Though I kinda wish it was true cause even if the third one was a stinker they were still more good than bad IMO.

Who needs Matrix 4? The same excess of computer special effects as Matrix 2 & 3 can be found in India's costliest film, Endhiran ( Robot ), dubbed in Russian. www.imdb.com/title/tt1305797/

“The majority of the film’s large budget went into the final action sequence, and it shows. It’s an impressive battle, clearly inspired by the Hollywood blockbuster Transformers in terms of scale and destruction. Sure, it’s kind of silly, but it’s an incredibly fun sequence that’s worth experiencing on the big screen.” - http://accessbollywood.wordpress.com/2010/10/02/movie-review-enthiran-

THE FINAL ACTION SEQUENCE OF ROBOT:

“The thing about the Indian style of filmmaking - which seems to be based on the idea of giving audiences everything they might want in a movie in every movie, thus creating Frankenstein monsters like this three-hour musical sci-fi adventure romantic comedy - is that at some point, so long as the folks involved are relatively capable, the filmmaker will either hit on something he does well or will combine things in a way that creates something as new and exciting as it is bizarre.” - http://efilmcritic.com/review.php?movie=21693

That was fairly crummy CGI really. The action is pretty lame as well. I mean at least the matrix has a lot of choreographed fighting. This is just people falling down from pretend bullets. It's like comparing a cartoon with Avatar and saying the special effects are about the same.

Most of the money for Robot was spent on costumes for the dance routines. I think they did really well with only the equivalent of US$40,000,000 for a 3 hour movie. The movie Little Fockers spent 2½ times that much to get Barbra Streisand to play Mother Focker. - www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=meetthefockerssequel.htm

And besides, Matrix's Keanu Reeves has zero charisma compared to Robot's Rajnikanth. Actually, Keanu Neo has null charisma, period.

I don't care who spent how much. Still don't want to watch 2 hours of that.

Decent enough FX for the budget, but it's just a bit too cheese-tastic for me.

Though I will say I can't stand the big Neo vs hundreds of agent Smith's in Reloaded when it goes all CGI. That CGI is so horrible by today's standards that it's just jarring. I'd actually buy another DVD if they'd update that part with some better effects.

I don't get bothered by that stuff. 95% of the time, the best CG will look dated in a few years, especially stuff from then, that was on the cutting edge.

Just the same way I don't get bothered by hinky stop motion in films from the pre-CG days.

The way the scene goes back and forth from live action to CGI sure doesn't help. It's just such a stark difference. Plus the action in that scene isn't very interesting to me anyway. The reality of it is that a hundred agent Smiths should be able to beat Neo pretty easily. The fight was just silly. Probably the worst part of Reloaded to me. I'd much rather have seen him fight 1 Smith fairly easily then add another and have it look really close. Then a third show up and have Neo barely run away. Then we'd be back to having a credible threat for Neo in the matrix and it wouldn't be so over the top.

Yep, that's a much better reason that the scene didn't work.

I agree. That scene did not advance the story, except of course for when he talked with the Oracle. The scene you describe sounds much simpler. Less is more. The W's forgot that cardinal rule.

I heard, years back, that it was a possibility. I just hope that the W brothers put together a good script, that last one Revolutions was soooo bad that it sucked elephant balls. Fighting for, what seemed like an hour, with Agent Smith in the rain made it seem like they didn't know how to end it. Anyways, my inner geek is getting tingles already.

For those who think Neo is dead, rewatch the first 10 minutes of The Matrix. There you will find your answer.
