. The subtitles seemed to work well.

But not all tribes in Canada have a police force. I had to look this information up. One place in BC does. There are 3 in Alberta, 1 in Saskatchewan, 1 in Manitoba, in Ontario there is one First Nations police force for the whole province, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, NWT(Northwest Territories), Nunavut, Newfoundland, Quebec there is one for the Cree, EEPF which covers a good portion of that province then 4 other forces, Yukon as well. Also there are programs in the cities for First Nations who live off the reserve. Quote:The Fed was out of her depth and was responding on short notice.
