Today no changes from Bruce.

BOM added Russia, and also updated UAE - with full details for the week.
UAE: Larger weekly BO than last week, and largest weekday BO since it opened on 17 August.
Weekend BO ranked #7 - the highest so far.
Ranked #4 in $ per theater.

Updating:

Sound of Freedom International Box Office.

I think I need to start a new table for this. Data is hard to come by, is not transparent, and seems to fluctuate a bunch. I will need to use Box Office Mojo for source data, and work from there. If other data becomes available, I will try to reconcile that.

Legend:
Each nation's entry is comprised of 2 lines.
In the first Identifier places, the order is by the stated Release Date. Next is the Country Abbreviation.
In the line below that, the Maximum number of theaters I could find for a film in that country. Then the day which they start their weekend, according to their Box Office Results. This is either Thursday or Friday.
The remainder of the columns have weekday figures in the top line, and weekend figures in the 2nd line, plus the subtotals.
The column labeled Date Range has the range of dates for those figures.
Next column is Box Office for those dates.
Next is the Rank of that Box Office figure.
Next is Theater Count.
Next is $ per Theater Average.
Next is the Rank of the $ per Theater figure.
Next is the Total, for weekdays only.
Next is the 7 Day Totals, which is both lines added together.
Next is the Rank of that 7 Day Total Box Office (when available, or calculated).
Next is the Cumulative Total for that Country.

Then are selected figures from the Prior week, to reference for comparison.

Data is culled from Box Office Mojo. Countries with Asterisks are using data from The Numbers - mostly because that data is not available on BOM.

Fields highlighted green are values greater than the prior week. Box Office, rank, theater count, $ per theater, rank, weekly total or subtotal.
Figures highlighted red are intended to be placeholders for fields which are waiting for updated or current data.

I did check online and there's still quite a few showings for Sound of Freedom at theaters near me, so it's still in the Domestic theaters even though there hasn't been an update for those in over a week.

We still haven't gotten an update on Sound of Freedom since Tuesday.

Talk To Me's Domestic weekend is the only movie on the list that is still projections and not actual numbers, and it's after 7PM on Monday.

Though TTM got a couple of bucks internationally on the-numbers.com, it's obvious it didn't get the weekend update and Bruce hasn't yet reconciled his internationals with whatever BOM has been reporting.

... Maybe tomorrow.

Saturday/Sunday's Numbers (Pre-International):

1. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
2. Sound of Freedom - 1,455% (+0%)
3. Talk to Me - 1,444% (+22)
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF needs 54% to beat M3GAN. (About $8 Million)
SoF is 11% above Talk To Me.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

Four days later and the situation isn't any better...

I've noticed very small additions to Talk To Me in the countries it's still showing in this week, so with the exception of the Japan release that may or may not even come out until after Talk To Me is released online, I don't think there's very much more international action with Talk To Me at this point.

Here's what TTM did last week in the countries that got an update:

France: $32,331 (-53.2%) / Next Weekend Guess: $16k
Spain: $30,303 (-47.4%) / Next Weekend Guess: $15k
Netherlands: $42,826 (-18.2%) / Next Weekend Guess: $21k
UAE: $1,008 (It's dead here) / Next Weekend Guess: $0
Portugal: $11,371 (-64.5%) / Next Weekend Guess: $5k
Hungary: $5,218 (It's dead here) / Next Weekend Guess: $2k
Columbia: $353 (It's dead here) / Next Weekend Guess: $0
Russia: $23,741 (-50.1%) / Next Weekend Guess: $12k
New Zealand: $2,043 (It's dead here) / Next Weekend Guess: $1k
Hong Kong: $61,455 (Opening Weekend here) / Next Weekend Guess: $38k

TOTAL GUESS FOR THIS WEEKEND ON THESE: $110k

Here's the countries that haven't been updated in a while that are still doing business:

UK: No update since Aug 18-20 (It made $151,116 that weekend, so probably not more than another $500k there max).

Poland: No update since sep 8-10 (It made $37,265 that weekend, so probably not more than another $40k there max).

Germany: No update since July 27-30 (It made $311,970 on that opening weekend, so probably not more than another $500-$600k there max).

Turkey: No update since Sep 8-10 (It made $28,802 on that weekend, so probably not more than another $25k since then.)

Mexico: No update since Sep 8-10 (It made $386,523 that weekend, so probably another $250-$300k since then).

TOTAL GUESS ON THIS WEEKEND AND UNREPORTED INCOME FOR THESE: $1.3 Million.

These are the countries listed on BOM that haven't had an update in a while but aren't likely to contribute much of anything anyhow:

Norway: No update since Sep 1-3 (It made $5,986 on that weekend, it's basically dead here).

Bulgaria: No update since Sep 8-10 (It made $948 on that weekend, it's dead here).

Czech Republic: No update since Aug-31-Sep3 (It made $5,846 on that weekend, so it's basically dead here.)

Lithuania: No update since Sep 8-10 (It made $4757 that weekend, so it's basically dead here.)

Slovakia: No update since Aug 10-13 (It made $5,545 that weekend, so it's basically dead here).

Iceland: No update since Sep 8-10 (It made $649 that weekend. It's dead here).

Vietnam: No update since Sep 8-10 (It made $623 that weekend. It's dead here).

GUESS ON TOTAL UNREPORTED REVENUE FOR THESE: $40k max.

My guess is that in addition to the $4.3 Million that Bruce hasn't added for TTM in addition to unreported money at BOM (including business through this coming weekend) is in the area of $5.6 Million.

Another $1.3 Million would be enough to give 2 more bumps to TTM from those numbers above, so it would be at 1,578%

With that in mind, if we were to use BOM's current figures for TTM and an additional $1.3 Million for what I believe they're missing, here's what the list looks like now. (Without any changes at all to SoF other than using BOM's current numbers over Bruce's current numbers).

1. Talk to Me - 1,578% (+134%)
2. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,462% (+8%)
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF needs 117% to beat Talk To Me. (About $17 Million)
SoF needs 47% to beat M3GAN. (About $7 Million)

Though probably not likely, there is a small chance that at the end of this weekend with Brazil's opening weekend included, SoF could get the $17 Million that it needed if Bruce were to update absolutely everything as of Sunday night.

The likelihood of Bruce doing that is slim to none though, and I don't think SoF would quite do that good anyhow if he did.

But now that TTM has slowed basically to a crawl worldwide except for the future Japan release that might be helpful, SoF shouldn't have any problems taking 1st by the end of next weekend and then keeping it for the rest of the year.

That's an additional $1,143,488, as opposed to the additional $4.3 Million or so at BOM for Talk To Me.

BOM doesn't give us a whole lot to work with, but they did release Sep 14-17 numbers for Columbia, which was $611,764, or only a 30.9% drop after the previous weekend's 19.5% drop. It's probably well over $10 Million in Mexico at this point. Maybe in the area of $12-$13 Million.

The difference between BOM and the-numbers for SoF has grown to $1,704,288 this morning from $1,143,488 last night.

I see those. And then I realized that because of BOMs reporting I can't even tell what else has been updated with new numbers because I never bothered archiving them to compare. I suppose I should since Bruce is falling asleep at the wheel here.

Talk To Me gets its Domestic update through Thursday, so apparently somebody is still doing their job at A24. Not sure if Angel Studios laid off all of its staff or something.

I'm going to make a list going into the weekend based off of what BOM has for International numbers on the two films, what the-numbers has for both of them Domestically, and then just add the missing days from Wednesday to Thursday for SoF giving it a 55% drop from the previous week, which is what it appears to be at.

It's all theory at this point, but not much else can be done about that until actual numbers start coming in.

TTM BOM International: $22,321,290
SoF BOM International: $29,270,012

TTM The-Numbers Domestic: $47,193,786
SoF The-Numbers Domestic: $183,234,204

SoF's missing 9 Domestic Days at .45% of previous week: $325,174

TOTAL TTM: $ 69,515,076
TOTAL SoF: $212,829,390

Based off of that...

Thursday's (Theoretical) Numbers:

1. Talk to Me - 1,556% ()
2. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,469% ()
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF needs 88% to beat Talk To Me. (About $13 Million)
SoF needs 40% to beat M3GAN. (About $6 Million)

But that's still very heavily weighted in Talk To Me's favor, given the $4,340,453 that BOM shows internationally above the-numbers vs. the $1,704,288 that BOM shows internationally above TTM for SoF. Especially when you consider that SoF leans much more toward its infancy in its international run than TTM does and BOM's newest numbers for TTM are much more recent or the same week as SoF's in every case. Also, SoF got its Brazil release last night, which may prove to be it's biggest international market, which I'm basing off of the numbers that Blue Beetle has gotten in Brazil vs. Mexico.

I stated yesterday it was my belief that if TTM's numbers were up to date as far as they've listed them on BOM, I expect that by the end of the weekend there would be an additional $1.3 Million going to TTM internationally by the end of the weekend were it updated this time. Add another $370k to that for Domestic this weekend (considering a 35% drop like last weekend), for $1.7 Million additional for TTM by the end of this weekend.

Now we'd be at roughly $71.2 Million for TTM at weekend's end, worldwide.

In the 15 of 18 Latin American countries reported at BOM that aren't Mexico, BOM reports $12,384,396. Mexico is $7,477,850, for a total of $19,862,246.

Columbia is the only country with any real data to make inferences from: https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl3869803265/weekend/

1st Weekend: $1,098,931
1st Week: $523,619
2nd Weekend: $885,026 (-19.5%)
2nd Week: $352,474 (-32.7%)
3rd Weekend: $611,764 (-30.9%)

Columbia is the only country we know for sure has been updated since after September 12th, when Mexico was last updated. But we can assume that not much, if any, new numbers have been updated for these other Latin American countries so far since on September 11th BOM's international total was already $26,928,706, which is only $2,341,306 less than it reads 11 days later. We know that $964,238 was the update through last weekend for Columbia. We know that $82,111 was the update through last weekend for New Zealand. We know that $137,202 of that was Russia's opening weekend. We know that $480,201 was UK's update through last weekend. We know that $241,392 is UAE's update through last weekend. That brings us down to only $436k difference, and I haven't even bothered adding up smaller additions like Croatia, South Africa, and every other country listed under "Europe, Middle East and Africa".

In other words, if any new money was added to the Latin American countries since the 12th, it was insignificant.

So I'm going to go very conservative here and estimate a 50% dropoff week to week in all of those Latin American countries besides Columbia (as well as assume a 50% drop off this last unreported week in Columbia. I'm also going to assume that the totals for the combined gross after the 2nd weekend on all of these countries mirrored the 228% of the opening weekend like they did in Columbia.

So with a grand total of $19,862,246 reported in Latin America, minus the update last weekend for Columbia it comes out to $18,898,008 in LA up through the weekend ending September 10th. So with that figure in mind, these countries would have had a combined opening weekend of right about $8,289,000 in order for the $18,898,008 after the 2nd weekend to be 228% of opening weekend.

In other words, that means after the $8,289,000 opening weekend in Latin America, it made a further $10,609,008 the next 7 following days through the 2nd weekend.

So... 50% drops per week from there would be $5,304,504 through last weekend and a further $2,652,252 through this coming weekend in Latin America, for a total additional $7,956,756 unreported in Latin America through the 24th of September.

And this does not include the 2 Latin American countries that they haven't reported yet (I think JSF said one of them was the Dominican Republic, but I don't remember what the last one was).

Add another half-Million for everywhere else outside of Latin America except for Brazil.

And I'm going to go EXTREMELY conservative here and just give Sound of Freedom what Blue Beetle got on opening weekend in Brazil, for another $2.2 Million. (Even though BB made $2.7 Million opening weekend in Mexico and Sound of Freedom made $3.5 Million opening weekend in Mexico).

So with what I feel are my VERY CONSERVATIVE estimates that don't even include two countries we know it has been playing in for the last month, that's another additional $10.7 Million that should be grossed Internationally up through this weekend that remains unreported on BOM along with the paltry $80k or so it might make Domestic for SoF.

That would be $10.8M more for SoF and $1.7M for TTM on the (Theoretical) chart for Thursday above and we'd have the following...

TOTAL TTM: $ 71,215,076
TOTAL SoF: $223,629,390

Weekend (Theoretical) Post-International Numbers:

1. Talk to Me - 1,578% ()
2. Sound of Freedom - 1,545% ()
3. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF needs 34% to beat Talk To Me. (About $5 Million)

And at this point I would venture a guess and say that TTM is virtually dead. But since it does get a 22% per million bump and still could get up to 2 more of them, it could end up with 1,622%, at which point SoF would need $13 Million more to take 1st place.

With 50% drops week to week and an opening of only $2.2 Billion in Brazil like Blue Beetle got, that wouldn't happen, but with another $3 Million by next weekend virtually guaranteed using those figures, it shouldn't have a problem making the $5 Million it's behind (theoretically) right now, for a total of around $228-229 Million.

But I feel that 50% weekly drops are quite a bit more than reality from the little data we can pull from BOM shows and I'm pretty sure it gets closer to $3.5 Million or more opening weekend in Brazil instead of the $2.2 Million Blue Beetle got. I'd say that $235-$240 Million is a good final number for SoF worldwide from the data I have at my fingertips right now.

Today Bruce updated Croatia, but the International Totak remained unchanged, since 13 Sept.

BOM had action.
Added Poland, although without any figures - apparently it opened 15 Sep.
Updates with figures were UK, South Africa, Iceland, Lithuania, Slovenia.
UK did more during the weekdays than during the weekend. The weekend drop was 27%.
Iceland and Slovenia each had their highest ever $ per theater, as well as the increased rank of that.

Nothing from Mexico since 12 Sep.

Man...

Talk To Me is really hanging in there well in the Domestic Box Office.

The projection for Friday is $129,545, or only a 20% drop. I thought for sure we'd see our first sub-$100k weekend day for TTM this weekend. It actually rose from $285 per theater the last two Friday nights to $308 per theater last night.

I think that tiny bit of data right there points to 1,622% minimum being just about certain in the end.

Sound of Freedom is going to need to do stellar in Brazil and have a much smaller than 50% week to week drops in Latin America to take first place. That, or we're going to have to have some concrete evidence that the budget was lower than what we've heard it was.

Still a bit of green in those updates, continuing to defy the "each week is lower performance" doctrine.

I'll try to add in some totals later.

Wouldn't it be great if Angel Studios got off of its ass and did some reporting?

No new or changed figures for the rest of the day, so I added in some totals.

This does not include unreported data for Mexico or Latin America except Colombia. Colombia had a 20% drop on it's 2nd weekend, and a 31% drop for the 3rd weekend. (meaning last week was 38.4% of the take from first 11 days. So about $6.3M might be the unreported amount).

Serbia updated last Sat night, so it might still by tomorrow.

Talk To Me's Domestic weekend is the only movie on the list that is still projections and not actual numbers, and it's after 7PM on Monday.

TTM is from UK, and they have never updated Friday through Thurs until the next Thurs/Fri. Their green projection numbers stay that way until then. Every week. I expect their update on Thurs or Fri.

No. They don't. There's been little rhyme or reason to how Talk To Me's numbers have been reported since the beginning, sometimes not updating for at least as long as we've waited for an update from SoF right now. But any "pattern" that you think you've witnessed is just imagined here.

Yeah. And they've gone two weeks without any updates like SoF too.

So they happened to repeat something two weeks in a row. Big deal.

Is somebody going to ever explain to us why BOM still shows more than $4 Million more internationally than the-numbers does for TTM?

Nothing at all makes sense in box office tracking for going on 3 weeks now. Given that the box office is shit this time of year and the movies we're looking at are doing even less business than that, everybody should be up to date right now.

I have "targets" that I expect from International, due to various factors. These are a reminder for me. They are likely to be wrong.

$14 M for UK
$7 M for Mexico, Australia, Brazil
$5 M for Peru
$3 M from NZ, Colombia, Argentina

These add up to $49 M. If they make half of that, plus another $4M from the rest of the world, then that would be $29M, and SoF would pass by Megan's 1505%.

I am not sure about some releases. Which countries are English speaking? I'll conjure that Spanish speaking countries will get a dubbed version of the film. Some countries with other languages, I don't know if they are being dubbed, or just released as "Foreign Language" film, like in art houses.

Updates from Bruce for International, plus BOM International are incomplete, missing, or conflict.

Let's see.
Mexico passed $7M before it's 2nd weekend ended, in 11 days. Check.
Colombia passed $3M in it's 3rd weekend. Check.
Argentina made about $1.8M in it's first 11 days, which is more than half of target, as mentioned. Still likely to pass $3M. Check.
Peru passed $1.7M in the first 11 days. No reason to not get to $2.5M - the mentioned half of target. Check.
Australia likely passed $3M over this weekend, it's 5th weekend. The Woke is strong here, but it might still make $3.5M - the mentioned half of target.
After 4 weekends, NZ has 25% of it's target. On the strength of Woke, this is a miss.
After 3 weekends, UK has 30% of it's target. On the strength of Woke, this is a miss.

Brazil opened this weekend.
BoxOfficeMojo is listing more than $29M of International Box Office. Check.

Yeah... I said you were way off base there in August when you said those numbers.

Latin America was always going to be what could bump SoF to #1 this year.

Europe/Australia/South Africa is a bunch of brainwashed self-hating Lefty shitheels like more than half of Canada and about 40% of this country is today.

The only X Factor I really saw outside of Latin America was Russia, but I wasn't surprised when it didn't do well there either. Honestly, given current foreign relations, I'm surprised it was even shown there at all.

It's going to do quite better in all the Latin American countries than you predicted. It's going to do quite a bit less than half of what you predicted in European countries, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. UK, being just about the worst European country in current year, is not going to even do 25% of what you predicted it would.

Nah. $2.216 Million is only 15.82% of your target $14 Million.

I was going to say it's not even going to make 20% of that, which it probably won't, but maybe it hangs on there for a while longer.

Another Monday come and gone and zero updates for SoF or TTM.

I wonder if anybody could contact Angel Studios and A24 directly and get more information, because Bruce and BOM have officially dropped the ball here.

Today Bruce updated Australia, NZ, Mexico. Total again remained unchanged, since 12 Sept. The first 2 early in the day, and Mexico sometime in afternoon or evening.
Mexico actually did better than the 38% factor that Colombia did.
Australia had a bunch of improved performance.

I'll update Mexico when BOM posts the update.
Nothing new today at BOM.
I expect Mexico to update at BOM tomorrow, possibly late at night. Might also get all of the other Latin America countries. Some countries only update every 2 weeks. These all updated on 12 Sept.

Today Bruce updated Australia, NZ, Mexico. Total again remained unchanged, since 12 Sept. The first 2 early in the day, and Mexico sometime in afternoon or evening.
Mexico actually did better than the 38% factor that Colombia did.

I'll update Mexico when BOM posts the update.
Nothing new today at BOM.
I expect Mexico to update at BOM tomorrow, possibly late at night. Might also get all of the other Latin America countries. Some countries only update every 2 weeks. These all updated on 12 Sept.

I don't understand this at all.

His report date for Mexico is now 9/25 (Today), with $10,973,752, but he took all that extra money for the week for Mexico out of the "Rest of World" pool.

Same with New Zealand, Australia and the UK, apparently.

That's about another $4.9 Million that The-Numbers is now going to be behind BOM's international figures once they update Mexico and the others on top of the $1,787,245 he was already lagging behind.

This is what his international graph looked like when I last archived it:

9/22: https://archive.ph/PUnBM#selection-16187.1-16190.0

The "Rest of World" total was $14,804,652 at the time. Now it's only $9,904,630. Yet the International Total remains exactly $27,565,724 today as it did on the archive from even the archive I took all the way back on 9/17 here:

https://archive.ph/PUnBM

WTF is Bruce doing?

Update on the Above post...

None of the numbers for the 16 Latin America countries on BOM have gone up since the archive I took on the 22nd here: https://archive.ph/URMtg

If you don't include Mexico's $7,477,850 they have on record, the rest of those 15 countries added up to $12,384,396.

Bruce's current "Rest of World" is now $2,479,766 less than that combined total, with no country-specific spots on his table for any of them.

Up until now, the-numbers and BOM were reasonably close to each other for the international totals, with BOM pulling away by close to $1.8 Million being only a recent event.

Of course, it would have been thought that his "Rest of World" total that had been up there for weeks now included all of these Latin American countries, but he's now treating that pool like it was predictive of what Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom was eventually going to make.

This is all very sus.

After my post last night, Bruce added in UK update, without changing a single digit of "rest of the world' or "total"
I assume it was last night because the update has the date listed as the 25th.

Pretty sure Bruce is using Voodoo math, being opaque and just making up numbers.

I'm not too hopeful about figures from Brazil. Bruce links are dead, not interactive. BOM looks pretty opaque, intermittent, even for Oppenheimer.

I would certainly like an explanation of what's going on.

What makes you say this? Do you mean you're not hopeful we're getting them anytime soon or that you don't think it did well there?

Yeah. I don't like how either of them handle the International stuff. I think BOM's system has the potential to be far better. But when they get updates so infrequently and without rhyme or reason, with the worst part being they only get detailed information on some of the countries. I don't understand why they only put weekly updates for the weekend on the international countries too, making you have to do a lot of work on your own for each week to figure out what it made during the week days.

I just noticed that BOM's total went up a bit today. I'm going to figure that out and post a little update.

BOM's International SoF Increases on 09/26/2023:

These are all of BOM's increases today over the archiave I took on 9/22 here:
https://archive.ph/URMtg

New BOM archive from 9/26 here: https://archive.ph/eHxMP
New The-Numbers archive from 9/26 here: https://archive.ph/CwvL3

INTERNATIONAL TOTAL: $32,788,261, up from $29,270,012 (+$3,518,249)

Lithuania: $41,914, up from $40,264 (+$1,650)
South Africa: $360,077, up from $326,451 (+$33,626)

NEW ENTRIES:

Poland: $82,957 (+$82,957)

And that's it...

So the international BOM total increased $3,518,249, but the only entries in the BOM tables that changed or were added total $118,233. So we've got an extra $3,400,016 added to BOM's international total that is not allocated anywhere yet.

My first thought was this was possibly opening weekend money for Brazil. But I just looked at the difference between what The-Numbers had last week for Mexico vs. Bruce's update for Mexico last night, and the difference was $3,438,609.

We already know from experience that it's kind of a rarity for both BOM and The-Numbers to show identical per-country numbers when they both get an update at the same time, so I think that's well within the margin of error there and it looks like BOM added Mexico's update and forgot to update the Mexico field with it.

No more new figures from Bruce today, but France is now on the roster.

2 hours ago BOM updated South Africa and Lithuania, but the new numbers don't seem to add up, so I suspect more is coming.
South Africa has some increase in performance again. Higher 7-day BO than the prior week, and more $ per theater for the weekend. Plus 2 straight weeks of both increased weekday BO and weekday $ per theater.

ETA:
For Brazil, I won't be surprised if it does well there. But I have doubts about getting the figures from either site, timely or complete. Try to show me any film with consistent figures or details reported from Brazil, and every week.

It looks like I probably owe an apology to you, JSF, for pointing out a pattern you noticed that I said didn't exist. We're going on three weeks in a row now where Talk To Me gets a projection for the weekend that doesn't get reconciled, and then there are no updates for it in the middle of the week. I'm quite sure it was not always clockwork like that, but it's gone on long enough for you to pick it up and I missed it.

If the projections by A24 are right, it had a pretty fantastic late-run weekend, losing only 19%, 21% and 24% on Friday through Sunday for a Domestic total of $47,647,317 as of Sunday. I'm going to split the difference here and call Monday's drop 30% for a Monday total of $41,913 and a current Domestic total of $47,689,230 through Monday.

I'm going to continue the numbers I added up through Thursday the last time I made a list using the same 55% drop week-to-week on SoF's missing numbers to get us up to Monday. (Now that we're missing 14 whole days, this is likely not to be very accurate at all... but at least it's something).

That would be an additional $87,918 for Friday through Monday on top of the additional $325,174 I calculated for the 9 missing days prior, for a total of $413,092 missing Domestic numbers.

So.... ACTUAL numbers for The-Numbers and BOM right now:

TTM BOM International: $22,365,361 (+$44,071 since Thursday)
SoF BOM International: $32,788,261 (+$3,518,249 since Thursday)

TTM The-Numbers Domestic: $47,641,317 (+$447,531 since Thursday)
SoF The-Numbers Domestic: $183,234,204 (+$0 since 09/12)

TTM's prediction for Monday at .70% of previous week: $41,913
SoF's missing 14 Domestic Days at .45% of previous week: $413,092

TOTAL TTM: $ 70,048,591 (+$533,515)
TOTAL SoF: $216,022,465 (+$3,193,075)

Based off of that...

Monday's (Theoretical) Numbers:

1. Talk to Me - 1,556% (+0%)
2. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
3. Sound of Freedom - 1,490% (+21%)
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF needs 67% to beat Talk To Me. (About $10 Million)
SoF needs 19% to beat M3GAN. (About $3 Million)

So I'm not going to bother theorizing what SoF and TTM will end up getting right now since nothing changed from my predictions on Thursday from the little new data we got in the last 2 days.

These above Theoretical numbers are simply what The-Numbers shows currently for both movies Domestic and what BOM shows currently for both movies Internationally.

Weird.
Poking around at BOM, rthe Mexico figures are in the Mexico page, but even refreshing does not update the main page, which lists the old figure for Mexico.

I'll add it in.

ETA: Also looks like all of the prior weeks of data for UAE have been deleted.

Well... That answer that. As I suspected, that wasn't new money from Brazil's opening weekend and that is exactly the $3,400,016 we were missing from the new money added on BOM since yesterday. Good catch.

How so? I see 4 weeks on there right now, up through Sept 14-17. The total of $729,261 also remains unchanged from the 9/22 archive.

So far today, nothing has changed at BOM.
The Numbers has added Russia figures from the weekend, but - again - not a single digit has changed in the "rest of the world" or "total" fields.

For Mexico, both sites display the same amount of data, although the digits are different.
At BOM, the Russia data looks the same. But Bruce has more data fields fleshed out for Russia.
I filled out the Russia figures in my table using BOM and conjuring that the fields would populate, flesh out. BOM is my stated default source. But BOM does not provide full data for Australia, so Bruce is the source I use there.
I will switch my data source for Russia to The Numbers. The numerical difference will be small, but the amount of data greater. I will change the current and future posts, but not past posts.

For UAE, the weeks of data are restored now. But it had been deleted, showing "no data to display" like the 14 Latino countries do. I had not seen this happen before, and it was alarming. So I triple checked, going into the page several times to confirm what I was seeing. Somebody must have been tinkering, because it all seems to be restored now - have not checked if it got corrupted.

It's the "International Total" field that remains unchanged through all these updates.

The "Rest of World" field changes all the time. That's where he's digging the money out of so the International Total never goes up, and why I asked WTF he was doing.

This morning, "Rest of World" reads $9,783,953.

Last night, "Rest of World" read $9,904,630. https://archive.ph/CwvL3

On 09/17, "Rest of World" read $14,804,652. https://archive.ph/PUnBM

Throughout all these changes, the "International Total" has remained $27,565,724.

As I stated on the 25th:

Quote:

None of the numbers for the 16 Latin America countries on BOM have gone up since the archive I took on the 22nd here: https://archive.ph/URMtg

If you don't include Mexico's $7,477,850 they have on record, the rest of those 15 countries added up to $12,384,396.

Bruce's current "Rest of World" is now $2,479,766 less than that combined total, with no country-specific spots on his table for any of them.

Up until now, the-numbers and BOM were reasonably close to each other for the international totals, with BOM pulling away by close to $1.8 Million being only a recent event.

To date, none of these Latin American numbers, excluding Mexico, have gone up at BOM since I made that statement on the 25th.

And in that same time period, the difference between BOM's international total and the-numbers international total has ballooned to $5,222,537.

With this morning's update, Bruce's current "Rest of World" field is now $2,600,443 less than BOM's total for the 15 Latin American countries they have up, excluding Mexico.

When he first added all that extra money, it was expected that this was all from Latin America and he just hadn't divvied it up yet. But when any international update happens on his page in the last several weeks, it comes out of that "Rest of World" total, now to the point where it comes nowhere close to covering the actual Latin America money dating back weeks ago as reported by BOM, when Bruce concurrently added all that extra money.

Yanno... I almost wonder if not reporting Domestic box office numbers is a strategic move on Angel Studio's part at this point.

It was clear after September 12th that the next weekend was going to be the first where it didn't make $100k per day (possibly not even on Saturday), and the following week was going to see the embarrassing type numbers that Disney movies get later in their runs long after they've overstayed their welcome.

With the Lefty shill media out in full force against this movie all over the world, why give the talentless hacks that will be replaced with AI soon a chance to talk about how little money Sound of Freedom was making in the states? You know how they can manipulate people with headlines. I could just see them now...

"Alt-Right QAnon Sound of Freedom falters and is rejected by Americans" or "How the Mighty Have Fallen: After Trump Endorses QAnon Conspiracy Theory movie, Americans Reject it Outright" or some such bullshit, citing the fact that it would have only made about $10k on Cheap Seat Tuesday yesterday.

I still don't understand why we haven't gotten opening weekend Brazil numbers yet though.

Although, I do see the following out there for Brazil now...

It looks as though Sound of Freedom was #1 in Brazil with a weekend box office total of $5,762,000.

I've said earlier this month I expect SoF to do $10 to $20 Million or more in Brazil and that I thought it would end up being SoF's biggest market outside of the US. If nearly $6 Million on opening weekend were true, both of those have already easily come true with a likely box office just north of $12 Million in Brazil after the 2nd weekend.

The guy who posted this on Reddit's "Box Office Theory" is supposedly from Brazil, and mentions that next weekend is Cinema Week there. I wonder how that would effect the numbers.

On September 22nd I made a post breaking down the Latin American countries and came up with a "missing" and "weekend" total of where I thought SoF would be at after Sunday worldwide:

Quote:

So with what I feel are my VERY CONSERVATIVE estimates that don't even include two countries we know it has been playing in for the last month, that's another additional $10.7 Million that should be grossed Internationally up through this weekend that remains unreported on BOM along with the paltry $80k or so it might make Domestic for SoF.

That would be $10.8M more for SoF and $1.7M for TTM on the (Theoretical) chart for Thursday above and we'd have the following...

TOTAL TTM: $ 71,215,076
TOTAL SoF: $223,629,390

Weekend (Theoretical) Post-International Numbers:

1. Talk to Me - 1,578% ()
2. Sound of Freedom - 1,545% ()
3. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF needs 34% to beat Talk To Me. (About $5 Million)

Now... This $10.8 Million only included an EXTREMELY conservative $2.2 Million opening in Brazil that I just threw out there because that's what Blue Beetle got, even though I said several times I think it would do MUCH better than that.

So that's an extra $3,562,000 on my prediction.

I also gave what I said was an EXTREMELY conservative 50% drop off in every Latin American country to build to that $10.8 Million figure, even though we knew that Columbia's dropoff was only 30.9% and it's since come out that Mexico made another $3,400,016 in the last two weeks (Up through Sunday). Given that it had $7,477,850 on the weekend ending the 10th, we can make an educated guess that there was around a 43% drop in Mexico if there were an even split both weeks (Week 4: $2,186,986 + Week 5: $1,246,582 would equal $3,433,568, which is just $33,552 above reality).

So if we disregard the 30.9% known drop in Columbia and just give the Latin American countries in that post a 43% drop instead of a 50% drop, that's an additional...

$10,609,008 (estimated 2nd week total of Latin American Countries)
Week 3: $10,609,008 * .57 = $6,047,134
Week 4: $6,047,134 * .57 = $3,446,867

That would be $9,494,001 from Latin America if we got all 16 of them up-to-date on BOM, instead of the $7,956,756 figured on 50% drops...

or an extra $1,537,245 on my prediction.

I said "just add half a million for all the other countries". That was another conservative lowball guess that probably isn't true, but we don't have enough data yet to know otherwise. The unexpected $90k or so from Poland helps.

So... Internationally, the additions would now be at least $15,756,001 with Brazil's $5.76 Million and the Latin American countries given a .57 weekly multiplier over a .50 multiplier.

Add in all the missing Domestic days through Sunday at .55% drop every day from the previous week for another $407,561, and a total of $16,163,562 new, unreported money from the $212,829,390 we had on the 22nd if you added The-Numbers Domestic with BOM's International and you now have $228,992,952.

And what did I say at the end of the post in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, September 22nd?

Quote:

Though probably not likely, there is a small chance that at the end of this weekend with Brazil's opening weekend included, SoF could get the $17 Million that it needed if Bruce were to update absolutely everything as of Sunday night.

Well... $16.16M is not quite $17 Million, but it turns out that it wasn't necessary with rounding (and my shot from the hip number) anyhow. We've got our $229 Million here right now, or 1,579% over Production Budget, which is enough to put SoF 1% in front of Talk To Me, with quite a bit of gas left in the tank in Latin America, specifically Brazil. And we know there are still at least 2 more countries that haven't been reported at BOM in Latin America that need to be counted.

Of course... We don't have any solid confirmation that the Brazil Opening Weekend number is real yet, and my numbers are still very much based in the realm of theory at this point, but it's a much more solid theory than it was only 5 days ago.

Here's what the numbers would look like if the scenarios around both SoF and TTM were as I stated I thought they were on September 22 with the changes made above:

TOTAL TTM: $ 71,215,076
TOTAL SoF: $228,992,952

Weekend (Theoretical) Post-International Numbers:

1. Sound of Freedom - 1,579% ()
2. Talk to Me - 1,578% ()
3. M3GAN - 1,508% [FINAL]
4. Super Mario Bros - 1,360% [FINAL]
5. Insidious: The Red Door - 1,163% [FINAL]

SoF is 1% above Talk to Me.

BOM Update:

International total now $33,758,985, up from $32,788,261 yesterday. This is $970,724 more than yesterday.

BOM is also now showing $6,193,261 more than Bruce is for International Total.

09/27 archive: https://archive.ph/mrIBx

Breakdown:

Poland added $169,893; $252,850 total. (+4.7% from last weekend)

Slovenia added $13,597; $59,954 total. (+18.4% from last weekend)

United Kingdom added $245,295; $2,459,814 total. (-49.7% from last weekend)

Columbia added $541,939; $4,013,753 total. (-40.8% from last weekend)

Quote:

I said "just add half a million for all the other countries". That was another conservative lowball guess that probably isn't true, but we don't have enough data yet to know otherwise. The unexpected $90k or so from Poland helps.

Not including Columbia because that's in the Latin America count, the new money from just those three other countries including ALL the money from Poland that came in after I said this equals $511,742 already. I probably low-balled "all the other countries" by at least a few million.

Chances are, we're actually already looking at about $231 to $232 Million as of Sunday the 24th. Who knows when the hell the bean counters are going to get off their asses so we can get confirmation on that though.

If I'm right, SoF has already made 1,600% to 1,607% of its Production Budget back worldwide now, and we've already hit the absolute floor that I predicted for SoF all the way back on September 12th when I said:

Quote:

Sound of Freedom is now a $230 Million movie. That's the absolute bottom going forward. This will put it up close to 1,600% with the $14.5 Million budget figure. If it somehow manages $240 Million, that would be over 1650%.

I now believe that 1,650% isn't only a possibility, but I'd be shocked if it didn't make at least $240 Million in the end.

By September 14th I had said $230 Million to $250 Million. That's still my range until more data comes in, but this could possibly even break $250 Million depending on how the Brazil drops come. If it really did make nearly $5.8 Million on opening weekend, it could have made another $7.5 Million alone the following week when next week's Brazil numbers come in, which alone would now get it up close to or beyond $240 Million.

Not quite.
When I posted that, the "rest of the world" was still at the 9.904M figure, which was after the Russia update was there. You looked at it after that.

At BOM today, updates from Poland, Slovenia, UK, and Colombia.

Slovenia and Poland each had more Box Office for this weekend than for last. And ditto for $ per theater for weekend. In fact, Poland had it's first weekdays in release, but that Box Office beat Opening Weekend, so I will be green-coding that figure as well, for the first time I've done.
Also, UK had, for the 3rd straight week, higher Box office for weekdays than for weekend. Although, unlike the others mentioned, UK has fewer theaters on the weekend than the preceding weekdays.

So far today, nothing has changed at BOM.
The Numbers has added Russia figures from the weekend, but - again - not a single digit has changed in the "rest of the world" or "total" fields.

Not quite.
When I posted that, the "rest of the world" was still at the 9.904M figure, which was after the Russia update was there. You looked at it after that.

That's not an argument to my point. My first archive was FAR before you posted that.

The "Rest of World" has changed very much since the initial huge International update Bruce put on the site. Always going down and being subtracted by the amount he's adding when he puts in a new country or updates an existing country. The International Total hasn't changed at all was my point, when it should be going up every time if it is new money.

You said neither of them have changed. I have around 5 archives of Bruce's international tab on file now for you to peruse. You don't even need to find all my links. Just use one of them and you can navigate to the previous and the next archive by clicking on the previous and next links at the top of the page.

I posted that the Russia figures were posted, while not a single digit of the rotw or total had changed. That was an accurate observation and statement.
Those 3 data points conflict with each other. I have seen that happen numerous times.
I was pointing that out, mostly for your benefit, since I doubt many others care about it.

If you need a list of data from different dates, I can provide such. However, the time stamps, which seem to be critical, I might not have recorded.

Oh. So you're saying that in that specific moment, the extra money was added to Russia but had not been taken out of the "Rest of World" total right away, and it was only later when I looked at it that the "Rest of World" had been subtracted from then?

I could see that happening... sure. BOM still didn't add the extra $3M+ to Mexico on the main page even though it's there when you look at Mexico specifically.

Really weird though...

Sometimes it comes off like Bruce does a TON of this shit by hand like I'm forced to do when making my lists by hand on this ancient Web 1.0 fansite. I might have more automation on my alternative tables than he does.

To this day, Bruce still doesn't have M3GAN listed on the Top 100 Worldwide list. It should be #29, just below Insidious: The Red Door. The fact that M3GAN is missing from that list makes me think that the process of procuring and cataloging his data for that list is manual. And if that one list is a manual process, how much of that website is he doing by hand every day? The dude must never get a break from sitting at his computer desk.

Attempting to extrapolate an estimate of Latin America Box Office for last 2 weeks, based upon performance from Mexico and Colombia.
This is not likely to be highly accurate, because scenes in the film actually take place in Mexico, Colombia, Honduras.

As of 10 Sept, the combined Box Office of the 14 other Latin American countries was reported as $8,912,582 by BOM.

At that time Mexico was $7,477,850 and Colombia was $2,507,576.

In the 2 weeks since then Colombia has added another 60.0% of it's total, which would suggest 14 others would have another $5,353,348 if they followed suit.

In those 2 weeks, Mexico has added another 45.47% of it's total, which would suggest 14 others would have another $4,052,357 if they followed suit.

If we ever find out, I wonder how closely those will align.

I think it is already another $1.213 M added since last week's totals. Not including the 2 week bump from Mexico.

I believe right now that Latin America is behind about $9,494,001. This is based off of the assumption that they had not been updated after Weekend 2. I don't have any archives of BOM until the 22nd, but it was all the way back on the 11th that I made a post about the massive SoF update when Bruce raised the total International to $26,928,706 from only $9.15 Million.

I'm pretty sure that outside of Mexico and Columbia, the numbers for the rest of the Latin American countries hasn't been added to since then. As I said, I don't have archives for it, but I'm going based off of what I've written in previous posts.

And because BOM only shows the "Weekend" on the individual country lines and not the full weeks, I was applying a 0.57* multiplier week to week on the other 14 countries, based off of what I would believe the 2nd full week to be after estimating what their opening weekends were using both Columbia and Mexico as a reference to get that figure.

So with two full weeks to add for the other 14 countries, my guess is $9,494,001 that is yet to be added to them. (All my figuring for that is in the posts over the last few weeks).

And in case you missed it, I posted probable evidence that Brazil made nearly $5.8 Million last weekend, so were looking at a possible increase of $15,756,001 that doesn't include the missing Domestic days, or any countries outside of Latin America yet to be updated.

My figuring puts us easily right around $229 Million worldwide, with the possibility of unknown factors pushing it up to as much as $232 Million as of Sunday, what with our known as-of-yet missing countries, any possible unknown missing countries, the missing Domestic figures, and the fact that countries outside of Latin America are doing slightly better than I thought they'd be doing.

$970,724 of that was just from last night (Detailed in a post earlier today). $169,893 was the initial update for Poland that went up just a few days ago (so all of the Poland money is new in the last few days), for a total of $1,140,617. Not sure where the other $72k came from though with the archives and notes I have.

Oh crap....

I was trying to figure out why your prediction was so different than mine is...

I forgot to subtract those new numbers from Mexico and Columbia from the total for Latin America.

That's $3,400,016 subtracted for Mexico, and $1,506,177 for Columbia for an overcount on my part of $4,906,193. So that's $9,494,001 - $4,906,193 = $4,587,808.

That comes in right about the middle of your two possibilities, leaning toward the low-end.

Well... That puts my figurin' right around $224 to $224.5 Million, without counting the known/unknown missing countries, the missing Domestic money, and whatever is still missing from non Latin American countries.

So we're back down to 1,545%, vs. Talk To Me's likely 1,578% right now.

38% isn't bad though. Just $5 Million more needed to get that, and there's no way that's not happening.

SoF should still be posting some pretty big numbers for a few weeks to catch up and then offset any bumps TTM might get in the twilight of its run.

No!

Gorramit! This is so freakin' confusing because they won't update their freakin' sites with legit and consistent numbers.

My numbers ARE right because they were from predictions I made long before Columbia and Mexico got their updates. Well... almost right.

Even at only $4,587,808 not accounted for in Latin America as a whole, if you add that and the $5,762,000 from Brazil's opening weekend to the current $216,993,189 that BOM currently shows worldwide, that comes out to $227,342,997.

Now... What I did do is double count the 3rd week of Columbia when I did my math, so that's $802,928 that I shouldn't have added when I predicted $9,494,001 that was uncounted. (This would be Columbia's known 2nd week of $1,408,645 * .57). I subtracted the 3rd week in Columbia before using my multiplier on the rest of the Latin American Total for 2 weeks, but then I added that total which included 2 weeks for Columbia in full to the BOM International total and ended up counting Columbia's actual known 3rd week of $964,238 and also the $802,928 portion of the straight .57 multiplier on top of that.

So...

I have to remove that $802,928 from the 227,342,997 figure. So that's $226,540,069.

My current prediction without the missing Domestic, the known and unknown missing countries, the non-Latin American missing numbers through Sunday and the missing Domestic totals since the 12th is $226,540,069 or 1,566% of the Production Budget.

I figured throw half a million in for non Latin American countries missing money and an additional $407,561 on the missing Domestic days assuming a 55% drop week-to-week every day for let's just call it another $900k.

$227,440,069 worldwide (Excluding missing countries) through Sunday the 24th, or 1,566% of the Production Budget.

THAT'S MY FINAL ANSWER!!!!

Data updates which I am hoping for:

Today - UAE, 7 days after last update 21 Sep

Friday - NZ on BOM, 14 days after the update on 15 Sep
Croatia, 14 days after 15 Sep update. I consider it past due for a 7th day update after it's 19 Sep update.
Iceland, 7 days after it's update on 22 Sep.

Saturday - Serbia, 14 days after it's update on 16 Sep.

The "other" countries are all more than 14 days past their 12 Sep updates.

I should make posts like that more often.

Within 4 hours, BOM updated Croatia, Iceland, UAE, NZ.

Croatia had a 1% drop on it's weekend. Which increased it's rank to 3rd. Also had more $ per theater, still keeping it's #2 rank there.
Iceland had the highest $ per theater for weekdays, of any week that we have data for.
NZ increased the number of theaters.
UAE still has the 5th highest $ per theater for the weekend - holding on since opening on 17 August.

No changes from Bruce.

I gotta say, with 1/10th the market size, Iceland is whipping a$$ on Lithuania here.

I updated the archive for BOM again here: https://archive.ph/IMxHI

$33,920,461 international today vs. $33,758,985 yesterday (+$161,476).

Croatia up to $246,464 from $202,342 (+$44,122)

Iceland up to $73,552 from $69,742 (+$3,810)

UAE up to $786,354 from $729,261 (+$57,093)

NZ up to $817,307 from $760,856 (+$56,451)

This is all peanut time here. These weekend updates are what the daily Domestic in the US would have looked like that first week they stopped reporting. It's why I kind of just threw everybody outside of Latin America (including the as-of-yet officially counted Brazil money) and the missing Domestic money into the "half a million" container in my predictions up through Sunday.

With all that unexpected Poland money, it's going to do quite a bit more than half a million, but it's still basically peanuts when you consider Brazil's uncounted cash and whatever it's still going to make in the rest of Latin America.

More unexpected minor bumps are always welcome though. It puts my prediction-if-everything-were-legitimately-counted-through-last-Sunday up to $227,601,545, which gives us the next round-up bump to $228M or 1,572%

Talk To Me is at $70,141,443 on BOM now, and both BOM and Bruce show the exact same amount for Domestic totals. So they're pretty much officially at 1,556% right now.

But they're way behind on reporting too. Even worse than SoF in some cases. Or... It's possible they're just not playing in some of these countries anymore too. There hasn't been an update for Mexico since the $386,523 it made the weekend of Sep 8-10. That could mean it's gone after 5 weeks, but that seems like a pretty decent amount to make to just yank it. No update in the UK since Aug 18-20th, but it only made $151,116 that weekend.

I dunno man... It's played for 9 weeks in the UAE that have been reported and it only made $1k on the 8th weekend and $3k on the 9th weekend.

No updates since Sunday Domestically, as per usual. With how little it lost the last week, it probably lost less than 25% every day so far, so it's probably got at least $625k more here in the states by Sunday.

I think I did some predictions on this a little while ago. It's hard to keep track of everything. I'm not going to do it again since it's such a PITA. I'm pretty sure I figured it would hit 1,600% before it was over though.

SoF should still beat that though because of Latin America, especially if that $5.8M in Brazil that I posted here from reddit is accurate.

Bruce took more money out of the international kitty where it shouldn't have come from.

It was $9,783,953 yesterday, and now it's $9,739,756, for a difference of $44,197.

International Total still remains unchanged at $27,565,724.

...

Looks like it's Croatia. $246,808 now, when it was $202,611 yesterday.

Russia had the $120,677 added on Wednesday, which also came out of the Rest of World.

Those two changes combined were the only ones since I made the last archive on the 26th, and they both add up to the $9,904,630 shown for Rest of World then.

New archive on the 29th: https://archive.ph/Gt4pu
