You know, for a second there, I almost thought Mohinder had been faking everything. Oh well.

And kissing your brother's killer while said bro lies dead a few feet away. This is going to end well.

Peter's so naive. Almost as bad as Mohinder. Actually, maybe worse considering the circumstances. But he's so gosh darn cute, I have to forgive him.

And apparently naivety runs in the family. One would think that if The Big Bad Company killed your father, they wouldn't hesitate to do worse for trying to expose them. But since she's grieving, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

One has to wonder what kind of deal Noah made. I don't think he'll go back to his old pursuits (I don't think), but who can tell? He's more than proven he'll do whatever it takes to protect his family.

Still waiting on Elle to die a horrible, painful death. And maybe take dear old dad with her. *crosses fingers*

So any bets on who's going to die? My money's on Nikki and Mohinder (or at least that's who I wouldn't mind going).

You know the first question that came to my mind is "how will fans rationalize Peter's naivety while still raking Mohinder over the coals?" Apparently the answer is "because Peter is so damn sexy!" In all honesty you are right about Peter being a little more foolish because he can simply read Adam's mind.

Mohinder on the other hand really is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He knows the Company created the virus, he also knows they engage in other very questionable endeavors. Unfortunately they represent the greatest chance of containing the situation from his POV. People may not like it but he was dead on when assessing HRG after his revival. Mohinder may be wearing blinders but he hasn't done anything to match the dubious behavior Noah has been party to. The whole "did it for my family" line has worn thin. I really enjoyed seeing him on the other side of the restraints for a change.

As soon as Sylar helped Maya control her ability I knew the jig was up with regards to her brother. His manipulation of the situation was evil genius at it's best. Showing the two of them kiss while her brother's dead body is just a few feet away hammers home how truly irredeemable he is(not that we really needed further proof). The closing scene of him stroking Molly's her was chilling. Where the hell is Parkman?

With regards as to who will die I'm thinking one of the folks in New Orleans: Niki, Micah, or Monica. I'm having a much harder time coming up with a second as so many of the other characters are so popular. I can't believe the show's creators would kill Peter, Hiro, or Claire. Perhaps Parkman...I hope not because he has become so much more interesting lately.

I think Nathan will be going. Seems his role has lessened and they introduced (and made us comfortable with) "flying boy" Wes. Maybe Nikki is the other.

I wouldn't want Nathan to go. Something can still be done with his character; they've just been lazy about his development this season. If they're going to get rid of one of the flyboys, let it be West. It's not like his character has gotten an altogether positive reception. Even Tim Kring said he had reservations about introducing his character.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Well, I had hoped that Mohinder had pulled some brilliant double dealing and was actually working to get Bennett on the inside with him, but nope, he's just an idiot who has bought the Company bull hook, line, and sinker. After his little rant at Bennett when he woke up I wanted him dead worse than ever.

I agree that Peter is naive, but I think he is starting to suspect Adam/Kensei is up to more than he lets on. Adam killing Victoria bothered Peter and Hiro showing up in Odessa at the paper plant and his telling Peter that Adam killed his father should help to further convince him that Adam is up to no good. I am thinking Peter may be using Adam for his knowledge to stop the virus. I have a feeling it will come down to a confrontation between the two over Virus # 138.

Yeah not sure where Claire is going with the whole "I'll show the world what I am and make them hunt you" line of thinking. I just don't see anything coming of that except for the rest of the Bennett family being KIA'd by the Company. Luckily it appears Noah is back next episode before Claire can screw things up worse.

I am thinking it will be Mohinder (to Sylar) and Niki (to sheer stupidity) who buy it next week.

FINN MAC CUMHAL

Peter has far less excuse to be naïve then Mohinder. And now I’m convinced the Peter needs to die, because he’s an idiot. Also we have a way to kill Peter. Finally, Peter Petrelli, aka God, can die from a gun shot wound to the head. Much like zombies, splattering Peter’s brains would seem to be his kryptonite. Although in the words of Bazaaro Buffy, “well, you’d be surprised how many things that will kill.”

Unless, of course, Peter has already read Adam’s mind and knows that Adam really is on the good side, somehow - stranger thing have happened.

As far as Claire and her threats to the Sparky girl, what exactly is she supposed to do? So she heals from major injuries. She’s still only 4 foot tall. It’s not like she can actually take on the Company. And did anyone notice that Claire and Elle see eye to eye. Anatomically, that is. That makes Elle about 4 foot tall.

***SPOILERS BELOW***

I actually think Mohinder has redeemed himself somewhat by putting himself in the best position to make a difference with the virus as Sin has suggested.

Also, I loved that "St. John" was captured on her first attempt at heroics.

Peter may in fact have tried to read Adam's mind. Maybe he queried the wrong things like "Are u telling the truth about the Co. creating the virus and the story he told about them." That stuff is true. Or like Ms. Petrelli, Adam, in his many years, has developed a resistance to some mind reading. (unless Ms. is a mind reader) Also, the revelations that Adam might be the bad guy are very recent and happened at the end of the show so, give Peter time. He has to be confused being that his future visit with his Mother only revealed some of his memories, not all. Remember Peter knows less than we do. Although Peter didn't like the fact that Adam killed Victoria,
Is he gonna trust a woman he just met over Adam who he DOES know created that horrible virus.

So, to the Hiro confrontation. If he had trouble remembering his brother after he met with his mom in the future (viewing picture with Adam), how does he remember Hiro when he sees him. His mom did tell him he met Hiro and gained time travel. So, is he making the assumption that he is Hiro based on what his mom said or does he really remember him? Not convinced he recalled everything of his past when he met with his mom. (Am I getting the order of things mixed up?)

Still think Nathan may be going next episode based on his char. development this season. But I remember his mom saying he died in the first outbreak. Meaning he was around a year from now. However, they are trying to prevent that future.

As for Nikki, maybe she tries to find "St. John/Micah" before she is inoculated and runs out of time.

I'm reaching here, but it is fun. :)

Ok why didn't Hiro think to tell Peter hey I went to the past and saw Adam try to steal the virus and kill everyone and he told my father that all the people deserved to die... instead he goes with I must avenge my father... oh like that's going to win Peter to his side... *smack*

Also , yeah where the hell is Matt?? There's a demented serial killing freak and a plague carrier in his apartment with his child... and he's where???

It is kinda weird but, maybe it is the urgency of the situation. I do remember from last week's previews we see Hiro behind Peter with his sword at Peter's throat. Well, that didn't happen this ep. so I am assuming it will happen next ep. Could be, try to kill Adam first and explain later coupled with swarming emotions of getting the guy that killed his dad. We often see in movies and shows a long talk as two opponents face off. Peter took the offensive Hiro said so much for explaining. In the secs Hiro had to make a decision, he Uhhhhh freaked out. Because Peter for one is supposed to be dead. Hiro knows he has to act fast and may not be sure if that realy is Peter or Peter has been resurrected as evil.

Rat bastards. I knew they were going to kill Nathan. Nikki doesn't bother me so much (though I feel bad for Micah), but they just had to kill off Nathan. Grrr. Arrgh.

And who wants to bet that Noah was the one they sent to kill him? Can't give that guy an even break.

Maybe there's hope for Elle after all. Though I would have liked to at least see her get tortured one more time (sadistic, who me? ).

Adam's punishment was just priceless. Hiro didn't have to kill him, and he can't hurt anyone. Very shiny indeed.

I almost wish they would have killed Sylar. I don't see what they can do with his character at this point. He's getting one-dimensional.

*sigh* No more Heroes for a while. How will we cope?

It was definitely Noah. Although, seeing as you can just inject anyone with anyone's blood in this program as long as they haven't been shot in the head (OH WAIT! Noah was shot in the head ), I reckon they can bring Nathan back.

Don't much see the point of killing Niki. Or the rest of the New Orleans plot line for that matter.

Did it bother anyone else that Elle was on the west coast and suddenly showed up in NYC?

Nathan's already been brought back from the near-dead by Adam's blood. And it was definitely Noah Bennett. At least the shooter leaving the scene walked like Noah. And he did say he had "made a deal" so that his family could live.
Technically, with the revelation about Claire's blood, nobody has to die on this show ever again. So long as everyone has a vial of it handy.
One more thing, they didn't actually show Nikki dying either. Could be she made it out. Not likely but still possible.

Hopefully the writers will let the dead stay dead. While I'm not thrilled with Nathan's death I am more than happy to see Niki finally eat it. As soon as Nathan came up with that plan in the vault I knew he was a goner. I also believe it was Noah who shot him. I wonder if part of the deal was that his family has their memory erased. If not it is likely Claire will come looking for him. Did anyone else have a Lando Calrissian flashback when he talked about "making a deal"?

Mrs. Petrelli spoke as truthfully as she ever has when saying "you've opened Pandora's box". Not only is Peter going to be hellbent on finding Nathan's killer but he will likely attempt to carry out his brother's wishes with regards to secrets.

Peter finally showed how much of a badass he can be storming through Primatech. As he was straining to open the vault I couldn't help but wonder why he simply didn't phase through the door.

Hiro's confinement of Adam may not be as permanent as he is hoping. It didn't appear as though he was buried any further than the standard 6 feet. If that is correct someone will eventually hear him screaming or he may simply dig himself out.

I liked the beginning of volume 3. I kept thinking that they were finally going to dispatch Sylar in this episode especially when Elle showed up. The "I'm back" line after regaining his powers struck me as being funny for some reason.

Well, I hate to say I saw it coming. When they brought Maya back (Why oh why couldn't they just have left her dead!) and Niki was the only one to have seemingly died by the time the show only had a few minutes left it was easy to see that Matt, Peter or Nathan were going to buy it. Peter is too powerful (and will most likely be needed to fight Sylar again), Matt is just starting to get more powerful, and that leaves Nathan who can only fly. Sure Nathan is the person that seems to ground Peter (notice how quickly he convinced Peter to switch sides), but his death will serve as a plot device just as well.

Agreed. I didn't think that the writer's would simply kill him off as they may need him to come back next season or perhaps a season afterwards to be the main villian again. I do think Hiro found a fitting fate for the immortal villian instead of saddling himself with the guilt of actually taking a life.

Me too. I was really hoping Elle would kill him last night, but alas it was not to be. Now he will be back next season and with his powers back it would seem. I do find him very one dimensional. If only they would make him more Doctor Doom like to give him some depth.

Well, there is supposed to be the online adventures of the create a hero contest to get us through until next season. We'll just have to make do until then.

It could be Noah. It seems like something the Company would do, silencing the heroes from going public, and why wouldn't Bob torment Noah by making him the hitman. Makes sense.

I definitely want to see Monica developed more, as well as Micca. I am not so certain Niki is dead. As was pointed out with Claire's blood floating around they can bring anyone back from the dead if they wish. I do hope they leave Nikki dead though as she was beginning to get on my nerves. First she accepts no responsibility for her husband's death, then she buys into the Company's B.S. They just didn't seem to be doing much with her.

Yep, the plan being discussed right in front of the Company surveilance camera not so hidden in the air vent with the big flashing red light that all three heroes somehow missed sure led us to know that the Company would stop them. It also ties into Claire's thwarted attempt to go public which further leads me to believe Noah was the assassin.

Yep, I got the distinct impression she was referring to Peter when she made that statement. Peter will find out who killed Nathan and won't stop until they are brought down. I sure wouldn't want to be in the Company's shoes when he comes gunning for them.

I agree Peter may very well try to follow Nathan's example and try to go public.

Yep, Peter is a badass, and he seems to be getting more comfortable with his powers and their use. I think he will only become more powerful as he gains confidence and experience.

I think he didn't phase through because Adam told him to tear the door down. He seemed to be blindly following Adam's orders up to that point, so why not then? Could be that Adam was testing the limitations of his powers for his own info.

Anyone else bothered by the fact that Peter was willing to kill Hiro by pulling a Darth Vader on him simply on Adam's suggestion? Seems a bit cold blooded for Peter.

Too bad about Nathan. As for Peter, seems to me if I could shoot lightning and fly and bend minds and move through time and telekinese, all in the privacy of my own invisibility, I might just go get the guy that just shot my brother, y'know???? And ain't Parkman a cop, couldn't he have done something other than stand there like a deer in headlights? Can any of these dopes (other than Hiro, of course, the only decent, clear headed, morally solid, emotionally centered adult in the series) "spring into action" like a dang hero should? My goodness but these supers can be a bunch of pinheads sometimes. The saddest thing you can do with a super hero is give him powers that he just doesn't even think to use, just so the plot can advance...

I was really hoping that when ol' Sylar got his power back he would only get HIS power back and have to start from scratch taking folks brains and collecting others' powers. It would be funny if all he could get was the guy who can blow his nose and make bicycles out of the snot, or something, y'know? Change things up a bit. Oh well.

Man, I was all proud coming into the thread where I actually got two things right about this twisting show. But its seems we saw it coming.

Think this was a paygrade move just as much as plot one.

Are we sure Noah shot Nathan? The figure walking away looked tall and slim. Kinda looked like Ms. Pertelli to tell ya the truth. After all, she was willing to sacrifice Peter by givin' the "shot in the head" advice. ...and I know they flashed to her soon afterwards, but...

Overall, I love it!

And yes... there any number of ways for them to bring Nathan or Nikki back even if just for Cameos. With magic blood and super powers and all.

I finally found out why Sylar's can moving and subsequent comment struck me as being so funny. Take special notice of the can he was attempting to move. I'll give you a hint, "I yam what I yam". Absolutely hysterical.

Yeah, I noticed that- they hung on the can long enough for me to get it.

Oh good. I wasn't the only one singing "Popeye The Sailor Man" after the credits rolled.

DRU

According to the previews two heroes were suppose to die. The first was Nikki in the fire. Could the second one be Maya. Didn't she die and was brought back to life by the Claires blood. I don't want Nathan to die. My theory is that Nathan received Adam's blood which cured his scars. Maybe he also now has the ability to regenerate tissue like Claire, Adam and Peter.

I agree with a lot of the comments made about characterization. I think the writers made Peter dumb. Nathan is a lot more savvy than to make his abilities public.

OK so many things I wish to say...but first

*whap* Finn hey she is not 4 feet tall. I am the same height as the actress and we aren't short.. you people are just oversized!!!

That being said... interesting to watch Elle allegiance shift with more information. She's utterly psychotic so Noah should be very careful not to push too hard or fast or he'll be a crispy critter...
I'd suggest that Hiro stick next to Peter, but that'd be the naive leading the even more naive.
I doubt it'll take Adam more than a few weeks to break free... should have entombed him an an abandoned, collapsed mine shaft at the bottom of the ocean...

CYBERSNARK

People (without vampire/Slayer strength, and who need to breathe) can't dig out of graves. Coffins usually have more than just a few inches of soft soil over them. (Sorry Joss, but what we saw in the Buffyverse? Not remotely plausible.)

There was a concrete slab over Adam's coffin, and he has six cubic feet of weight on top of him, just waiting to collapse if he does manage to claw his way through. Also, without air, he'll lapse into stasis until someone else comes to dig him out, and since Hiro is likely the only one who knows where he is. . .

Oh, I dunno, Chris. This season they all seem to have just lost their marbles ('cept HRG and Hiro). My favorite moment from last night was when Elle went after Sylar--that made a lot of sense to me. I was hoping she'd get a little further than she did there, of course. Oh and I found Nikki's heroic sacrifice pretty compelling actually. Funny, a lot of folks have complained about the "wonder twins" but I've found their experiences pretty involving and disturbing--the whole wedding thing was pretty horrific and Sylar playing Iago had some gravity as well. So, I was glad they didn't kill her off and that she was allowed to learn the truth about Gabriel. Oh, and Sylar shooting her made sense. In fact, I'd add Sylar to my short list of folks that didn't go all wonky this season.

Agreeing here- I'll add Claire to that list; I think she stayed herself also.
Wow, when ya boil it down, it's mainly Peter and Mohinder that lost thrusters- though they are vital to the plot.

Love the show Chrisisall

Okay 4 feet may be a little exaggeration. I said after being whapped. But not that much of an exaggeration.

I’m just average size. I dance with a girl who is oversized. She over six foot something and she wears high heels to every dance. I punish her for her freakish size by making her bend down to do underarm turns. It’s funny. But seriously, she could crush me like a bug.

Elle is really one of the more interesting characters. I can sense the good in her. She just wants her fathers affections. And is willing to do anything to get it, but I like the way she reacted to Mohinder complimenting her on saving them. She sort of like the anti-Claire. Where Claire has grown up with a loving family and a strong-will father who sacrificed and fought to protect her, Elle has grown up with little to no family and a father who treated her like crap. They are both naïve and a little dumb, but Claire is strong and independent and Elle is weak and co-dependent. Elle could be turned to the good side with only a little appreciation, but she will always be unpredictable.

Nothing is more unpredictable than the mob, nothing more obscure than public opinion, nothing more deceptive than the whole political system.

That I get, but even for as dense as Peter has been acting lately, to just without hesitation try to strangle Hiro? Just seems a bit out of character for him.

I have wondered this same thing. Was there no police or security at all at this press conference. Why didn't these three knuckleheads suspect that the Company would try to silence them? Why did Pete and Matt just sit there and do nothing. The assassin didn't even run, he simply WALKED out of the building. WTF?!?

Very true and I had considered this fact. Nathan is wounded, but definitely not dead at the end of the episode. Could be they did that for shock value. Plus how much of Adam's blood is still floating around in Nathan's system? Could that heal him or at least keep him from dying until paramedics make the scene?

Made so by (the excellent) Kristen Bell; she could be a great Hero, if she wants to stick around, and the producers want to go that way. Funny- I wanted Elle dead, but with just a hint of goodness, I suddenly want her around for the long haul!
