Hey! Something funny came out of the 2024 Oscars at least.

Hillary Clinton reacts to Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig Oscars snub: "You're both so much more than Kenough"

Maybe she's trying to get a part in the next 'Barbie' movie as 'fat bitchy Barbie'?

Here's a thought. The last time a film was nominated for an Oscar and it was about Native Americans was "Dances with Wolves" 1990. Almost 40 years ago.

I hope it takes home an Oscar.

Showing once again how out of touch the Oscars "people" are, most of those Best Picture nominations aren't anything anybody has even heard of, let alone movies that came anywhere near the top 100 grossing films of 2023 (many of which lost a lot of money despite making that list).

Excluding Barbie and Oppenheimer, because they weren't Box Office losers and were the 1st and 3rd highest worldwide box office movies in 2023, here's a list of how much money the Best Picture nominations lost in the Box Office.

* Special note for The Holdovers...

I'm not sure how the hell that Alexander Payne and Co. managed it, but The Holdovers had a $200,000 budget. I know that he and Paul Giamatti are longtime friends, and maybe Paul owed him a favor, but the cast and crew must have been paid minimum wage for this. Disney would spend $200,000 on one week worth of craft service tables for their movies.

That being said, The Holdovers actually made 13,283.39% of its alleged production budget, which is far greater a return than any of the 74 US made movies that ended up in the Top 100 Worldwide Gross category for 2023. (More than 9 times the return of the number 1 movie Talk To Me).

On top of that, they managed to sell that movie to Focus Features for $30 Million after it was made, so Focus Features lost about $4 Million on it, but this should still be a very good deal for them as $4 Million will be very easy to recoup on this with plenty of money to be made years to come with streaming and other distribution rights, especially if it were to win Best Picture.

I do hope that everybody involved had a good contract and was going to get paid some sort of points on the back end, because somebody made a lot of money on this one, and with the stated $200k budget, it wasn't anybody who worked to make it.

I'm not going to say that every movie needs to be made for under a Million bucks, but the people in charge at big studios should be studying how stuff like this gets made and try to incorporate some lessons into their own productions.

Cankles Barbie?

Looks like the best film of the year has no nominations, right?
At least I did see Sound of Freedom at least 4 times, in cinema.

Jimmy Kimmel is back to host!

I'm just sure this is the year they get back up to over 40 Million viewers!

What are you guys thinking?

I'm thinking 15 to 18 Million idiots will watch this.

I wish I had more faith in the human race than that.

JAYNEZTOWN

at least they acknowledged Japan film is possibly killing them on arts, budget output

Napoleon, Creator were terrible but maybe that was the cut and paste nature story and took from the fx
Guardians was good old Marvel fun but the superhero thing is dead now.

I will admit I did not watch Napoleon since it got so many reviews call it dull, disjointed, dark and poorly directed, I seen a good high quality vid posted online but it was so boring I switched off, I might just watch a documentary instead

Mission: Impossible I can not comment and maybe will watch soon

to retain any honesty, Hollyweirdos need to admit they are being destroyed

Visual Effects

Godzilla Minus One
Takashi Yamazaki, Kiyoko Shibuya, Masaki Takahashi and Tatsuji Nojima
