I'm down, Cenk. But you'd better be a lot more fucking picky about who you allow to join up than you've been in the past. That or you'd better defer judgement about such things to people who are better suited to make those decisions.

I'll tell you what. I agree with you and Ana in particular a lot more about things than I do anybody on any news network.

I can see you're tired of getting fucked every day.

Maybe we should do something about that.

I read it again, and I have to post it here...

Quote:

"I'm proud to represent the left flank of the populist movement, and I think we need both flanks. So I'm happy to have this conversation," Uygur said. "What has gone wrong in the Democratic Party is the same thing that went wrong in the Republican Party."

"But I do have to give you guys credit for a revolution well done," he said. "What I mean by that is not a revolution against the Democratic Party, or the left, or the country, but a revolution against the establishment."

"I want you guys to recognize that mainstream media -- you think they’re against the right-wing -- but they also hate Bernie Sanders. They also hate me. They also hate the populists on the left," he told the conservative audience. "What mainstream media really loves is the establishment and the elites. They’re against all of us combined. If we dare unite on issues we agree on, they will be livid, and it’ll be a beautiful day in America."

He offered this piece of advice to right-wing-populists: "Remember, guys, you also have donors. Beware of the donors. Don’t forget that, and don’t let your guard down."

"I can tell you definitively that the Democratic leadership and the Democratic establishment will never voluntarily go in a new direction. They will never voluntarily accept populism. They are built on donor money. They are of the donors, by the donors, and for the donors. What I need left-wing voters to understand is that they’re never going to give you what you want incrementally."

"I propose simple rules. The three rules of the internet: Rule number one, when we disagree, we fight. There’s nothing wrong with that, right? Rule number two, afterward, we must have a beer together. And rule number three, for God’s sake, when we agree, let’s unite," he offered.

"One of the turning points -- if you will -- in how I started to view the right wing was when you came on The Young Turks at the RNC. We started talking about banning private equity from buying residential real estate," Uygur said. "Now, all of a sudden, we’ve got right-wing populists saying, 'Let’s ban the bankers from buying our homes so they don’t drive up the prices.' Yes! The left needs to take yes for an answer. Take yes for an answer."

"What we got out of this election is that we’re no longer in an establishment prison. Now, we’re in the populist woods. If you say, 'Yeah, but we’re going to fight in the populist woods,' yes, fine, but at least we’re all human out here," he said. "We defeated the corporate robots, and we’ve got more fights with the corporate robots to come. But out here in the woods, when I see you guys, I don’t hate you anymore. I see my fellow Americans."

"In these populist woods, we’ll sometimes have skirmishes and battles, but the main thing I’m trying to drive home with the six points of the populist plank is this: higher wages for Americans, time off for moms after they have a baby, anti-corruption, anti-war, and accountability for the Pentagon," he said.

"The reason I pick those issues isn’t because they’re the most left-wing positions but because they’re the positions we all agree on. And God help the establishment if we actually work together to do those things."

The Populist Woods vs the Establishment Prison was good writing.

Yeah dude. Of course we're not going to agree on everything.

But we can act like men and bury that shit, shake hands and agree that we agree on most of the important stuff.

Personally, I don't want to go back to prison and I know there's a happy place in the middle to settle down... But the longer all this goes on you're going to see people trying to sneak back into prison if we don't find that place. The sooner the better.

So what do you propose? It's nice to get out into the woods and get some fresh air after all that time in the Establishment Prison, but nobody wants to live out in the woods for the rest of our lives.

What's the plan now, Cenk?

Not that I'm deferring to you, but you seem to think you have a plan and you are in a much more influential position than I'll ever rise to in my life.

My curiosity is piqued. Let's hear it.

Oh... and on a side note...

Ana flipped out on TYT when Cenk was saying the most likely outcome for Harris is that she will be California's next Governor.

She said she will quit her job and move out of California if that happens.

I think she's finally done with the modern Democrats.

Yeah... My bad.

By the time I noticed I'd posted this in the Cinema board I was already 3 posts deep into it or I would have moved it over.

It's stupid how many tabs in multiple windows I end up having before I start over. Sometimes if I've been bouncing around between cinema and RWED I accidentally do this.

Funny though... I don't recall ever accidentally posting a new Cinema thread in the RWED.

That's probably just a numbers game though. I probably make 5 times as many RWED threads and I probably post in there 20 times as much.
