I had hoped to like this flick. Premise seemed ok.

Turns out, this is supposed to be a buddy flick, for The Rock and Chris Evans. 2 guys forced to work together, they don't like each other, and they also work alone every time.

Title character is played by JK Simmons, and he and Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus don't get nearly enough screen time.

The Rock's decision-making for which project to make seems weird. He seems to use the same amount of depth for his career as his character in Be Cool.

The CGI in Red One was pretty lame. The fuzzy, grainy, unfocused elves all look like clones of each other - what was the point of the CGI? Some "Elf" types are actual human actors, but with feathers and such glued to their head.

The action CGI does not hesitate to jump the shark, ala Indiana Jones.

It seems like the producers just didn't care enough to make any effort.

Story doesn't really follow established canon, so why would kids like it?
Non-kids might not put up with how lame it is.

Trivia: Bonnie Hunt was in Jumanji. The Rock was in Jumanji reboot.

I liked it. I have recommended it to several people.

I think the farmers insurance commercials advertising the movie are great.

Probably watch it again when shows up on tv.
