If you think what he did to Naomi in the series was bad, wait till you see the movie. Both movies are pretty damn good IMO.

Sorry, I missed it before. Now, yeah, great mix of alternate realities but still bites hard into the core of real world issues. Fantastic film. I was actually repainting a marker while home sick (gotta do something when you can't sleep anymore) and happened to see it pop up on one of the cable action channels. Great flick.

Gots mad skillz, loves playing with matches.

STORYMARK

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
The Lion King
Aladdin
The Incredibles
Toy Story 2
Justice League: New Fronteir
Titan: AE

I really love the Batman/Superman movie, but don't really consider it a movie, being just 3 episodes together. A lot of fun, though. And though I really enjoyed the action, I was greatly dissapointed by the story in Superman: Doomsday.

Iroh's Tale is just incredible, in context!

This is the city the great general wasn't able to win, and he's shown helping people in it, down to and especially the inept mugger who he has to give pointers to on his fighting stance!

In the end, we find out it's all about his son, who he's remembering on this day, the one who died in the failed attack on the city. It made me like the character, even more, and understand why he doesn't give up on Zuko.

I love ensemble shows that aren't afraid to dwell on the supporting characters and villians. All of them pleasantly round, as in capable of surprising you...

Yeah, the chemistry between Zuko & Iroh is one of the show's key strengths. I can't wait until we get the second half of S3, when Iroh reappears.

Have "The Western Air Temple" and "The Firebending Masters" aired in the US yet? Canada got them back in January, but we've been on hiatus sice then.

Oh, uh, animated movies: I watched Justice League: The New Frontier last week. A good story, great voice acting (including DB as Hal Jordan), great music. The animation and character designs were good, though I'm not a fan of the whole Silver Age (which puts me outside of Darwin Cooke's target audience with that story. Another cool "Elseworlds" tale.

My biggest complaint is that, after getting David Boreanaz, they proceeded to not have him say the Green Lantern oath! The Ring just activated on its own.

I'm looking forward to Batman: Gotham Knight, mainly because it promises to be in-continuity (and also 'cause I'm an unabashed anime fan).

No, they have not. They're only available via DL (thanks to you guys! ). Nickelodeon hasn't even announced an air date yet.

Mmmmm... good choices all!!

Got's to go with:

Howls Moving Castle

Princess Mononoke

Paprika (yet to watch it, but it looks really GOOD)

Appleseed

Appleseed Ex Machina (dear god!!!)

Karas (pretty pretty death killings )

Ghost in the Shell (the series, the second series, any of the movies... just eat this show up!!)

FMA (the series and the movie just rock my world!!!)

Titan A.E.

Cowboy Bebop (series and movie, again, rock my world!!!)

Black Lagoon

Samurai Champloo

Bleach (the good subbed stuff... not the crappy American voice actors)

Death Note (I gots to go back and re-watch the series now)

FLCL (Fooly Coolie, or Furi Kuri, whichever you prefer to call it. Not quite a movie, hell... not quite a series, but damn good that)

I could go on and on, as (next to Firefly) this is one of my most favorite forms of entertainment media... that and books

Y'all gave me some stuff to check out as well... Akira I've always wanted to see, but haven't ever gotten around to viewing

You may be able to find some copies online, but this was another title Geneon held the license to.

I think they did a pretty good job on the dub of Death Note, fans of BSG may notice a familiar voice.

The Bleach dub is kinda bad...

Geneon is seriously the most loved/hated production company (of Anime) I have.... dear GOD they write/produce addicting, thought provoking, and just plain PRETTY anime!!! But it's so damn hard to find in the states (or at least in Minnesota, where I live) and they don't go in for the free online stuff

Plus they got the whole, "We're gunna produce this, we're gunna produce that... in about 15 billion years" thing goin' on

Then, y'know, there's the whole "Whoops, we're out of business" thing.

(And there needs to be a soundtrack of the Beck English dub. I've tried listening to the Japanese version, but Namikawa's drunk-sounding delivery of deliberately bad English just doesn't cut it. Greg Ayres, OTOH, could sing professionally.)

Damn you Geneon, DAMN YOU!!!

The english dub is soooo much better, Namikawa's singing reminds me of the one ending to Evangelion. *Shudder*

I wish they would make an english soundtrack, the only song I could find dubbed is Face.

Titan AE for sure,

Erm..Ghost In The Shell, The Incredibles, Cowboy BeBop Spike defines cool in that show.

Read a bit futher up some said Samuria Jack, Aku is so funny in that show, and its really cooly made with the wide angles and drawings never being to detailed.

Not the Mandela Effect yet... Hollyweird and other movies are always stealing ideas from each other, sometimes they dont even bother to change titles. The Japan HongKong or comicbook Asia thing, Manga or Japanese animated CG science fiction...change the actors, change a few plot points and you got a new movie.

'Ex-Machina' the concept has been around a few thousand years, an unexpected power or event produced by the machine, a sudden god like drama to decide the final outcome made by machine
a Greek phrase and means literally "a god from a machine."
