BUZZFEED.COM - These hats were recently listed on Etsy and they have absolutely nothing to do with that guy in that TV show. They definitely wouldn't have anything to do with the recent 20th Century Fox crackdown on online sellers of Jayne hats...

Admire their chutzpah. The internet isn't as anonymous as people think. Plus all that Fox has to do is put pressure on Etsy to remove the listings, and Etsy will do it, because they're a for-profit business.

Makes us mighty and all that, but it's a battle they lost before they started fighting it. Not to say they shouldn't - even though this is bootlegging and theft of intellectual property and even though it's not like Fox is doing any merchandising themselves - still, I don't see this ending well.

Problem is all of those are theft of Intellectual Property, even if it's a neglected and abused Intellectual Property. Frankly, they could crack down on us here on this website just for writing fanfic. Like how they shut down that RP website. Heck, to keep up with that analogy, the RP site was specifically shut down for using still images from the show. The basic avatars here alone could get us in trouble.

And it only gets worse if you add on monetary exchange.
