He designed not only the Enterprise from Trek 1 - 6, he worked on Back to the Future, the original BSG, Trek's Next Generation, and even designed Airwolf itself!

That's a damned impressive resumé, all right. But when you say "design", my mind immediately goes to GRAPHIC design (sorry, I was an art director and commercial artist for a number of years). And when I think of graphic design, I think of Saul Bass, because I love his style.

He is to TV/Movie design what John Williams is to theme music. It's kind of a pity that most people never get to hear about guys like this. To have worked on so many iconic designs is amazing. Each one is instantly recognisable even to most non-fans.

I remember seeing Airwolf for the first time & loving it- I had no idea that Probert designed it, I didn't even know he designed Enterprise at that point. The guys behind the scene are the ones who drive the visuals, and deserve better recognition up front, IMO! Just like choreographers in an amazing dance or fight movie.
