Are there possible sequels if this does well?[/QUOTE First off it is a movie based just on the first book similarly titled. As others have indicated, Douglas Adams had completed a fairly complete rough draft of H2G2 just prior to his death. When production started on the movie his estate gave permission to use his script for the movie. Two other writters polished his script but left it mainly intact. All of this preface is important because Adams felt H2G2 was a living thing. He made changes to the characters and the storylines, even added new characters, so it is not going to follow the original book exactly. Some may not like this and may be expecting the movie to largely follow the first book. Second, Adams only wrote the script to the first book in his multi-book "trilogy." If sequals follow the new scripts would have to be written by someone else. Since Adams altered elements of the story from the book in his script, it will make writing a script from his other books difficult (i.e. they would probably attempt to incorporate his changes in the first book into any future sequals). Whether anyone else is up to the task is a huge question mark.
