Likes to mess with stuffs.

UPN should have picked up Firefly. Creativity must be at an all time low with Enterprise, they're doing Borg episodes.

From SCIFI.COM:

Quote:

An upcoming episode of UPN's Enterprise will feature the Borg in a sequel to events depicted in the feature film Star Trek: First Contact, the official Trek Web site reported. The episode, "Regeneration," starts with the discovery in the arctic of debris from the Borg sphere destroyed by the Enterprise E at the beginning of First Contact in 2063.

The episode features a guest appearance by Bonita Friedericy, the real-life wife of Enterprise regular John Billingsley (Dr. Phlox). Friedericy plays one of the researchers investigating the debris.

Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong wrote the episode. David Livingston directed. "Regeneration" is tentatively slated for May 7. Enterprise airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

God. I had no idea they were so hard up for original ideas. Perhaps they should bring Joss onboard the writing crew. Seriously though, they will seriously mess up continuity if they do this. In TNG, they had no idea about the Borg. Now they will be discovered 60 years before? Oh wait, there will be a time travel episode to fix this. I cannot believe I still watch that franchise.

Oi! If the crews of the Enterprise really existed, with all their time/space/continium tinkering, we'd all have been reduced to flavorless rice pudding by now.

I agree with you, Lasher, I can't believe I still watch Enterprise (and I do)

It's just stunning to me how boring Enterprise is when viewed by FF standards.

The closest ST can ever get to Firefly's liveliness and unpredictability is the ST original franchise, with a frisky Capt. Kirk at the helm.

Consider this:

On Enterprise, Captain Jonathan Archer is exploring space because he wants to “make friends.” (a direct quote)

On Firefly, Captain Mal Reynolds has been forced to settle on a career as a thief in an attempt to salvage his freedom as a man.

Right there, you can see why, at a fundamental level, Firefly is so much more engaging than Enterprise -- it has a broken heart at it's core.

Firefly is and adventure show grounded with an emotional stance.

Enterprise, by comparison, is just fluff.

I think Star Trek franchise continuity has been decimated already. I can't keep track of who did what when. It's all a big muddled mess. A two or ten year hiatus from all of these characters would do Star Trek a lot of good at this point. In the meantime Berman can pull a Lucas and re-do the special effects from the original series or something else to further anger Trek fans...

I haven't enjoyed these strange "new" worlds since DS9 went off the air. Fortunately, right as that show left us, I was introduced to the crazy mind of Joss Whedon.

However, if seven of nine (and her twins eight and nine of nine ) shows up on Enterprise I might be persuaded to watch for sh*ts and giggles.

Kirk was the man, there wasn't a woman delegate from another planet that didn't sleep with him on that show.

I still catch a few Enterprises every now and again, poor quality, expensive sets and I very much dig that Asian officer, what's her name? At least she had some depth, being claustrophobic.

It might be interesting to have Seven of nine of double-D on Enterprise. It could become the soap opera Star Trek Voyager became.

When you apply the quality of FireFly to everything else in this 'verse it gets a whole lot darker. Even Joss' Buffy and Angel are eclypsed by it.

Too true. I'm trying to find anything on TV that dosn't feel predictable and listless when compared to FF. I want to like Angel but find it a bit soapy. Enterprise has been totally eclipsed. The only show that provides any relief is West Wing and that doesn't fix the Sci-fi jones I've been left with. Moan.

I sympathize with you, man. There just isn't any good sci-fi on TV today even the epic Children of Dune Mini-series seems to be lacking. What happened to the golden age of SCI-FI? It couldn't have just been a fad....could it?

Time was, I was excited to see anything involving the Borg, but Voyager ruined it for me. "Oh, look, a Borg ship. Let's run straight at it with guns blazing, even though they're centuries ahead of us technologically." Boom! Zap! "Gee, the Borg aren't so tough after all. A lightly-armed exploration vessel was able to defeat them in combat." And don't get me started on how suddenly EVERY hostile race in the galaxy responds to diplomacy now!

Early: You ever been raped, Kaylee?
Kaylee: You know, it's funny you should mention that... ever heard of the Fox network?

Don't squat with your spurs on.

Your right. There's no good Scifi on TV anymore. Since Firefly went off I hardly watch any. I try to watch Enterprise but it doesn't cut it (though the communications officer is real cute and T'Pal may be poorly acted but she's got a smoking body). Somebody recommended 24 I haven't seen it yet, I don't think it counts as Sci FI anyway. It's even getting hard to see the Next Generation reruns since TNN started Blind Date late at night.

I've got just about every orginal Star Trek on Tape and most if the animated series based on it, I'll have to pull those out of the closet and give'em a look. I heard DS9 is on DVD, I always liked that show, maybe I'll spring for a set.

Your right, there is no good sci-fi TV left. Not to mention much good tv in general. Everything I watch anymore seems to lack in any originality or creativity. I watch Enterprise more out of desperation for a sci-fi fix than anything else. Firefly was beyond great. After reading the Trash teaser I got excited to see the unaired episodes. Then I got depressed not knowing if/when that will ever happen. At least we have the DVDs thanks to TRS80!

I'm sure your not making as much money as crack dealers though. Are you??? Oh, I might have to dive into the underworld of Firefly DVD dealing.
