My wife and I are fending off the summer rerun boredom by watching our complete set of the X-Files in order. However, we have reached an impasse in our dispute as to when we are supposed to watch the movie Fight the Future. Would you please resolve this for us and tell us between which seasons we should insert the film.

If I remember correctly, Fight the Future was released the summer between season five and six. I think that's right, because I'm pretty sure it was after season six that I stopped watching.
The series should have ended with the movie.

The fifth season finale aired on May 17, 1998 and the movie premiered a month and two days later.
