I had a hard time finding this video on YouTube, but I watched it all the way back in early March or late February.

I haven't seen any trailers because I don't want any more spoilers that I haven't already seen here, but some people are calling the first trailer for this movie a "masterpiece".

This video won't ruin the movie for you. The guy says in the video that he has no idea what the movie is about from the trailer. Nick Cage is hardly even in the trailer and when you do see him he's under so much makeup you'd never even know it was him.

They're assuming it has a $10 Million budget right now, so there should be no problems with it making a good deal of money.

Most horror is trash, but this one looks really promising. Hopefully it's a hit for Cage. I've enjoyed movies from his late career, but they just haven't been moneymakers. Maybe the horror genre with its awesome budgets and Cage's personality is where he can thrive.

ETA: Oh yeah. I noticed on The-Numbers release schedule that it comes out this weekend, so preview night is tonight.

Damn dude...

Looks like Previews were good and word of mouth is buzzing on this one.

Bruce has Longlegs' opening weekend prediction at $31.6 Million. (He thinks $25 Million is more likely, but the model says $31.6). If the top-10 model is right, Longlegs is going to take 2nd place this weekend above Inside Out 2.

If the budget is only $10 Million, making 3 times that back on opening weekend in the states alone is not a bad start at all.

No Spoilers.

I saw Longlegs last week. It was not showing at my favorite cinema, so I had to go to one 50 minutes away.

I enjoyed it. I am not sure if you will be able to get the full initial experience on a smaller screen.

Audience was weird for this one. Lots of cellphones lit up all over the crowd, texting the length of the film.
2 large groups (of 10-12) came in at the last minute (seats were not sold when I picked mine.) Each group sat in 1 row, so not in a circle group. They all single-filed in and out, no stragglers.

Maika Monroe is the star here, and I hope to see more from her. Have not seen her before. Se plays an FBI Agent. At times, I got the sense of Silence of the Lambs. Some times, Suspect Zero.

The script plays out the storyline at a shuffle - not giving you enough to jump ahead. Therefore I don't want to give away anything, about plot, pacing, time sequence, foreshadowing, or else I would likely ruin it for others.

There is some foreshadowing, if you want to pay attention.

Reflecting on it, I could have expected this from Dean Koontz - although adaptation of his works usually fare poorly, and this would have been one of the best adaptations of his works. However, I think I have read all of his books, and I don't recall this story.

Thanks for the input. I know I want to see it, but it's probably going to have to wait until it's on the small screen. Maybe I can get my buddy to watch it and I can see it on a 70" screen at least. I don't know if he's into horror, but I know he likes Nic Cage, so I should be able to sell him on it.

Thanks for remaining spoiler free too. Going to do my best not to know anything about it until I finally get around to watching it.

The fake puter I am using likes to change the words which I clearly type. So I just corrected them again.

Nic Cage does play the title character. However, please do not assume he has a lot of screen time or is the primary role. I like his roles, but I'm not certain this film would have benefited from more screen time from him. Just right.

Regardless of Nic's screen time, this one was a big money maker.

Still no official budget on The-Numbers, but a google search shows >$10 Million. It's now grossed over $61 Million worldwide, or at least 610% of the production budget in 15 days.
