Just watched this and I think this was a good way to end the franchise. They used an interesting trick to show the 3rd round to the 11th. It was just the two characters in the ring and took away the audience and the ring announcers as well as the trainers. Then when the bell sounded the 11th round was over and they were going into the 12th.

The one thing that annoyed me about this film was that Adonis and his wife have a deaf child. She suppose to be around 6 years old and is being sent to a school for the deaf. My question is why weren't they trying to teach her to speak?

I never saw any of these. I'm pretty sure I tuned out of the Rocky franchise after Rocky V.

Was Creed a continuation of those later Rocky movies, or were they their own thing?

It must have been pretty decent. Creed III is on the short list of Hollywood big budget movies in 2023 that actually turned a profit for the studio. And since it was United Artists only big budget outing in 2023, that's good news for the studio in a year where some studios are losing anywhere from $100 Million to $1 Billion at the Box Office.

The deaf child thing was probably an afterthought on the part of the writers. Certainly, somebody with the money Creed had should be able to easily afford to get a professional speech therapist who knows about training deaf children to speak, even though that probably is quite pricey.

You'd be surprised though. I know two kids who aren't deaf that could really use some speech therapy and have parents who could afford it, but it's never been done. I don't know how to bring that up without sounding like a real asshole, so I haven't done it and just remain silent on the issue.

One of my brothers was able to see a speech therapist when he was around 4 years old because my old man had good health insurance at the time and that was a blessing. He talks perfect today, but had really abnormal speech patterns when he was an adolescent. I don't know how easy that is to correct once you get into your teenage years. I'm sure it's possible though. There's plenty of foreign actors who learned English later in their careers and can entirely lose their native accent when needed to for roles. But they're heavily incentivized to do so. It's probably not something that would come very easy for your average person who should have had that speech therapy before everything was pretty much locked in for life.

Political correctness is just tyranny, with a smiley face.

The Creed movies revolve around Creed's illegitimate son. The first two included Rocky training him but this third one he is on his own, pretty well. Duke Jr. is and his character was the son of Apollo's trainer Duke. Adonis has been world champ and Creed's wife basically took him in to keep him and raised him with her two kids.

I didn't know any of that.

The writers probably don't realize or understand that a deaf child can be taught to talk. It's hard. My mum worked knew someone with a deaf child and she sent him to a special school where he was taught to speak. And this was back in the 50s.

My brother had a mild speech impediment as a child and was given speech therapy through the elementary school we were going to. It still shows up now every so often when he is angry and such.

Actors going to coaches to loose their own accents for certain roles has been happening since the 30s.

JAYNEZTOWN

credit to 'Tessa Thompson' and her weirdo BLM Antifa politics for putting me off these new movies
Michael B. Jordan is also known for Erik Killmonger in Black Panther

I had watched the original Rocky '1976'? Although some of these films are considered silly the first movie is great, its actually a very good movie, the boxing feats however are cartoonish, he has ridiculous damage soak where he would beat his opponent letting them get gas-out by punching his face, he doesn't dodge and blocks blows with his face, wins by having them get tried by punching Rocky and each time Rocky would get back up, I think the second or fourth is with 'Mr-T 'and Hulk Hogan or the 3rd with 'The Russian' Lundgren was on tv a lot but I never watched them, the 3rd is like Rambo 3 Cold War Propaganda. Hans "Dolph" Lundgren a Swedish actor is a true tough guy I think he's Kyokushin Karate and I seen hinm box for real, I believe he hit Sylvester Stallone so hard he caused an internal bleed, although Dolph Lundgren might not be as 'hard' as martial artist Chuck Norris who at times almost does live up to his meme reputation, they would always pop up on tv whatever place I lived but I never got through them.

I only watched the first, it is a very good film and I can not review the rest as don''t remember much else of the series only fragments and you tuber clips, maybe he beats Apollo in the second film or Maybe Mr T is in the 4th or 2nd? James "Clubber" Lang, The 'Mr T' Laurence Tureaud A-Team actor also know by the character B. A. Baracus and 'Thunder Lips'? Hulk Hogan and Dolph Lunggren movies seem ridiculous but true entertainment. A real life boxer Tommy Morrison shows up in one of the movies maybe 5 or 6? could have been something but lived a party life and I believe was dying of AIDs and drugs and overall abuse on his body.

Actor Stallone does have actor moments he is not so one dimensional, Copland is a good movie and he is respected and is supposed to have an incredible work ethic, always gets the job done, Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay for the original film.
