Yea yea I know its just “Law and Order” with holograms, but I like how its tries to deal with the issues of tomorrow like how your co-workers will react when they learn your genetically enhanced. I think they tried to push the whole future aspect a little too far in the opening credits, 2030 (the year the show takes place in) seems to pop up a lot in the credits, but I guess its for people who didn’t see the 1st episode.

So what does every one think, does this show have a future or is it is going to flop?

A pseudo sci-fi program on CBS?

*sigh*

I'm resisting getting on my high-horse about Beauty and the Beast, simply because it's not the same format.

My advice? Enjoy it while it lasts, and if you really like it, start taping now.

I watched it and liked it very much. It's not the perfect pearl of a show like Firefly was/is but production values, actors, and writing were pretty damn good, IMHO.

In my opinion it is doomed.

Sorry to be dramatic, but the legal angles are going to run out fast; the interpersonal angles were weak, and the whole thing felt like a mid season replacement....oh, wait. It was.

Seriously, it felt like a tepid, tossed together mess of L.A. Law and Outer Limits. Even the timeline is poorly thought out; for the boyband to be 72 in 2030, they'd have to be 46 now...so they would have been big in around 1978. With their big hits said to have been in (I think) 2006, they would have been 48 when appealing to teeny boppers. Which is morbid and creepifying.

For stuff like this to be on tv and to be well promoted while Firefly is not makes me sad. That and the low response for Wonderfalls, which is a GOOD show.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I watched it, was not that impressed. I fear it will quickly devolve into yet another ho-hum court drama with just token futuristic references. But I will continue to watch for a few more weeks to see how it goes, and I have always liked Hector Elizondo. We sure could use some good SF on tv these days.

I won't spoil it for anyone, but I thought it was extremely dumb of them to reveal a supposed secret about one of the main characters in the first episode. They should have dropped hints about it for at least three or four eps before mentioning it.

Contrast that with Firefly. Perhaps after a full season we might have learned a bit of either Book or Inara's backstory, but we are still in the dark for now.

Damn, the pilot was on last night and I didn't realize.
Nevermind, there is an ep on this Saturday at 10 pm, so I'll give it a try.
Thanks for the heads up. I always like to hear about other shows worth trying. Nothing can be as bad as Elimidate (which truth to be told, I have never seen).

I watched it. Thought it was ok, i'm hoping the next episode is better. I always give new shows 5 chances to win me over. After five eps and it still doesn't do anything for me, I stop watching.

Yeah, the show was...okay. I think it'd have been cooler if it actually was Law & Order: 2030. As someone said, they'll quickly run out of futuristic scenarios - every thing in this episode had to do with genetics. They'll need more than a cool setting to be a winning show.

Variety reported today that Century City had the lowest ratings of any CBS premiere of the last five years.
