Not Sci-Fi, not really action. Although the European actors in it describe it as Western, it is merely set in the American West.

I mention it here because if you are a fan of the non-linear chronology of scenes, then this may be what you're looking for.

The leading character, protagonist, is female.
Less action than Jane Got a Gun, but it seemed a similar cinematography feel.
All of the scenes are shot in Europe, but the settings are American West.
Guy Pierce also did Momento, and you'll see why I point this out.
It also reminded me of Appaloosa, and now also Unforgiven.

The DVD include interviews with much of the cast.
This is the most mature film I've seen Dakota Fanning do.
