I have to go with "TITANIC", the first half of the film is a love story with icky kissing etc, but the second half is Action/Adventure, great combo.

I'm going to microwave a bagel and have sex with it - Peter Griffin

Ladyhawke.

Although the soundtrack is dated and a little jarring, overall it's one of the best.

The moment during twilight where they almost touch hands is both beautiful, and achingly heartbreaking.

Didn't hurt none that Navarre was a laid back, but rather whoopass kinda dude, neither.

Terminator. The first one, obviously.

Not only did Kyle come back in time for Sarah, he sacrificed himself for her and his unborn son. Romance, sacrifice, and tragedy. That's a love story!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

Ahhh, that's a great one...if they could only do a special edition without the 80's riffs, it would be PERFECT!!!!

(But they're not that bad that they ruin the flick...)

Oh I agree! I also like the standards - Sense and Sensibiliy and Pride and Prejudice. Wuthering Heights would be good in the abusive/psychotic relationships category

Benny and Joon! I LOVE that one, Untamed Heart with Christian Slater and Marisa Tomei - get the kleenex!

so you cried...........

It was a beautiful story, and I don't think the guy who wrote Steel Magnolia's would agree it was contrived seeing as how his sister really died.

"As noted in the Special Features on the Steel Magnolias DVD, the story of Steel Magnolias is based on the tragic death of Robert Harling's elder sister, a diabetic. As her best friend and closest sibling, Robert found it very difficult to cope with his loss. He was advised by many of his friends to write about his feelings as a coping method. It began as a short story and evolved into a full length play due to the complexity of the relationships and emotions that existed within the characters. Harling felt it important to include the way the characters utilized humor and light hearted conversations to assist them in coping with the seriousness of the underlying situations. Harling wanted the moviegoers to have a true experience of what his family endured during his sister's hospitalization. One of the ways he did this was by employing the nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff that worked with his sister as characters in the movie portraying their real life roles. Because of the true to life situation, this movie is received by viewers in many different ways.

How 'bout Forrest Gump?

His love of Jenny was Christ-like - unconditional (truly unconditional; he loved her no matter what, where, or when) and complete.
