6ixStringJack, you should hire a lawyer to sue Haken for failing to protect the copyrights and intellectual property rights of Sound of Freedom's production company. There are litigators who will be pleased to take your money for several years until you realize that you are a loser.

A little of Column A, a little of Column B.

Yeah. Dipshit still doesn't get it.

That's why the 3rd list is going to be a very valuable addition to the first two, especially when the bigger box office movies that are nearly out of the theaters get added to it.

Just for yucks, since I won't keep up with it and I don't intend to add movies to this list until they are out of theaters completely, let's see what happens right now...

LIST 3: TOTAL STUDIO PROFITS AFTER MOVIE EXITS BOX OFFICE (BASED OFF 2X RULE OF THUMB):

[Worldwide Box Office - (Production Budget *2)]

(Special Monday Night List with all current movies 08/01/2023)

1. Super Mario Bros. Movie + $1,154,626,403
2. Barbie + $519,894,985
3. Miles Morales 2 + $482,252,861
4. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 + $337,317,578
5. John Wick: Chapter 4 + $232,249,673
6. Oppenheimer + $207,748,520
7. M3GAN + $156,902,618
8. Insidious: The Red Door + $142,882,040
9. Creed III + $124,448,615
10. Sound of Freedom + $123,377,819
11. Evil Dead Rise + $108,017,671
12. Scream IV + $98,834,132
13. Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania + $63,635,303
14. The Little Mermaid + $60,049,634
15. Fast X + $38,989,106
16. The Pope's Exorcist + $36,913,467
17. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts: + $29,195,740
18. Mummies + $29,172,225
19. Jesus Revolution + $23,150,304
20. Cocaine Bear + $19,301,105
21. Knock at the Cabin + $14,712,293
22: The Bogeyman + $12,351,335

2023 LOSERS:
1. Haunted Mansion - $280,542,813
2. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - $243,429,026
3. The Flash - $131,940,840
4. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Pt1 - $131,912,168
5. Shazam: Fury of the Gods - $117,807,638
6. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - $92,105,230
7. AIR - $50,551,734
8. 65 - $33,758,973
9. Magic Mike's Last Dance - $33,729,498
10. No Hard Feelings - $6,581,731
11.Elemental - $5,425,425

For the 2nd list (Worldwide Box Office vs. Production Budget), Insidious climbs 6% Monday night to 1,094% while SoF rises 15% to 1,079%. Barbie rose 15% as well.

1. M3GAN made 1,475% of its production budget of $12 Million. [FINAL]
2. Super Mario Bros Movie made 1,355% of its production budget of $100 Million.
3. Insidious: The Red Door made 1,094% of its $16 Million production budget.
4. Sound of Freedom made 1,079% of its $14 Million production budget.
5. Barbie made 789% of its production budget of $100 Million.

It will probably take SoF 2 more nights to pass Insidious, depending on how the closeness to the nearest million they roll since I'm rounding up and down to the nearest million for those figures.

SoF needs 15% to beat Insidious.
SoF needs 276% to beat Super Mario Bros. Movie.
SoF needs 396% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 290% ahead of Barbie.

ONLY ON THE MOST SUPERFICIAL AND MEANINGLESS LEVEL IS SOUND OF FREEDOM IN 27TH PLACE FOR THE YEAR, DUMMY.

We're a single day away from SoF being 9th place for 2023 as far as which movies earned the studios the most money, and two days away from SoF being 3rd place for the amount of times a film doubled the production budget for a studio in 2023.

Without taking any as of yet unreleased 2023 movies into account, the chances are EXTREMELY GOOD that SoF makes #7 on the first list and there's a GREAT chance that it takes #1 on the 2nd list regardless of any movies that come out for the rest of the year.

I'd like to point out that Sound of Freedom has had challengers since it's release.
It has taken down Indy5.
It's about to surpass Insidious Red Door.
Dead Reckoning never caught up.
Teenage Kraken had wider release, but flopped.
Barbie is about to fall short, unless it briefly hops above before falling below.
Oppy hasn't a chance.
WokeSayGay Mansion will go down within days.

All of these battling in the Box Office at the same time, and Sound of Freedom has won out.

Every ticket you buy to Sound of Freedom is another vote for God, the GOP, and Trump. Buy enough tickets and you could win a seat in heaven at the right of God Himself or be invited to Donald J Trump's Inauguration 2025.

On the other hand, if you buy a ticket to a Disney movie, you are going to Hell when you die and Trump will arrest you once he is President returning with God's glorious approval to the White House.

Here's a possible 4th list...

How many days it took for a movie to break even with the 2.0x Rule of Thumb.

This would be the least scientific of all the lists though, since as far as I know there isn't any place available where they kept track of weekly worldwide box office for movies. That being said, what I'll do here is look at the current (or final) percentage of Domestic vs. International and use that multiplier all the way down for the entire run of the movie. I think that's the best way to do it.

For example...

SMB made $574,144,495 Domestic and $1,354,626,403 Worldwide.

For simplicity's sake, I'm going to round and call that $574 M / $1,355 M.

OR 42% Domestic / 58% International.

SMB needed $200M to break even, so when it hit $84M us is when it started making the studio money. And the more money over what was needed will be the tie-breaker for the days.

Got it? Good!

1. Insidious: The Red Door: 1 Day / $15M Domestic : $14M Needed (45%D / 55%I)
2. M3GAN: 1 Day / $12M Domestic : $12M Needed (52%D / 48%I)
3. Super Mario Bros. Movie: 3 Days / $113M Domestic : $84M Needed (42%D / 58%I)
4. Barbie: 3 Days / $118M Domestic : $92M Needed (46%D / 54%I)
5. Evil Dead Rise: 3 Days / $19M Domestic : $17M Needed (46%D / 54%I)
6. Miles Morales 2: 4 Days / $120M Domestic : $112M Needed (56%D / 44%I)
7. Oppenheimer: 4 Days / $95M Domestic : $88M Needed (44%D / 56%I)
8. Scream IV: 4 Days / $48M Domestic : $45M Needed (64%D / 36%I)
9. Sound of Freedom: 5 Days / $34M Domestic : $28M Needed (100%D / 0%I)
10. The Pope's Exorcist: 5 Days / $11M Domestic : $10M Needed (27%D / 73%I)
11. John Wick: Chapter 4: 5 Days / $86M Domestic : $86M Needed (43%D / 57%I)
12. Creed III: 9 Days / $94M Domestic : $86M Needed (57%D / 43%I)
13. Jesus Revolution: 10 Days / $30M Domestic : $29M Needed (98%D / 2%I)
14. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3: 11 Days / $220M Domestic : $215M Needed (43%D / 57%I)
15. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts: 12 Days / $107M Domestic : $107M Needed (37%D / 63%I)
16. Knock at the Cabin: 15 Days / $27M Domestic : $27M Needed (64%D / 36%I)
17. Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: 17 Days / $187M Domestic : $184M Needed (46%D / 54%I)
18. Cocaine Bear: 17 Days / $52M Domestic : $50M Needed (72%D / 28%I)
19. Mummies: 20 Days / $2M Domestic : $2M Needed (8%D / 92%I)
20. Fast X: 23 Days / $137M Domestic : $136M Needed (20%D / 80%I)
21: The Bogeyman: 23 Days / $37M Domestic : $36M Needed (52%D / 48%I)
22. The Little Mermaid: 30 Days / $268M Domestic : $265M Needed (53%D / 47%I)

Even without any international help, Sound of Freedom is 9th on this list. The movie that Second has defended the hardest all year, The Little Mermaid, is in last place by an entire week on the winner's list at #22 and a full 30 days. Soon to be joined by Disney's Elemental which will have taken a full 50 days. Disney/Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania took 17 days. Even Disney/Marvel's Guardian's of the Galaxy: Vol 3., the only money that has made Disney any money in 2023, took 11 days and is the first Disney property to make the list at #14. Disney's other two big budget flicks of 2023 so far this year, Haunted Mansion and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will never even make the Winner's list.

2023 PROBABLE EVENTUAL WINNERS (My Predicted Days):
1.Elemental: 50 Days / $149M Domestic : $148M Needed (37%D / 63%I)
2. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Pt1 - $131,912,168: 60 Days / $180M Domestic : $180M Needed (31%D / 69%I)

2023 LOSERS:

1. Haunted Mansion - $280,542,813
2. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - $243,429,026
3. The Flash - $131,940,840
4. Shazam: Fury of the Gods - $117,807,638
5. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - $92,105,230
6. AIR - $50,551,734
7. 65 - $33,758,973
8. Magic Mike's Last Dance - $33,729,498
9. No Hard Feelings - $6,581,731

That's funny. More than 1/3rd of the people going to see this movie are Hispanic and over half of them are women.

We're surrounded by so many of those gorram Mexican white supremacists.

Yup. Keep blowing Black Not-Ariel and all the other woke Disney failures of 2023 that are costing them around a billion dollars at the box office on top of the billions they're losing on Disney+.

I guess you're the only one with taste here, huh? Too bad for Disney you didn't pay to see any of their movies and you pirated them all.

No. I wrote that Sound of Freedom made 1,079% of its $14 Million production budget because that is how Math works.

Even better. Awesome.

In the meantime, why don't you explain to everyone how all the Disney movies are costing $200M to $300M to make and they all look like shit and then try to tell us that Disney isn't cooking books. Their entire 2023 roster comes off as some twisted version of The Producers.

$212 Million dollars for 6 episodes of Secret Invasion full of nothing but scenes where 2 or 3 people are sitting in a dark room dropping exposition bombs for an hour long the entire run time? That's $35.3 Million per episode to watch a bunch of no-names tell Sam Jackon's Nick Fury that he's an old dude that sucks now. WTF man?

I mean, they're not wrong... but one would imagine that there has to be a much less expensive way to get that point across while making it at least a little bit more engrossing than watching paint dry.

And with Disney speed-running the destruction of the entire MCU by crashing it into the ground at mach 10, one would feel that it isn't even necessary to have done. You can stop beating the dead horse already, Bob. It's just a pile of glue on the ground now.

Insidious is below $500k on Cheap Seat Tuesday. That being said, SoF pulled in a lot less than I expected it to on Tuesday with only a little over $2M itself.

SMB finally got that extra 1% boost it hadn't seen for a while. Must have gotten some international numbers squared away there because it wasn't due to the $6k it made yesterday.

1. M3GAN - 1,475%
2. Super Mario Bros - 1,356%
3. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,094%
4. Sound of Freedom - 1,093%
5. Barbie - 803%

For the first time, Insidious didn't move up a percentage point. But that's due to the fact I round up or down to the nearest million for all of these figures and it finally hit the level of per-day income where that matters.

SoF only increased 14% on Cheap Seat Tuesday.

Barbie increased 14% (really 15%, but again, rounding)... But this doesn't include whatever it's making internationally and it will get a big bump over the weekend for the weekday international numbers. So though it would appear that SoF is staving off Barbie this week, it will look quite a bit different as of Monday.

Tonight is the night that SoF overtakes Insidious and grabs 3rd place on the list.

SoF needs 2% to beat Insidious.
SoF needs 264% to beat Super Mario Bros.
SoF needs 383% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 290% ahead of Barbie.

Also, every single day since release, SoF has more $ per screen that Indy5.

DR is $11.2M behind SoF in Domestic BO, and falling.

Tuesday TMNT took a bite out of some Box Office takes.
Are Mutant Ninjas gay?

SoF dropped 39% from the prior Tuesday, which is the lowest percentage of any film except WokeSayGay Camp.

I suspect Mansion won't have higher $ Per theater than SoF for Wednesday.

I think SoF gained 178% in the past 7 days, it's slowest week.

That is correct. And yes... It's slowest week.
Quote:

I expect Barbie to get $110-120M from today to next Sunday, getting up to about 1,000%.
The following 7 days only about $70-80M, for another 170%.

Right now I can tell you that Domestically Barbie made $162,022,044 on weekend one and $93,011,602 on weekend 2 for a 43% drop. And I can also tell you that Barbie roughly made $194 Million internationally on weekend one and $232 Million more during Monday through Sunday this week. But I can't tell you how much it made internationally just over the 2nd weekend.

All that being said. I think your prediction for the 7 days are sound. My guess is $116.2 Million from Monday night to Sunday night, and just a shade under $70 Million for the following 7 days. That would be a US total of around $537 Million after August 13th's numbers are finalized.

Quote:

Not sure if Barbie will catch up to SoF. Barbie will drop below the 100% per week faster than SoF will, I expect.
You've got to keep in mind that it's already released worldwide and 55% of the money it's made so far was overseas. Barbie started out with 356% worldwide on opening weekend, beating SoF by 56% due to this fact, and by weekend 2 it made another 418% even though it lost 43% in the Domestic Box Office on weekend 2.

No. I was imprecise.
I meant "sooner" instead of "faster".
I was saying that on the first calendar day that Barbie drops below 100% worldwide for the prior 7 days, Sound of Freedom will not have dropped that far yet.

Updating, Barbie is still gaining about 15% per day on SoF, including International, but it has 290% of catching up to do (extrapolation = 19 days), and I don't think Barbie will maintain that pace for long.
Sorry if I was unclear. I wanted to clarify before it became muddled or moot.
Quote:

Because it had no international help, by weekend 2 SoF had only made 614% of its budget compared to Barbie's 774%.

PER SUNDAY NUMBERS FOR SOF SO FAR:
Weekend 1: 300% (only Tue-Sun)
Weekend 2: 315%
Weekend 3: 270%
Weekend 4: 179% (These numbers don't exactly match up right with what I've posted elsewhere because I've been rounding up and down to the Million when doing the percentages, but they're close enough, since they still do add up to 1,064).

TOTAL SOF AFTER WEEKEND 4: 1,064%

PER SUNDAY NUMBERS FOR BARBIE SO FAR:
Weekend 1: 356% (only Thurs-Sun)
Weekend 2: 418%
Weekend 3: ? 244% (Assuming our guesses above +110% more overseas or roughly $240 M)
Weekend 4: ? 147% (Assuming our guesses above +110% more overseas or roughly $147 M)

TOTAL (THEORETICAL) FOR BARBIE AFTER WEEKEND 4: 1,165%

So... Barring real staying power either here or internationally, you're probably right that Barbie will fall below 100% per week before SoF did, but since SoF came out 2 weeks earlier that loss of percentage for Barbie is going to be 2 weeks delayed from the loss of SoF's percentage and it will still be doing quite a bit of catching up in that time, and that likely will persist unless SoF does decent numbers internationally and/or Barbie flatlines at some point.

Without doing any real math and PURELY speculating here, in two weeks the top five might look something like this:

1. M3GAN 1,475%
2. SMB 1,355%
3. SoF 1,294%
4. Insidious 1,178%
5. Barbie 1,165%

Also, the next film from Angel Studios - next year - looks like one I want to see.

I had not realized that the evil guy in the film, "The Scorpion" was played by Gerardo Taracena, who was the lead role in Apocalypto from 2006.

Yeah. Barbie and SoF have both made more or less 15% gains the last two days and have been right at around 290% apart since Sunday night (Just a little jenky on those numbers because I'm rounding up or down to the nearest million for all the figures). But as I mentioned that isn't including international. That's a hard thing to calculate since we don't get daily updates, or really even reliable weekly updates on the international figures. So there's no real point in looking at that on a daily basis since, although still not perfect, you're going to get a much more accurate picture there when looking at the weekly percentage difference after Sunday.

So if we were only counting Domestic takes for both movies, Barbie has already fallen even with SoF.

But if you look at US/International take on Barbie so far, it's a 47.5/52.5 split. So my guess is that Barbie is actually making in the realm of 30-34% per day right now in reality compared to SoF's 15%.

Even though all the official numbers aren't in yet, I'm just going to do the daily update now since I'll probably be busy later tonight.

Barbie is projected at making $12.8M domestic Wednesday night.

SoF got an official figure of only $1,561,130.

Super Mario Bros doesn't matter since it will only have made around $5k and would be nowhere near rising another percentage point after finally making it to 1,356 last night.

Insidious: The Red Door is projected at making $300k last night. Any difference with the final tally won't matter for our purposes here.

1. M3GAN - 1,475%
2. Super Mario Bros - 1,356%
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,107% (+14%)
4. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,100% (+6%)
5. Barbie - 817% (+14%)

Sound of Freedom finally overtakes Insidious on the Worldwide Box Office vs. Production Budget list for 3rd place in 2023 on 08/02. Insidious' run is all but dead, and even with international numbers added over the weekend it will not rise above SoF ever again at this point.

SoF needs 250% to beat SMB.
SoF needs 369% to beat M3GAN.
SoF remains 290% above Barbie.

... But in actuality, Barbie has almost certainly made another 45% to 57% from International figures that aren't yet updated, putting Barbie somewhere around 868% and only 239% behind SoF.

With its first day at sub-$2M, I am having really strong doubts that Sound of Freedom can beat M3GAN or stave off Barbie with the US Box Office alone. It likely won't even beat Super Mario Bros at this rate without good international numbers. Even at 3rd or 4th place that would still be a great finish for the year for a $14M non-Horror indie that everyone was trying to bury for years.

If SoF does reasonably well internationally when (and if) it finally shows up in Australia, Mexico, Spain and the UK, it could still take 1st place for the year. But by then the US buzz around it will almost certainly be non-existent and it would require a somewhat similar buzz to originate out of those countries at the time of release. For all we know they're only getting like 50 theaters showing it each by that time.

Will DR Domestic BO ever catch up to SoF?

DR is $11.6M behind SoF in Domestic BO, and falling.

Wednesday TMNT took a bite out of some Box Office takes.

I suspect Mansion won't have higher $ Per theater than SoF for Wednesday.

My suspicion failed. WokeSayGay Mansion dropped to $492 per theater, in it's 6th day of release. But SoF dropped more than I expected, to $458 per screen.
I do still feel confident that Mansion will fall below SoF for Sat and Sun.

Sof earned 11% of it's Production Budget. Barbie earned almost 13% from Domestic BO, likely 27% Worldwide.
SoF earned 150% of it's Budget in the past 7 days, Barbie did $157M Domestic in the last 7 days, which would be 157% of Budget, and likely 320% Worldwide.

Today marks the 31st day in release, and it will likely be ranked 4th or 5th. Others have done this, but not really while up against Barbenhiemer.

I do wonder how well SoF will fare in Mexico and Spain - Hispanics seem to be going in droves (anecdotally inferred, I have not seen this directly)

Regarding International figures at The Numbers, I keep seeing the heaviest markets with reporting dates within a day or 2. I have not kept track of the actual figures reported from day to day, but if the reporting dates really are each day, then the fluctuation should not be all that much. Maybe Bruce Wokenash just uses Woke Math - like Fake Math, aka Lib Math.

Do you know something about Haunted Mansion that I don't, or are you just calling it that because it's a Disney movie?

If that's the case, I wouldn't call it that. I'm hoping that there's nothing woke at all about it. I honestly have not heard a single thing about the movie negative or positive. To me, it would be great news that it's failing and it's not woke, because that's a great indicator that Disney has actually done lasting harm to their brand with their decisions.

As for whether or not SoF takes over the daily amount over Haunted Mansion, who's to say? It just got the bad news that it's losing 410 theater this week, down to 3,001 while Haunted Mansion retains its 3,740 theaters.

Yeah. Your numbers and mine are going to be a bit off because we're going about different ways of calculating them. I've got both Barbie and SoF making 14% yesterday, but I'm using their existing running totals with the new daily money added and then rounding up or down to the nearest million. We'll get the same number in the end, but that's where the discrepancy is coming from now.

This is also why Insidious made 0% on Tuesday, but made 6% on Wednesday. My numbers more accurately reflect the entire total of money a movie made at the end of every day, your numbers more accurately represent money made on the day itself.

At the end of the day, unless there's a huge scandal going on, his final numbers need to reflect reality. I don't think there's math with an agenda going on here. I just think the updating of international box offices has left us with a lot to be desired. The worst thing I've ever seen so far on the international numbers is how MI7 got so messed up in the last 24 hours with something like $250 Million from China added last night and then taken back away again this morning.

But if you look at my weekly lists I usually note when I see odd behavior. For instance, even though Guardians 3 has made money in the US over the last 3 weeks, it's lost something in the area of $2.5 Million in that time with three consecutive weeks of a smaller worldwide take being reported.

Once again...

Even though all the official numbers aren't in yet, I'm just going to do the daily update now since I'll probably be busy later tonight.

SoF gets its first sub-$1.5M day with an official figure of only $1,440,581.

Barbie drops 8% as well with a projected $11.8M domestic Wednesday night.

Super Mario Bros didn't even show up on Wednesday's list yet, so I don't know what's going on there. I'm sure it wasn't booted out of all the theaters mid-week. But again, it's not making enough money to move the needle at all.

Insidious: The Red Door is projected at making $225k last night. This will be the last time I even bother mentioning this movie outside of the weekly list update unless it did some AMAZING international numbers and came back in contention.

1. M3GAN - 1,475%
2. Super Mario Bros - 1,356%
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,114% (+7%) [The rounding to a million really hurt it today]
4. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,100% (+0%)
5. Barbie - 829% (+12%)

SoF needs 243% to beat SMB.
SoF needs 362% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 285% above Barbie.

... But in actuality, Barbie has almost certainly made another 60% to 76% from International figures on Monday through Thursday that aren't yet updated, putting Barbie somewhere around 897% and only 217% behind SoF.

This weekend will tell us a lot about the future of SoF in the Domestic market. It lost over 400 theaters as reported last night. My guess is that it will make about another $6 to $7 Million this weekend, or 43% to 57% depending on how the rounding falls. The percentage loss it had last night will actually be beneficial to it this weekend since it was so close to rolling up instead of rolling down to the closest million.

It's looking less and less likely that SoF will end the year on top without good international numbers.

Possible hit job. They can't verify anything that they've claimed.

You don't know he's a child molester. The article doesn't even claim that he's an alleged child molester. They don't have any details at all about the kidnapping. For all we know he took his own kids back from their abusive mom and step-dad.

But hey... If he was diddling kids, cut his fucking balls off and throw him in the ocean with cement shoes on. I don't protect pedophiles like you regularly do.

Newsweek also finishes the article with this:

Quote:

The production has since shocked industry insiders by competing with—and occasionally beating—the likes of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One at the domestic box office in July.

That's demonstrably false. Sound of Freedom REGULARLY beat the likes of Indiana Jones and Mission Impossible and thoroughly embarrassed them and their $300 Million and $290 Million budgets with its paltry $14 Million budget at the domestic box office in July.

Not only that, it's going to beat both of those movies every single day for the rest of their runs, and it will have the highest domestic box office of all 3 of them when they leave theaters.

Woke Math, Fake Math, Libtard maths do not reflet reality. Only REAL MATH reflects reality.
WokeSayGay mansion is from Disney. I had liked the cast, but won't see it pollute my mind from Pedophiles of Disney. I thought about feeling bad about their plight, but far worse was already done with Wind River, which was fully completed and ready for distribution before the Dist rights were aquired by Weinstein, and then the next year it was blacklisted because of the association with him. Best film of the year.

Yesterday SoF only gained 10% of it's budget - the lowest take in it's entire release. The past 7 days it has only made almost $20M (about 140%), it's lowest span, and also what it was expected to make in it's first 6 days of release. This is on it's 31st day of release.
Talk To Me figures came out today instead of yesterday, so I had to change the numbers on my listing.
Barbie made $11.8M (11.8%) Domestic, so about 25% Worldwide for the day. And almost $148M Domestic in the past 7 days (148%), so about 306% Worldwide.

SoF is now 6th place on the All-time list for Real Stories genre, with no others newer than 5 years higher. And, really, Pearl Harbor? Fake love story with Baffleck? Being set in a historical setting is not really qualified as Real Story - note that the fictional Titanic is not on the list, when it couldn't even get the sinking part right.

'Sound of Freedom' Funder Fabian Marta Arrested For Child Kidnapping

By Aleks Phillips On 8/4/23 at 10:39 AM EDT

St. Louis Metropolitan Police confirmed to Newsweek that Marta, 51, from Chesterfield, Missouri, was charged on July 21, and was arrested on July 23.

A child molester funds a movie about child sex slaves. 6ixStringJack, that is "odd behavior."

The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

Days in July that SoF beat MI7: 3 days in a row (06/19-06/21) and then 9 days in a row (06/23-06/31), for a total of 12 out of 21 days they were both in the theater in July.

Not only that, it's going to beat both of those movies every single day for the rest of their runs, and it will have the highest domestic box office of all 3 of them when they leave theaters.

When they're going to be petty enough to lie about this when it is so easy for joe nobody to refute, why would you believe the entire article wasn't just a hit job by some wackjob with an agenda like you?

Despite the loss of 400+ theaters, Bruce remains more optimistic than I do about SoF's chances this weekend. His model has $9,020,00 predicted for 6th place, right behind Haunted Mansion's $10,500,000.

If that's true, it won't be long until SoF overcomes another mega-budget Disney movie.

So far with $2,200,072 projected on Friday, the high end of my guess at $7 Million sounds reasonable. it's probably not going to do $9 Million this weekend.

I'll update the dailies now even though it's all just projection.

As I thought, Super Mario Bros is still in the theaters with a count of 152. Some international numbers must have come in because rounding up it now hit 1,357%. It made $10k domestic last night, so chances are pretty good that it doesn't move up beyond that since it would need another $750k to go up again.

No new international numbers for Insidious yet, and it's making so little in the states now that with rounding it has had 2 straight days at 0% gains.

No new international numbers for Barbie either. $17M projection last night.

1. M3GAN - 1,475%

Yes, the resident pedophiles and groomers have jumped on the pedophile and groomer bandwagon.

These allegations are made by Jim Stewartson, who labels himself an "anti-disinformation activist" - which should give the big hint right there.

Who's disinformation is he against? Fake News disinformation? Biden disinformation?
He states that he is an activist against Qanon.
He considers truth and facts to be disinformation. He also expresses displeasure at being called out as a pedophile and groomer, just like most pedophiles and groomers dislike being called pedophiles and groomers.

Much of what Tim Ballard does could also be called Child Abduction, without permission of "guardian". When stoln children are being held or trafficked by Fake Parents, rescuing these children victims is often called "abduction" - especially by Libtard festering sh!thole cities like St. Louis.

--------------------------------------------------
How you do anything is how you do everything.

Based upon the green numbers projected at the moment, I still expect SoF to do $8-10M this weekend.

This $2.2M for Friday is 16% of budget, and the last 7 days is $18.3M for about 131%
Barbie green number is $17M, for 17% on the day, and almost $136M for the past 7 days Domestic, or 136% Domestic. International figures have remained at $422M for at least 3 days now. But extrapolation for Worldwide Box Office has likely gained 36% for the day and 286% for the past 7 days.

SoF has passed Domestic Box office totals for Elemental, Transformers, and DR never caught up. If trends remain, within 7 days SoF will bypass Domestic BO for indy5.

Bruce predicts Barbie will fall 28% and SoF will fall 30%.
I think these numbers are swapped.
Friday green numbers show 41% drop from prior Friday, and SoF with 42% drop. I expect SoF to be stronger on Sat and Sun than Barbie, when honest working folks are not working.
He also indicated Meg 2 getting 1/7 less than Turtles.
Ooops.

It reports SoF budget was $14.5M - however this is certainly a Fake News site, and perhaps their Maths are prejudiced.

The article also reports International release dates.

18 Aug
South Africa

24 Aug
Australia, New Zealand

31 Aug
Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Belize, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica

1 Sep
UK, Ireland

11 Oct
Spain

Other than Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, China, the biggest markets seem to be covered. Some of those likely need greater translation or dubbing, since most of the cast already spoke Spanish.

Days in July that SoF beat Indy 5: 22 straight days out of 28 days they were both in theaters in July. (06/10 - 06/31)

Louis.

Yes. And notice that Ted, who has been absent in this thread for nearly 150 posts decided to come in a few hours after Second to post the exact same article.

They're both a couple of pedophiles, just like the pedophiles in the media who tried to keep people from seeing Sound of Freedom.

The percentage loss it had last night will actually be beneficial to it this weekend since it was so close to rolling up instead of rolling down to the closest million.

It's looking less and less likely that SoF will end the year on top without good international numbers.

If that's true, it won't be long until SoF overcomes another mega-budget Disney movie.

2. Super Mario Bros - 1,357%
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,136% (+22%)
4. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,100% (+0%)
5. Barbie - 846% (+17%)

SoF needs 222% to beat SMB.
SoF needs 340% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 290% above Barbie.

Benefiting from rounding today after being hurt by it yesterday, SoF is back to 290% above Barbie.

... But in actuality, Barbie has almost certainly made another 77% to 98% from International figures on Monday through Friday that aren't yet updated, putting Barbie somewhere around 934% and only 202% behind SoF.

Yeah... Sorry man. I didn't think so.

I know I spent the first few weeks seriously underestimating this movie, but it's since fallen back to earth and is behaving as I would expect a movie to behave.

If there's any solace to find here, it's the fact that it really made Bruce think twice about his own predictions and give it the $9,020,000 figure so he wasn't wrong about it for the 5th weekend in a row, and all that did was make him wrong about it again.

Projected numbers are in for the weekend on SoF. $2,200,000 for Friday, $2,831,000 for Saturday and $2,001,000 for Sunday.

These aren't numbers that Bruce makes up. These are numbers provided to Bruce by the studios, so this is Angel Studios giving those projected numbers.

Weekend Total Projections for SoF are $7,032,000.

After Saturday/Sunday Projections:

1. M3GAN - 1,475% [FINAL]
2. Super Mario Bros - 1,357% (+0%)
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,164% (+28%)
4. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,138% (+38%)
5. Barbie - 882% (+36%)

SoF needs 193% to beat SMB.
SoF needs 311% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 282% above Barbie.

Though there are no confirmed-by-country dates for Insidious over the last two days yet, the "Rest of World" number must have had some additions to it already. It's only added a little over a million Domestic this weekend, which only accounts for about 6 or 7% depending on rounding, but it went up a full 38% since early yesterday when I updated it.

None of the international numbers for Barbie have come in yet, however, so the 36% it gained in the last two days were the Domestic Box Office projections. It's probably made in the area of 110% to 140% internationally since the last updates, which could possibly cut SoF's current lead in half. I have to be honest though, it's probable that some of this international money has been added in and I wasn't paying attention to it. I don't really see how since I've been updating nearly every day and it didn't look like it was happening at the time, but quite a few countries listed 8/2 and 8/3 as the days they were updated. Unfortunately, it's impossible to view any sort of historic timeline of international additions, so if you miss them and didn't catalog them on the day they happen, you miss them forever.

Through my completely not-scientific method of predicting the International box office future of a movie, I had determined on the 1st that 55% of Barbie's income was from overseas. Currently, 5 days later, only 48% of the international income is reflected from overseas takes. In order for that number to get back to 55%, Barbie would get somewhere in the area of $128 Million additional added in the next several days. I dunno. Things get really tricky when the international stuff is so haphazardly thrown in with no rhyme or reason.

If Barbie does get as much as $128 Million internationally added, it joins the Billion Dollar Movie Club as soon as they're posted.

Weekly updates to all the lists will happen tomorrow when the true weekend Domestic numbers are in.

SoF is now at 1164%, once again being hurt by the rounding up/down to a million. Its true increase for the last two days of projections was 34.5% even though when looking at the grand total and rounding to the nearest million shows only 28% for the two days. But it's been set up for another good increase either if the real numbers are $30k higher than the projections or putting that off for Monday's benefit if they aren't.

5 hours later...

https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Barbie-(2023)#tab=international

Barbie joins the Billion Dollar Movie Club with $1,000,381,413 after adding roughly $118 Million to the international total. This puts Barbie's Domestic Take at 46% and the International take at 54%.

Barbie is now also a 1000% WW Gross vs. Production Budget winner.

UPDATED percentages after Weekend Projections...

After Saturday/Sunday Projections:

1. M3GAN - 1,475% [FINAL]
2. Super Mario Bros - 1,357% (+0%)
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,164% (+28%)
4. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,138% (+38%)
5. Barbie - 1,000% (36% Domestic Friday + 118% International for the week = +154%)

SoF needs 193% to beat SMB.
SoF needs 311% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 164% above Barbie. (-118%)

At this point the question is if beating M3GAN would even be enough to take 1st place on the list for 2023 with Barbie's performance so far. By the end of weekend 3, The Super Mario Bros. Movie had $436 Million Domestic, and Barbie has $459 Million Domestic.

I'm thinking that SMB is probably safe from being beat by Barbie in the end though because SMB's (near final) Domestic/International split is 42%/58% and Barbie's current split is 46%/54%, meaning that even though Barbie is making more here in the states it's making less overseas than SMB did. And to drive the point home, that 4% difference amounts to exactly $40 Million when you're looking at a Billion dollar movie, so in all likelihood, Barbie is probably about $10 or $20 Million or so behind where SMB was worldwide at this point in their runs.

ETA: See how weird the math is when you put in these fuzzy international numbers???

https://www.vulture.com/2023/04/super-mario-bros-box-office-1-billion-
globally.html

Barbie apparently is not behind SMB at this point in their run, because according to both Forbes and Vulture, SMB hit $1 Billion on April 30th, which was 26 days into the run. Barbie managed that in only 17 days.

Before the Barbie fans celebrate though, I've got a good reason for this discrepancy this time though...

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was not released in South Korea until April 26th and Japan until April 28th.

With about $120 Million of box office receipts between the 2 of them, that would account for at least $40 or $50 Million showing up late in that worldwide gross for SMB. maybe not enough to keep Barbie from taking $1 Billion first anyhow, but probably eliminates about a 1 week of the gap between the 9 days it took both movies to get there.

In any event, if the projections are right, Barbie only made $53 Million on its 3rd weekend Domestically. Super Mario Bros made $59 Million on the same weekend. Should that become a trend, it won't even matter that it seems like Super Mario Bros. had even stronger longevity overseas than it did in the states.

If SoF can manage to make another 193% and beat SMB, it probably should at least take 2nd place on the list behind M3GAN if it can't wrangle up the 311% it still needs to take number 1.

Addition to the above Barbie/Super Mario Bros. prediction...

https://www.the-numbers.com/news/254740830-Weekend-projections-Barbie-
hits-a-billion-Meg-2-takes-second-place

Bruce brings up a few good points, although if he has realized that SMB's international numbers didn't get a late jump-start with the delayed releases in Japan and South Korea he still hasn't mentioned it.

Quote:

Barbie’s $53 million will be the 11th-biggest 3rd weekend for a movie in history, a slight dip after posting the 7th-biggest 2nd weekend, and notably behind Mario’s $59.9-million 3rd weekend. Our head-to-head comparison chart between the two films shows Barbie continuing to outpace Mario handily though thanks to much higher Summertime weekday numbers—$11.8 million last Thursday compared to Mario’s $4.9 million on the same day in its run, for example. With schools out for the rest of August, by and large, Barbie will most likely end up the winner between the two films at the domestic box office. It has a steeper hill to climb internationally, and Mario may still end the year as the top-grossing film worldwide.

I didn't look at the weekday numbers between the two films. I usually don't look too deeply into them unless I'm doing direct movie comparisons on the regular. It's something I would have started doing now that Barbie vs. SMB has become interesting. And yeah, even though Barbie isn't technically a kid's movie, it makes sense that it will benefit from summertime when school is out.

He does mention that it has a steeper hill to climb internationally though and because of that SMB may still be the top-grossing film worldwide for this year.

Both Barbie and Oppenheimer came in well under the predictions this week, with Meg 2 and the TMNT movie taking a big bite out of them.

Haunted Mansion did worse than predicted as well, so we're going to have another Disney movie pulling the studio even further down than it has already fallen in 2023. And even with the lower-than-Bruce/JSF-predicted weekend box office for SoF, it shouldn't be long before SoF overtakes yet another big-budget hollywood dumpster-fire. Haunted Mansion with more than 10 times SoF's budget will never come close to making what SoF made domestically, and depending on how well SoF does overseas, with $17 Million in the bank internationally after the 2nd weekend, Haunted Mansion might also make less money than SoF there as well.

Last weekend SoF made 54% of what Haunted Mansion made at the Domestic Box Office. This weekend it made 78% of what Haunted Mansion did.

MI7 got really close on Saturday and Sunday to SoF's projections. Close enough where it might have broken the 16-day streak of being beaten by SoF once actual numbers come in. Especially on Sunday where the projected difference between the two films was only $41,000.

Well now... SoF continues to amaze.

That Sunday gap widened substantially when the real SoF numbers came out. It appears that Angel Studios was being conservative in their estimates for the weekend.

What was once only a $41,000 on Sunday is now a $527,447 difference.

Although, the Saturday projection didn't seem to benefit much with only a $250,372 difference between SoF's actual numbers and MI7's projection, which isn't much more than the SoF projections were showing. Friday wasn't very different from the projection either.

In total, SoF made $7,570,422 for the weekend, up from just slightly over $7 Million in projections.

Nowhere near the $9-$10 Million that others were predicting, but it looks as though SoF has no worries about MI7 breaking its losing streak between the two.

With this extra money banked, SoF also broke the next Million barrier to over $164 Million, meaning that instead of only being at 1,164% of Production Budget, it is now 1,171% after Weekend 5. Only 186% behind Super Mario Bros., 304% behind M3GAN, and 140% ahead of Barbie's 1,031%, which appears to have picked up another $31 Million+ in international numbers since being introduced to the Billion Dollar Movie Club yesterday (and will likely pick up some more domestic numbers after the true weekend earnings come in).

Also...

Quote:

With the additional $31 Million that Warner Bros. found in Barbie's International pink couch cushions, Barbie actually defied my high-end international expectations I'd been harping on all week and increased 149% once all of the international numbers came in. To be fair to my prediction range though, if Barbie's Domestic projections for the weekend prove to have been decently conservative, the real numbers would have bumped up my international additions range at least a few more points if not all the way to 150% for the high end.

With SoF's lead before international numbers came in for Barbie being at 282% (and SoF's additional 7% for doing better than the projections), but now falling to only 140%, that's yet one more prediction I've made regarding movies I don't watch coming true. SoF's lead only 1% away from being cut EXACTLY in half? I don't think anybody could be expected to ever get any closer to reality with a prediction than that.

Maybe that's the secret, Bruce? You need to hire somebody like me who doesn't actually watch any of the movies to make predictions about how they'll perform.

6ix, you are A Very Stable Genius.
This movie was made in Finland but didn't earn the kind of money Hollywood expects:

Sisu (2023)
Worldwide Box Office $10,850,427
A hybrid action/war/revenge film with enough octane to blast Michael Bay out of competition.

This is the kind of movie Hollywood has forgotten how to make. Not since Sin City have I seen something that is so unabashedly a celebration of violence.

From start to finish I was utterly engaged. The movie does a fine dance of having The Immortal be a super badass, yet never so much that there are no stakes. Every chapter has stakes and good tension. It's such a hard thing to do, yet the film makers have done a wonderful job keeping you literally on the edge of your seat.

If Hollywood isn't going to give us what we want to see, someone else will. Nice to see that someone is stepping up to the plate to fill the void of GLORY.

I'll quote you on that.

But I don't need to. I practically predicted Barbie's international take for last week down to the penny.

You missed the part where movies not made by Hollywood, even if just as good (Sisu for one example), make only 5% of what a genuine Hollywood product makes. The explanation could be as simple as Sisu is the wrong name to market a movie. Hollywood knows but Finland doesn't. The movie begins:

"SISU is a Finnish word that cannot be translated. It means a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination. SISU manifests itself when all hope is lost.”
https://hoff.ee/en/film/sisu/

I've been there and done that and have the scars so I was impressed by a movie that would use a unique word that nobody but the Finns know. Unfortunately for ticket sales, the rest of the world was not similarly moved and didn't see Sisu.

LIST 4: DAYS IT TOOK FOR THE FILM TO BREAK EVEN (FOR 2.0X RULE OF THUMB):

Short Explanation: Take the movie's % of Domestic/International, consider that the constant split for the entire run of the movie. Use those percentages to figure out what day it made enough in the US to have made twice the production budget with the international figure on that day. Tie breaker for days goes to the movie that made the most money above two times the production budget.

(The least scientific of the three lists, but all we can work with given the abysmal state of keeping track of international numbers in 2023)

Also, until a movie is finished, this list would bounce around all over the place, so I'm not going to update any of these numbers going forward until a movie is [FINAL] and the movie will just stay in whatever place it falls on the day I put it on this list until the movie ends its theatrical run.

1. Insidious: The Red Door: 1 Day / $15M Domestic : $14M Needed (45%D / 55%I)
2. M3GAN: 1 Day / $12M Domestic : $12M Needed (52%D / 48%I) [FINAL]

You missed the part where movies not made by Hollywood, even if just as good (Sisu for one example), make only 5% of what a genuine Hollywood product makes.

It's a good thing you're not an accountant, because you have no idea how to balance books or what actually makes something profitable.

SPOILER ALERT: If you spent more money than you made in the end, you didn't make a profit no matter how much income you generated.

SPOILER ALERT 2: If you spent so much that you hardly generated a profit at the end, the guy who spent 10 to 30 times less than you did needs to make 10 to 30 times less money than you do before every extra dollar becomes profit.

SPOILER ALERT 3: In terms of percentages made vs. budget, 7 out of the 10 most profitable movies so far in 2023 had a budget of $35 Million or less. 6 out of the 10 most profitable movies so far in 2023 had a budget under $20 Million. Only 3 of the most profitable movies so far in 2023 had a budget of exactly $100 Million.

SPOILER ALERT 4: In terms of percentages made vs. budget, Disney doesn't even show up until 15th place on the list for its first movie that generated any profit for the company this year. If the Rule of Thumb is 2.5x in 2023 instead of 2.0x, it Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 will likely be the only movie that Disney put out this year that made any money at all. The only possible exceptions to that would be some of the micro-budget movies they still have to release this year.

SPOILER ALERT 5: In terms of actual cold hard cash generated after costs, the lists aren't any kinder to big budget movies, mostly Disney created in 2023, but even outside of Disney as well.

As a whole, as far as movies that have completed their Box Office run this year, there have been 13 movies in the worldwide top 50 that generated $958,677,847 in actual profit in the Box Office. 8 of those 13 had micro-budgets of $20 Million or less. 1 of those 13 had a budget of $35 Million. 1 had a budget of $70 Million. 1 had a budget of $100 Million.

The other two had budgets of $200 Million and $340 Million and only account for $64 Million and $39 Million of that total $959 Million in 2023 profits, respectively. Barely 10% of the actual 2023 Box Office profits so far going to movies that cost more than $100 Million to make.

As far as the finished movies that have lost money this year there are 6 movies totaling losses of $459,792,750. None of them had a small budget. Two of them had a budget of $45 Million. One a budget of $70 Million. The other three "blockbusters" had budgets of $125 Million, $130 Million, and $200 Million.

Hollywood hasn't even made $500 Million on finished movies in 2023 so far after the losses, and the majority of that profit has come from small budget movies.

but JEWELSTAITEFAN posted dates for
Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Belize, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, UK, Ireland, Spain.

The film producers struggled for 5 years to get ANY release at all. Now they are scrambling to catch up to demand.
Some English speaking venues just need legal pathways, some Spanih speaking venues just need dubbing, with most of the cast already Spanish speakers. Countries with other languages likely need more time.

Angel Studios is working on it. They also state that more release dates are rolling out every week.

You're not helping your argument here.

And you're certainly not helping Disney, who's stock is currently sitting at $86.83, when it was at a peak of $197.16 on March 12, 2021.

Your argument in defense of Disney after their stock started plummeting before Lightyear come out was that Disney matches pace with the S&P 500.

On March 12, 2021, the S&P 50 was sitting at $3,943.34. Today it is $4,518.44. Disney stock is now worth 44.04% of what it was at its peak 2.5 years ago, and meanwhile the S&P 500 has increased in value 14.58%.

That's quite bad news for Disney if they've been cooking the books and the best they can do is lose 56% of their stocks value after using creative accounting to lose a billion dollars on their movies in the box office and another 3 billion dollars in 2023 on their streaming service.

It doesn't seem to make much sense to do that to avoid some taxes and avoid paying royalties. Especially when you've spent the last 10 years destroying your brand.

You never win any of these arguments because you can never keep your arguments straight. You have zero memory, and I remember every contradictory argument you've ever made.

This linky also reports that RT has a 99% rating among audience members. Updated as of 31 July.

I can assume that a 100% score would be impossible from a group such as "audience."
But how common is it to have 99% score? I don''t pay enough attention to that system. And I don't have access to "updated" scores, only what the initial release ratings are.

]I suspect Mansion won't have higher $ Per theater than SoF for Wednesday.

My suspicion for Wednesday was premature.
2 days later, on Friday, Mansion dropped to $724 per theater, and SoF held at 744 per theater.
On Sunday, Mansion had $763 per, and Sof had $836 per.

Bruce pointed out that the entire Box office, for the entire spectrum of movies, was down 11% from expected.
Without knowing this, 6ix indicated SoF would not get higher than $7M. And I said SoF would not be lower than $8M. With the 11% missing Market, one could expect $8M to drop to $7.12M.
SoF landed at 7.570422, and had more $ per theater than Mansion.

The past weekend had a market-wide drop of 11% in Box Office, and this wiped out my predictions.

But I have still been noticing trends, and I'll make a table to help show this.
I fully expect most folk will not have interest in this, but I think it is curious. Not only because Sound of Freedom is such a wonderful film, but also because it is breaking the mold, much like Maverick did last year.

Barbie has been benefitting from strong summer weekday sales, which SMB did not have. (SMB is a Seth Rogan film?) SoF has had strong Saturday and Sunday figures, the days when honest working folk are not working.

Over the weekend, Barbie made 53.0% of it's Production Budget. Sound of Freedom made 54.0% of it's Production Budget.

I m using $14M as the Production Budget figure for Sof, and $100M for Barbie. Barbie's international balances may bounce around, but this table is using the stated observation of 47.5% Domestic and 52.5% International.

All figures not tagged with % are Millions of Dollars.
For Barbie figures, the same figures are both $Millions, but also % of Production Budget.
1st column is Date.
2nd column is SoF Single Day BO.
3rd column is Single Day BO % of Budget.
4th and 5th are Total Cummulative Box Office, and then % of Budget.
6th and 7th are Last 7 Days of Box Office, and then % of Budget. All for Sound of Freedom.
8th column is Barbie single Day Domestic Box Office.
9th column is the % of Budget gain on SoF % for the same day.
10th column is the Total of Barbie's Domestic Box Office.
11th column is the total of the Last 7 Days of Barbie's Domestic Box Office.
12th is the % gain on SoF for the same Last 7 Day period.
13th column - 18th columns are the same things, but for Worldwide Box Office.

Then again on 5 and 6 August.

I didn't say it couldn't get higher. $6M to $7M was my expected range, but I made no hard statements about it. Price is Right rules and I beat everyone. I did say that it wasn't going to make the $9 Bruce predicted and certainly not the $10M on your high end.

Monday's numbers:

1. M3GAN - 1,475% [FINAL]
2. Super Mario Bros - 1,355% (-2%)
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,179% (+8%)
4. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,144% (+6%)
5. Barbie - 1,043% (+10)

SoF needs 177% to beat SMB.
SoF needs 297% to beat M3GAN.
SoF is 136% above Barbie.

Sound of Freedom down to only $1 Million and change today. It did manage to beat MI7 by $16k, and is less than $200k behind Haunted Mansion already.

Barbie still somehow is managing $9 Million on a Monday. Unbelievable. It's got a 44%/56% Domestic/International split after the weekend, so probably got another 10% internationally so far.

It appears that international weirdness has struck once again and Bruce is now reporting $2M less for Super Mario Bros than was being reported on Sunday. I noticed this yesterday and changed the percentage in the list but didn't make mention of it since I don't want to make the weekly 4 list posts even more bloated than they already are.

I'm coming out and saying it right now that unless something strange like an outside entity making a resurgence of interest in SoF were to happen, or a renewed interest in the flick once international audiences start to see it, there's no way it's beating M3GAN for 1st place on the Worldwide Box Office vs Production Budget without good help from international numbers when and if they get released outside of the US.

It's still going to need just shy of $24 Million to beat SMB, or just slightly over $24 Million if that $2M gets added back to SMB internationally in the coming weeks. It's going to need just shy of $42 Million to beat M3GAN.

$24 Million Domestic is now looking iffy. $42 Million is basically impossible.

In List-Making news:

I still couldn't add any movies to the lists of actual money gained/lost on completed films for last week because some long-time movies are still stubbornly holding on to theater counts. Guardians 3 is still in 33 theaters and has grossed $25,402 since Friday. The Little Mermaid is still in 90 theaters and has grossed $61,262 since Friday. Super Mario Bros added 56 theaters back for a total of 152 theaters and has grossed $35,115 since Friday. The Flash is in 26 theaters and has grossed $68,653 since Friday.

Just pull them out already. In total, including all weekend, the 4 movies haven't even pulled in $171k.

Oh...

And fuck TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and their April O'Neil race swap. It appears they made her ugly too.

I didn't know that the April race swap was a thing, and only now am I finding out that it's "Seth Rogan's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem".

Angel Studios won't say how much of the film's $164 million domestic take comes from donated tickets or those bought directly by a moviegoer.

August 8, 2023 11:06am

The film’s blockbuster performance has no doubt been boosted by Angel’s mastermind plan to change the way movies are distributed through its innovative “Pay It Forward” model, whereby people are urged to buy and then donate Sound of Freedom tickets for others to use. Those “others” can grab a code off the Pay It Forward website and then redeem it using major online ticketing services or an individual theater.

But how money is used from unredeemed tickets is at the company’s discretion, according to this standard disclaimer on the website: “Upon submitting my Pay It Forward contribution, I acknowledge and agree that Angel Studios will make reasonable efforts to use Pay It Forward ticket sales for the audience growth of the intended film or series. However, Angel Studios becomes the owner of all funds upon receipt and may use them at its sole discretion to further the Angel Studios’ mission of amplifying light through impactful stories.”

Right-leaning audiences dismiss criticisms of the movie from the left and mainstream press as the thoughts of “pedophiles, satanists and other malicious parties,” while left-leaning audiences found the movie’s messaging tactics to be aligned with “QAnon, racism, white supremacy, Christo-fascist, anti-Semitic and an overall deceitful work.”
