Tom Welling has talked about that. And the thing is that if he were to play Superman, since it's a three-movie deal, that would probably mean the end of Smallville.

However I personally think he would be great as Superman!

What they should really do is wait till Smallville ends and then make the Superman movie. They could make the movie a spin-off of the series. It would show how Clark finally becomes Superman and Lex becomes evil.

a) Christopher Reeve was an unknown when HE was cast in the role. (cast, CAST in the role!)
