I liked his songs, maybe I still like them I'm not sure, he had a good vamp, groove and blues style rolls and rhythm on piano.

Learned later he was a disgraceful sleazy degenerate human, 6 Children by I don't know how many girlfriends and 8 or so wives, one he married was his 13 yr old child cousin, maybe he would be arrested today or were the kids born deformed I wonder?

I don't listen to this style of music much anymore, maybe if drunk or almost stoned out of my mind I would tolerate it more or listen to old blues honky tonk wonky stuff

Maybe your life experience, melancholy, a remembered rhyme lyric and history and memory or the sound of Audience or Piano or Guitar adds to 'Psychoacoustics'.
perhaps objectively you can separate the music from the artist themselves but that 13 year old thing always stuck with me when I learned it, I came to see his songs as shallow always about Hooking up, Love, Meeting Women, Having another Girl ...some old pop adolescent teenie bop lyrics again and again and again since Boomer years.

Once you go into music, explore listen to soundtrack composition, jazzy progressive experiments, sound engineering for theatrical productions, Folk music, World music, Classical Music ... Jerry seems kinda empty and dumb

However to his credit he played the Blues well

I didn't care for his music though I have heard numerous of his most well known songs.

Know about the sleaze too but don't care. He's a part of rock n'roll history and that can't be changed.
