Another short lived science fiction show.
The model is 25 inches long and only 150 will be built. It is won't be available until December. You can pre-order this for only $1499.95 from Fabgearusa.com.

There is just not a show in the 'verse that I love enough to pay $1499.00 for a model based on that show. Not even Firefly. Sorry.

I do have fond memories of the show "UFO", though.

See this? I paid $32 with shipping plus $6 for additional Testors paint and $6 for batteries.

$44 is a lot less than $1200.

Yowza, that's nuts.

My Buddy Don - it ain't just Star Trek TOS stuff he has (he builds his own, mind, and he's *real* good at it) but also a lot of this kinda thing, I know he has one of these interceptors, some other ship/vehicle from the show, The Flying Sub, Rocket Ship Ajax (Flash Gordon), a whole bunch of that kind of thing - I seriously *covet* his 36" Space Battleship Yamato.

PS. Btw Trav - dunno if I ever mentioned it before, but I always liked Lt Ellis too.

You did a great job with the Enterprise. The one thing I like about the original Enterpise is its clean lines.

UFO had a lot different vehicles. All models. No computer graphics in the 70's.

Thanks. I just 10 minutes ago finished the last detail (the white globes on the rear end of the nacelles). The design is flawless; the paint job was not.

My favourite ship on UFO was the ufo itself!

At 15 I made one out an Apollo capsule model & scraps & hung it by a thread so I could spin it. It really looked good. Wish I still had it, but lots of my stuff got lost in various moves.

Amazing mode! I'd love to have that as well, but my real favorite was always SkyDiver!

I hear they finally came out with a die-cast model of it!
http://fabgearusa.com/diecast_skydiver_from_ufo.html

When I was a kid, I got the Dinky Toys version of the Interceptor, which was painted emerald green, yet they never came out with the SkyDiver, which actually was green!

Oh, I've got the entire series on my hard drive! I keep marvelling at the level of detail & thought put into it, that I was never able to fully appreciate as a kid. It truly is Gerry Anderson's finest project.

And about that fine Enterprise model of yours: Were you able to position the nacelles so that they're parallel with each other, and don't droop? That's the thing I always hated about any Federation starship model.

The model comes assembled, nacelles in perfect alignment! The paint job is the only issue IMO- too light in some parts & too dark on the windows, all easily taken care of by any decent modeler.
Get it; GET IT NOW!!!

Hmmm, it doesn't look all that perfect in this pic: lookit the droopage on that port nacelle!

But I really had thought you'd built up that model from the AMT kit.

That photo really looks more like the AMT kit than the Diamond replica...
No, my nacelles are just right. The AMT kit is good, but not AS good IMO.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Never seen a single episode of UFO, but the model is pretty cool. Still, that price tag is a real punch in the face. For a model? Really? That's nuts.

I LOVE Firefly, but no way am I paying what QMX wants for their Serenity replica. Maybe if I hit the lottery, had my house paid off, kid's college paid for, etc, but even then I would wince at the price tag.

Makes me think of this news show that did a report about a guy who had every item you could lay your hands on dealing with the Simpsons. He had rooms dedicated to all things Simpson. Most items probably cost just a few dollars, but he had hundreds of Simpson artifacts. How his with put up with it astonishes me.
