Universal has announced that it will be producing the Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay as director. I don’t know about you, but the Land of the Lost was a regular staple at the wee Finn household. My understanding is that they will be making the movie as a comedy. I’m thrilled to see a new Land of the Lost movie, but I’m not sure I’m happy about the direction they are taking it. I personally think they should take a more serious tone with it and create a new big budget children’s film in the nature of Harry Potter/Narnia. I would much rather see it reintroduced to a new generation of children, then raped for its nostalgia, like the Duke’s of Hazard.

Thoughts? Anyone else a fan?

Of course all you young whippersnappers with your rock music probably don’t remember the Land of the Lost.

And the greatest earthquake ever known was the 9.5 off the coast of Chile, no where near Colorado, so I think they made that up.

There was also a TV remake of LotL in the 90s (riding on the success of the Jurassic Park movies). It was a pretty entertaining show too.

Yeah, I remember that. I never had the time to watch it. My understanding was that it wasn't a remake but a new version with a different family.
