All anyone knows is that she must have made a magical cup of coffee back in the day.

Or she gives really good blowjobs.

It's probably the blowjobs.

While some rightly rail against the #MeToo movement, there are women who will willingly and happily step in and ' do what it takes ' to advance in their careers.

Kamala Harris is a prime example. She ' dated ' her way into her DA job and that started her on her way to Senator, and now Presidential candidate, and that's not even gossip. That literally is how she got her start.

I'm not saying for sure that she did that though.

Best case scenario is that she was in the right place at the right time and she's filling a quota. I can't see any other reason why she got the job, other than she was close to Lucas for a very long time.

With all of the money she's lost, and the recent admission to not knowing or understanding her multi-billion dollar product at all (or downright lying to everyone about it), what amazes me is that she's still employed.

Get her back on coffee duty and put somebody who can make good movies in charge and then maybe you can salvage the franchise.

I just don't understand how you can destroy Star Wars, even on accident, unless that was your plan going into it in the first place.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Point is, KK is the dingbat who promoted ' The Force is Female ' garbage, shoved wahmen first into the franchise and the claimed she lacked source material as an excuse for why the sequels sucked so hard.

So if it makes anyone feel better about spreading rumors that she whored her way into her position, that's fine by me. Changes nothing. She still is to blame for this flaming garbage heap. But she wasn't alone, so that can't be overlooked either.

My only point by backpedaling there is that as much as I think she's a whore, it probably could have gone without saying. Unless actual videos come out of her blowing Bob Iger, all that unfounded rhetoric leads to is legitimate ammo for the SJW idiots to use in their own delusional arguments.

It really wasn't necessary for me to say it. She's already doing a fine job of destroying her reputation on her own, and so is anybody that is keeping her in that position because of their agenda. The longer that goes on, the worse that gets for everybody involved. Just take a step back and watch it happen.

BTW... what do you think about the Mandalorian? I don't mean to ask if you've seen it and what your opinions are of it. I mean SHOULD people see it, given that it seems to be universally praised?

My position is that they shouldn't, so long as Kathleen Kennedy is in charge.

I honestly don't care if it's the best thing to come out of Star Wars since the original trilogy. She doesn't deserve any good reviews for anything that has happened under her watch, and there's no way that anything created by Disney Star Wars deserves more seasons than Firefly got.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

IDK. I'm not subscribing to D+ , so I don't watch. But it's a good question. I hear from those who still WANT Star Wars to endure that the Mandalorian is generally a solid show so far. Surprisingly so. I get what you're saying, and I see both sides.

There's a part of me that thinks pumping up the good stuff, like Mandalorian and possibly Rogue One, sends a message to the Mouse that there's a path for them to take, and it's clear for all to see.

But there's also a part of me that recognizes the simple truth - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT STAR WARS ! They really don't. KK lying about there not being any source material, like freaking Harry Potter, and those inside Disney who post pics of them drinking out of ' Fanboy tears ' mugs, the whole ' The Force is Female ' … all of that garbage is them going out of their way to slap die hard fans, life long supporters of a franchise to just go screw off and that it's THEIR story now.

I guess , in the end, we must make our own choices. I won't watch The Mandalorian because I won't be subscribing to D+. Just as I've abandoned Netflix.

Yeah... I also realize that it's very easy for me to say that since I hardly watch any movies or TV shows at all these days. I mean, there are some really good shows I used to watch that probably have 2 or 3 additional seasons attached by now that I never went back to, so the me having any desire to see the Mandalorian in a perfect world where all the new Star Wars stuff was better than the original trilogy isn't very likely.

People want to love Star Wars. Even if it breaks their heart again and again and again, they still want to give it another chance.

Maybe I'm wrong. I've been told as much directly from a content creator when I ragged on them for caving and giving in and loving the Mandalorian. Their idea is that the fans need to control Star Wars and not destroy it. Punish them when they behave badly, then give them a cookie when they do the right thing.

I just wish everybody would stop lying about everything. Every single day. It's exhausting.

Kathleen Kennedy could just come out and say "I'm sorry. I fucked up. I'm listening. What do you want?"

That's all she'd have to do. I bet goodwill toward Star Wars, Disney and even Kennedy herself would do a complete 180.

Bring George in on it. Don't give him the reins... I think Star Wars got to his head and he didn't do a good job with the prequel trilogy because he had nobody there to tell him that some of his ideas weren't good. But have him collaborate on things.

Consider re-visiting the extended universe and possibly restoring it to cannon. If some of the ideas presented are a bit too "old think", that's okay. It's not as if Hollywood doesn't change things from their original media when they bring it to the screen with great success already (see: Marvel Universe).

I'll be the first to admit that the original trilogy was a little strange. This entire universe with hundreds or even thousands of alien species and Princess Leia is the only female in the universe or something? By all means, we can afford to be much more inclusive than that. But there's no need to go full swing the other way with it and make any future white male in the franchise an evil character while killing off all the old ones. Or making the "bad guys" a representation of Donald Trump and Russia (which the writers said was exactly what they did).

But you know what the original movie had that the Disney ones do not?

Love. Romance. Young people who had to wrestle down their instinctual needs while fighting for what was right. Sure, it had robots, but those were easy to spot from their metal exteriors.

In Disneyland, humans are just skinsuits without emotions or sexual needs.

At least in a more diverse universe a long time ago, far far away, young Luke Skywalker wouldn't have been faced with the problem of not ever getting any love when he realized that the only human female in existence was his sister. "We crushed the Empire! Great to see you Ghost Dad and Ghost Yoda, but I'm going to find love at the Cantina!"

Disney doesn't even bother with that though. You've got to go to the strange corners of the internet to find creepy fan fic if you want to see any of the on-screen cyborgs "finding love"... but because it was so suppressed in the movies, that went totally the other way and it gets really weird.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

KK is a woman who proudly wears a shirt saying " The Force is Female ". Her supporters gleefully take pics of themselves w/ ' fanboy tears ' mugs, while voice actors like Freddie Prinze ( Mr Buffy ) go on profanity filled rants against fans who disagree w/ these new movies and claims these movies are for children, " They're not made for you, brah ! ".

These people aren't sorry. Don't expect them to apologize for anything, because they don't see that they've done anything wrong.

In their eyes, the fans who have been invested w/ the 40 yrs of Star Wars ARE THE PROBLEM , not themselves.

Same goes for the current batch of Dr. Who repurposers. They aren't writers or directors, they're job is to tear down what was already established and to remake it in their vision.

It's a freaking Maoist culture, to be real. Erase history and remake it in a manner of your own liking. Attack anyone who disagrees.

The Star Wars fandom have adopted a new term for the latest trilogy. It's no longer Star Wars under Disney, but now referred to as the Disney Trilogy aka D.T.

I like it. I'll be using that from now on as well.

Nope. I am subscribed to almost 40 channels, only about 1/2 of them I really watch with any frequency.

What I HAVE noticed is a real lag in notifications for certain favorite channels , mainly for live streams, whether regularly scheduled or random surprise streams.

I suspect there's a common reason why some are mysteriously dropped, assuming that's happening, but for what ever reason, it's not affecting me.

YouTube is headed to a real cluster w/ the COPPA nonsense going into effect Jan 1. but I don't think any of my subs will be affected.

I only used notifications for one channel once, but they uploaded a lot of videos and it pissed me off. I use my notifications for when I've got replies to posts I've made. I'm not giving that space to other people.

I don't think anything is going to happen with COPPA and I've been hearing that the panic has been overblown and people were taking it out of proportion. How many end of days scenarios do we have to go through before we become numb to it.

I've already got my bitchute and gab accounts. I'll just jump ship if it happens. Whatever. The only reason I'm not over there now is because YouTube is much more user friendly and everybody I watch is still there. But I don't care if bitchute is a dumpster fire as far as user interface goes if everybody I watch goes over there.

Once I upgrade my computer with the black friday deal parts that I've got in the mail now, I'll be able to keep a lot more tabs open and I'll probably just have both sites up all the time. A few of my favorite creators are on both platforms right now, and one of them releases some of their videos exclusively on BitChute in protest for the last month or two. I'll probably just start watching anybody who does both on Bitchute and not give YouTube the views for anybody who's taken the time and effort to upload to both platforms.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I think my initial predictions about their marketing scheme here were correct.

They're attempting to make people want to see it by making the actors and access media talk shit about it.

And Carrie Fisher? She should have never made it to TLJ. It's a travesty General Leia was ever in the 2nd and 3rd Disney movies. Just horrible.

For two examples of tastelessness in Joker:
1) Joker murders his Mother while she is in the hospital.
2) Joker murders his female therapist, then he dances to the tune "That's Life" while leaving bloody shoe prints.

Star Wars 9 does not have any scenes as tasteless as those two in Joker. Disney wouldn't allow it, while Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., which made Joker, isn't as careful.

It is no surprise that you live alone and are unemployed, Joker, still smoke, once drank, or that you feel oppressed because, like Joker in the movie, people don't recognize how valuable, how much like a precious, yet undiscovered gem you are. It figures you'd fall into step with Trump lovers and Joker lovers.

Hmmmm...

It may have done much better than expected on the first night, despite hearing that every single spoiler that came out about it was true and a lot of people knew what was going to happen going into it.

Can't say for sure without the details, but the-numbers.com was predicting only a 40 Million dollar opening night last night, but now they've changed that number to 90 Million, even though the actual totals aren't in. No word on their site why they made that change, or how they would get information that would make them change that number.

If the new prediction is right, that's more than twice what was initially predicted it would pull in, but still 30 Million less than The Force Awakens and 15 Million less than The Last Jedi.

It probably didn't stand a chance cracking 1 Billion if it had a 40 Million opening night domestically, but it might eek out a win if it's showing well internationally and it has legs.

They're predicting that it made around 60 Million internationally right now.

I can't seem to find any comparable data for what The Last Jedi made opening night internationally. Any website that I look at only shows individual totals by country for the entire opening weekend, and the entire total worldwide which stated that it made $450 million. Minus the $220 million it made in the states, that's $230 million internationally for the whole weekend.

If the numbers internationally go the same way they do here in the states, generally speaking, Saturday night will be less by as much as 40% than Friday night (as was the case with The Last Jedi).

If the $90 Million US projection and the $60 Million international projections are correct, I'm going to guess that Episode 9 pulls in $320 Million internationally in the first weekend, which is about $120 Million less than Episode 8.

That number may be larger if they throw in Thursday's early showings.

Come to think of it... I wonder if that's where the additional money came from? I'm looking at TLJ right now on the-numbers.com and they don't show any data for December 14th, 2017, which would have been the early Thursday showings.

That would also explain why there was a 40% drop from Friday to Saturday which seemed a little steep to me.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I wouldn't get too deep into this, if Disney cared about this ep 9 would have been over 3 hours, they just want this mess over, after New Years this will be all forgotten. Ep 7-9 will go down with, Godfather 3, Jaws 2 and Blues Brothers 2000, the Fandom will forget this ugly mess ever happened.

Yeah, but nobody WANTS to lose money.

Despite the surprisingly decent showing here, it didn't do very well internationally, with the UK by far being the largest contributor with just over 8 million dollars.

It couldn't even crack 4 million in China last night, and they're predicting that in China it will only make a total of 18 million dollars. Not good when you compare that to the 40 million TLJ made in China and the 120 million TFA made there.

Guess Disney's game of "Hide the Black Guy" didn't work as well for the Chinese audience as they had hoped it would.

Oh...

And although I still don't have any direct links to prove it, I have heard that the 90 Million for "opening night" does indeed include Thursday night showings which may have totaled 44 Million dollars.

This would account the change overnight at the-numbers.com from 40 million to 90 million without having said anything about it.

I think that's a great website, but they really should differentiate between the money earned on two separate "opening" days since they seem to be positioning themselves to be the authority on box office numbers.

I feel it quite disingenuous to lump the two of those numbers together, although I'm not accusing the-numbers of having any bias or reason to do so.

ALSO INTERESTING:

The international numbers summarized.

Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
Domestic Box Office $936,662,225
International Box Office $1,131,561,399
Worldwide Box Office $2,068,223,624

Star Wars Ep. VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
Domestic Box Office $620,181,382
International Box Office $712,358,507
Worldwide Box Office $1,332,539,889

Both of these movies grossed a bit more internationally than in the US, at what looks to be about the same ratio without doing the math.

This is why I don't like lumping Thursday's numbers with Friday's. On first glance, it would appear that TROS is in huge trouble when the US box office blew it out of the water on the first night. But if the only place where there were Thursday showings was here in the states, that's probably not true.

Will know more after a few weekends have passed how it's doing internationally.

And, though I might get some hate for saying it, anybody who's listening to that Nerdrotic guy should really unsub from that channel. His edited video's aren't the worst thing in the world, but the live streams he does are cringy AF. Had youtube auto playing stuff in the background while I was doing other things yesterday and he got on my nerves so bad with his whining and bitching that I've got to spend a few days actively telling youtube to stop recommending his stuff to me.

That alone probably wouldn't bother me, but it's the fact that he sits there reading posts from people who paid to get their post read. Even people who don't seem to like him are paying money to get their posts read.

I realize that with streaming services like Twitch, this has become a more common practice over the years, but people really need to stop giving money to whiny cringy nerds whining and girls who wear push up bras and do jumping jacks.

This whole practice started with porn, and seems to have bled into the mainstream and it's gross.

Okay... and after two nights, the numbers at the-numbers gets stranger.

I have both today's page up as well as the page from yesterday that has the old numbers, but because I didn't archive the page it will be gone as soon as I refresh the page or restart the computer. :(

So... if anybody knows how I could possibly save that before it's gone, let me know. Otherwise, all I have is an archival from the morning of the 22nd I just made that I'll link here: https://archive.is/bDtAG

It's identical to what's up on the site right now, but come Monday it can be compared against new numbers.

Anyway... to what it says currently...

US Box office for the weekend.

Dec 20, 2019 $90,000,000
Dec 21, 2019 $47,500,000
Dec 22, 2019 $38,000,000

All of these are projections right now still, given the nice round numbers and that Sunday night hasn't even occurred yet. No fault of anyone there. I'm sure those will be cleared up in the coming days to paint an exact picture of the weekend.

I'm still going to go forward based off of the assumption that Friday's numbers include the alleged $44 Million it made on Thursday as well until I hear otherwise. It just doesn't make any sense that it would drop 47% from Friday to Saturday night.

No problems there... yet.

But the international numbers on day two are perplexing.

International Box Office $198,000,000

198 Million? How is that possible? Just yesterday with actual reported real numbers they only had $59.5 Million internationally, with 8 million from the UK, 7 million from Germany and 4 million from China among the top 10 countries, and 17 million from "rest of world".

The only country that seems to have given them an update out of the "top 10" so far was China. Their number after two nights is $6,090,000. China's number after one night was $3,630,000. That's a drop of 33% viewership from Friday to Saturday night in China.

If anything, that would suggest to me that the numbers for Saturday and Sunday night everywhere else would be lower than Opening Night, yet we've gone from under 60 Million actual reported dollars internationally in one day to 198 Million internationally in 3? Even if there were zero loss of interest and they sold the exact same amount of tickets all three nights that would only amount to 180 Million.

Another odd thing, is the "Total Box Office" for the "rest of the world" total has actually decreased since the first day. It was at $17,361,057 yesterday. Today it is at $14,901,057.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Well...

MS Paint and my limited digital artistic ability to the rescue...

https://ibb.co/M766FrJ

Without having the foresight to archive any pages until today, the archive I made from this morning and this image of yesterday morning are probably the only historic data saved on this movie to compare to new data.

Even with both of these pages preserved, the initial prediction of only $40 Million USD from the page on Friday is probably lost forever.

Before a little print-screen and cut-and-paste action in Paint, I did try to "Save Page" in Firefox, thinking that even if it didn't save anything that would really look like the page that was on my screen that it would at least save all the data that was on that old page, but it didn't. It actually saved the new page as it was from the source, rather than save the data currently on my screen.

That's a cool little oddity and a bit of trivia that I didn't know before.

So, feel free to compare the numbers for yourself and tell me if you don't feel like you're going to blow a gasket trying to make any sense of them.

Weird...

Two other site's I've tried to use to archive the-numbers don't work. One of them doesn't work at all, and the most well-known archive.org saves the page with zero financial results.

https://web.archive.org/web/20191103112504/https://www.the-numbers.com
/movie/Star-Wars-The-Rise-of-Skywalker-(2019)#tab=summary

The reason that I tried now is because just within a few hours of the last post I made, everything has changed wildly from before. The numbers look seriously inflated compared to what we were seeing. I think Disney is up to something.

I was going to archive it again on the one site that worked so far, but it says "that page was already archived. Archive again if the data looks obsolete.", and I'm afraid if I did that there it would remove the old one.

I'm going to make images in paint for the new one and the one I archived first and put them all in a single post to compare.

If this flick has more then a 50% drop next weekend then there's a good chance it will not make $1 billion WW, if that happens it may not break even.

50% drop would be almost unheard of, so I don't think that's going to happen.

I'm just wondering about these magical numbers. It would be nice to get an explanation about how everything changed, literally overnight.

Particularly sketchy is the numbers out of China. Chinese authorities themselves had said that after Friday night's $3.6 Million dollar showing that it was thought that it would only gross $18 Million before exiting Chinese theaters.

A day later with 2 days worth of results they were just over $6 Million and showed around a 30 to 35% drop from day 1 to day 2.

Fast forward two hours later and now they're somehow showing $12.1 Million dollars?

Did Bob Iger have a little chat with Xi Jinping?

Way to dishonor both the actress and character, in one fell swoop.

Star Wars on Christmas Eve

No spoilers of course, but I have to say that my expectations for Rise of Skywalker were so low that it turned out to be pretty good, relatively speaking. It basically had the design esthetic, dialog esthetic, and plot esthetic of the original trilogy: that is, simple, fast-paced, and suitably finished up. It’s probably perfect for kids, who are, after all, the target audience. For the rest of us, if you enjoy sitting back and watching a movie made in the style of good ol’ Episodes 4-6 without oversized expectations, then you’ll be just fine with Episode 9.
