Avoided it, 'til now. For all the parodies and what's been said, hard not to laugh at it.

Especially the Buffy vs Edward remix. Too damn funny.

But to be honest, I do kinda see the appeal. It is what it is, but between Angel and Buffy, Sookie and Bill ( and Eric ), and pretty much every other damn mortal + vampire love saga, I can't blame some for digging this too.

Movies cut out some of the story, and t.v. movies cut out even more, so I'm sure there's a ton of stuff I'm missing. Stuff I really won't bother worrying about.

Sparkly vampires.... I guess they needed to add something new to an old story? Ha ha..what ever.

Did the book ever get into why vamps sparkle in the sunlight ? Or is that just something that's a side effect.

But mainly, why can't Edward read Bella's thoughts?

I guess it's kinda neat that not all vamps have the same sort of powers, that in a way, they're sorta x-men like, with their own unique abilities. Is any of that explained too ?

Didn't watch much of the last half. Started flipping around, and only caught the gist of the rest of the story.

They sparkle because they're actually like crystal golems or something.

Don't look at me, I just read cribnotes on tvtropes. No idea about the individualized powers.

Why can't Edward read Bella's thoughts? ...I think I might refrain from commenting further.

Ha ha. Nicely done.

But it made me think of Sookie and Bill ( and yes, Eric ) , and how this sorta flips the particulars of their relationship.

Oh well.

You'll like Kristen Stewart better in "The Runaways", I caught that on cable a week ago.

She plays Joan Jett ? That ought to be a hoot to watch.

She does a decent job as Joan Jett. Though she's not quite butch enough.

There are four books and I've only read the first one, the others are on the list for later but my booklist and its system is complex and so it will be a long time before I get to them. The first one didn't explain why he can't read her thoughts, I assume that will be revealed later, probably some sort of sappy reason, like because they're soulmates or some such. I don't know, but it makes a relationship between people more fun when they can't read each other's thoughts when one normally can, like in True Blood etc. I only saw the first two episodes of True Blood but that was a good move on their part, probably the same literary device as Twilight there.
