Anyone seeing this?

Not me. Sadly, I've pretty much given up on any new Star Wars stuff. Once upon a time, I was a huge, obsessive fan (of the "original" trilogy, that is) but with each new SW installment my disappointment increases.

Just curious if it's as bad as it looks.

I have the 2 Clone Wars cartoon dvds and they're both good. I don't know if this is the same thing, just enhanced. If so I think you'd like them.....much better than the last 2 actual movies.

CYBERSNARK

Folks, the best things to come out of the Prequel era were Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars cartoon and Karen Traviss' Republic Commando novels.

Until now.

This movie incorporates the best of them both, and adds new elements. I have a new favourite Star Wars storyline (yes, better than NJO). The clones have actual personalities, the CIS is actually intimidating, Expanded Universe fans get plenty of subtle Easter Eggs and hints for speculation (Black Sun!), the humour is witty and flows naturally from the situation (as opposed to needing to stop everything to set up a poo joke), Palpatine's manipulations are more subtle than anything Lucas himself could write, and for the first time, I'm actually interested in Anakin's arc as a character!

This is a glimpse at what the Prequels could've been if Lucas had sat back and let someone else do the script.

And there's Ahsoka. Yes, I know, she's a kid and is therefor worse than Jar-Jar and the Ewoks put together, except that she isn't.

Ahsoka adds an element that's been missing from the Prequel universe. Remember what made the OT so fun? The byplay between Han, Leia, and Luke. Even at their best (in the comics and novels, well away from Lucas' crayons), Anakin and Obi-Wan just don't have that wit. Obi-Wan is too much the proper Jedi, and Anakin is so tightly wound that he can't have any real fun. Even Padme is too idealistic and driven.

Ahsoka, OTOH, brings the snark.

Leia would've gotten along great with her.
