Good morning fellow coats…..

I was cruising You Tube last evening when I came across a new tv series which will be playing soon on the Showtime channel. “Homeland” is due to premier around Oct/ 2nd 0r 3rd I think ,and is about an American sniper who’s has been freed by Delta Force after being held captive by a terrorist group in the Middle East for several years. He is deemed a hero and brought back to the States for a hero’s welcome, only maybe things aren’t as they should be……

Anyway the show has two of my favorites, Damian Lewis and Morena Baccarin. You remember Damian Lewis from “ Band of Brothers” & “Life” don’t you? I always felt that he would make an excellent rival Firefly captain for Nathan Fillion. Maybe a disillusioned x-unification sgt who is now in competition with Mal and Serenity over the scraps they can get out on the rim.

Also Morena was her usual beautiful self and did a great job in the show. It looks to be very interesting and I am looking forward to catching more. Here’s a link below if you care to take a gander…..run time 56 minutes…..check it out.

You can use keepvid.com to save the youtube video of Heartland. Direct link: http://bit.ly/ruPcqn
The MP4 - 720p choice is a 612.1MB download. There are smaller download options, but I want only the best for Morena Baccarin.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Showtime had a slightly edited version streaming on their site a week or so ago, not sure if it is still there. Pretty good start, although it seemed to me they revealed more than they should have for the pilot.

Direct link to download: http://bit.ly/ruPcqn “Edited” means Morena Baccarin's sex scenes are blurred when Showtime says, “The following program has been edited from its original form. To see the full unedited episode, order Showtime now.”

“Morena Baccarin was very good here too, especially during that sex scene. Plus she doesn't have that hideous short haircut that she did on V, so she's much more attractive here.” - http://weeklytvreview.blogspot.com/2011/09/homeland-review-pilot.html

I'll have to find other outlets, I don't have "Showtime".

Wow...I just sat down to watch five minutes and I watched the whole damn thing... Really great acting, on everybody's part. Props to Morena. Difficult subject matter and she handled it rediculously well with her usual amazing attention to detail and nuance...

I think if it were a movie, I would've paid to have seen it-which is saying something...As it is I don't have Showtime, so somebody tell me how it ends...

Funny to see the kid from my kid's "Electric Company" show, heh, pickin up people in bars.

WishIMay…..I understand totally! I did the same thing. I started watching the show in order to see Morena’s contribution and ended up watching the whole gorram thing. I was impressed more than I thought I would be.

It is amusing, I mean the cycle actors and actresses find themselves in. You work with one college for a season then ten years later you work with them again. I’d love to see Morena guest appear on an episode of “Castile”. Can you imagine the audience that would generate? Not to mention the web-interest the next day!

Anyhoo, like so many browncoats, I find myself following the careers of Firefly alum. Christina Hendricks ( beautiful Madmen actress) guest appeared as Damian Lewis’ potential step-mom in NBC’s short run “LIFE” tv show. Now, Morena is married to him in the Showtime series “ Homeland”. Funny isn’t it, that two former companions, who shared Nathan Fillion as their number one target are now both connected to Damian (BOB) Lewis!

I find myself LOL at the simple-minded folk at F*>< back in 2002 having executed the baby lizard, now having created the DRAGON…

The careers of said actors have taken-off into the stratosphere. Nathan, Morena, Adam, Summer, Alan, Sean, Gina, Jewel & Ron’s popularity have all grown in heaps. Will Universal be able to see this? Will we get a BDM2? A sequel to Serenity or a new Firefly series is not out of the equation….I’d bet to say that these folk (actors) could make someone a load of money if they bring FF back. Just my opinion….

Hey JAYNZTOWN, Don't you have any impulse control at all. Do you intend to corrupt every thread with your obsession with Muslims. This does not belong in general discussions.

Obsession: an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind:

Intrudes on a person’s mind JAYNZTOWN.
Intrudes: To disturb somebody’s peace or privacy by going or being somewhere uninvited.

To be in someone’s mind because they are not in control of their own thoughts JAYNZTOWN.

Watching you post obsessively the same topic in every thread it is apparent to me, Muslims inhabit continually your every thought, concept, and urge. What you are experiencing is invasive and results in significant fear, distress, or discomfort to you.

I suggest you have yourself checked for Obsessive–compulsive disorder. You appear to me to be unable to control either your thoughts or your actions and I see no examples of restraint in your assault on these threads.

JEWELSTAITEFAN

I have more or less avoided Homeland until recent posts reminded me that Morena gets nekkid for 3 years following V.

So I checked it out from the library, and I have a few questions for anybody who has followed the show.
Caveat: the DVDs were scratched and had trouble playing, and they were available out of sequence - third season, then second, then first.
So I may have missed the answers to these queries.

Jessica Brody calls her husband by his (their) last name - Brody. This would be common for buddies in the military, and then this transfers into other situations, but Jessica and Nick met in school as children, and dated then. Does anybody find this weird?

Why does Brody keep switching uniforms, in a straight timeline? He goes from Class A Dress as Gunnery Sergeant with 12 years of service to Dress Blues as Sergeant with 4 years of service, and then back again, repeatedly. This is a serious breach of regulation - Marines are not allowed to wear wrong rank or insignia, whether of greater rank or of lesser rank. And in Marine rank, this is a fluctuation of 2 Staff NCO ranks, whereas with other branches it would be 1 Staff NCO rank.
I did not catch any reason in the story which would explain such bewildering actions. Does anybody know of a valid excuse for this? Or is it just a massive blundering gaff?

For the first 2 seasons, it seems Dana is the most mature member of the Brody family. Then, as Morena no longer gets nekkid in Season 3, Dana does - being a year older than her character.

Does anybody really think that Lynne Reed was found out? Or was she merely the unfortunate vehicle for the transfer of funds? Assuming the Prince was not involved and not aware, I don't see how she was found out. I can understand that Foggy Bottom was mistaken, but then I didn't see them ever mention their mistake, they never seemed to catch on. Or was this some plot twist that I missed, and only Carrie would have been expected to catch it, and she was too self-absorbed about the tragic events?

Note: anybody notice David Marciano at the finale of season one? He's calling out the the agent, named Benton!! In the series Due South, David's Ray Vecchio's best buddy is Constable Benton Fraser. This scene gave me a brief fit.

I would likely not have otherwise seen Supergirl nekkid if not for this first season.

So was it Tom Walker that kept getting into the Washington Monument at night? I don't get that part - who else was turning the lights on and off? Or is there some tradition about The Monument flicking the pinnacle lights on and off at a certain time? I never saw them fluctuate in person, but then I didn't look at it all that much when I was in D.C.

I admit I was very glad when Estes got his due.

And then after posting that I go home and bump across Supergirl, and there is David Estes/Harewood on her show, when I had just reviewed her being on the show where he was the Arch-villian.
