America loves a winner!

Tom Hardy. Great. Story, Pretty good. Overall, a good flick w/ some funny lines.

I think the movie was made in a hurry, and some of it ended up on the editors floor. I mean, it was nice to not have a nearly 3 hour long Marvel movie, for once, but still... seems like they could have added a good 10-15 minutes of quality stuff. I could be wrong.

Venom had a really good opening weekend, so that looks good for 2 more sequels. I hear Tom Hardy is contracted for 3, fingers crossed.

Good to see you visit again.

So, was it a horror flick? A superhero?

I'll need to check it out, now that you said so.

Thanks JSF. Nice to see a familiar face in the hold stomping grounds

Sci-fi, a bit horror, not sure I'd call Venom a ' super hero '. Probably more in the realm of Deadpool... Venom kinda does his own thing / their own thing, as it were , and , for now, it seems to be the lesser of other evils. So , I guess he's a ' good' guy ?

Per usual, I'm not at all versed in the comic book background of Venom, and only get what I see on screen. I wish they'd have spent more time on the process of how the symbiote and the host work, why some match while others don't, and the explanation of how they ' reproduce', if that's the right term.

Select to view spoiler:

As I understand it, there were 4 specimens which made it back to Earth. 'Riot' got free first, then found his way , via several hosts, back to SF, to reunite w/ the others. Venom and Riot were, I thought, the only 2 to survive the hosting process , is that right ? I know one died, but am not sure where the other went , or if that one died as well. I don't know how Carnage comes into play, unless he's the son of Venom ? I would welcome a primer, on the whole thing. Venom is quite likable, to be honest. Hardly a ' bad guy ', at least, as long as he's paired w/ Eddie.

It started slow, for quite a while, but picked up at the end. I have not heard of it before.

I usually enjoy Jenny Slate work, and I liked her work here too.

There were 2 codas. One kinda short just before the main cast scroll. The other near the end of credits, just after the music credits.

I couldn't quite tell if there were gags in the credit listings.

Remington Steele?
Mike Tyson?
Several others I can't recall now.

I can go with Robert Rather as some minor director.

Did anybody else notice any? Or know what the deal was?
