I'll assume as it's you Chris that you are talking about the original not the remake. I couldn't imagine you going for that one and if it is the remake I would have to lose all my faith in your taste in movies.

As for the original...

Great movie, absolutely fantastic ending and I love the idea of it being a TZ episode. I can just imagine Rod Serling's voice narrating at the end

"A lost astronaut has finally come back home. A home that is in....The Twilight Zone."

But I can't agree with it being a Top 5 movie. There are lots of better sci-fi movies out there IMO. I'd say better movies are Serenity (as you stated), Alien, Aliens, Close Encounters, Blade Runner, Terminator, T2 to name a few that I can think of straight away.

Now if you wanna take just the ending then that definitely would be in the Top 5 of twist endings, no if, buts, or hazy maybe's.
