Which is a better design? Which do you have/want a model of?
Which gives you that warm, fuzzy engineering feeling when you look at it?

Bottom line; which is cooler? Original, or New Series?

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

The 'new' Viper looks stealthier, with a lower profile and all.

As much as I love the original design, my love for the functionality and feel for the newer version...I'd go w/ the update.

As I said in the other thread it's a close call but my heart goes with the original. The newer one is sleeker and looks fantastic but there is just something about the original that looks tough. It looks like it can take a battering and still keep going at a fast speed and get you safely home.
And just to state the obvious point in that we wouldn't have the newer one without the original.

Plus, to keep going on the original vs. new deabate which of the others do you prefer in these categories?

Cylon Raiders - New (just).
Cylon Basestar - New from an exterior POV.
Galactica - Old except for when the new one jumps, especially the jump into New Capricas atmosphere.
Colonial Warrior uniforms - New. They seem more appropriate, more functional, especially the helmets.
Cylon Centurions - New again as they were more of a threat and less cumbersome. Plus they obvoiusly weren't men dressed in gear.

In that case, I've always been partial to:

Yes, I know that the official name for the F-16 is "Fighting Falcon", but the unofficial nickname is the "Viper"...inspired in part by a certain '70s SciFi show.

And where is the Mk VII love?

My model of it is still tops, and so collectible as to be tantalizing!
I can only find this:

When I was younger I always wanted the Galactica model (and other BSG ones) but could never find it. I did collect some of the figures though (Star Wars size) and built myself a couple of the sets out of Lego, which I know you're a fan of. I had a basic looking Viper, Raider, the Galatica bridge and a small hangar/launch tube that the Viper could fit into. All sized for the figures.
In my mind they were great but probably highly innacurate in reality and by what could be achieved today.
