There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

For anyone interested in SF literature (or movies and TV, since they are nominated too), and if you're not actually in Reno at the World Science Fiction convention right now, you can get the chance to see the presentation of the Hugo Awards tonight.

They will be streamed live, beginning at approximately 8PM Pacific Daylight Time, at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/worldcon1 . There will also be multiple text updates via various Twitter feeds.

Full information on the Worldcon website - http://www.renovationsf.org/hugo-ceremony.php

For the novel award, I am rooting for Connie Willis to win for Blackout/All Clear, her dual-novel series which won the Nebula earlier this year. I think it is her best work yet. The only one I think has a chance to win out over it is Lois McMaster Bujold for Cryoburn, which I have but haven't read yet. It is the latest addition to her Miles Vorkosigan saga, and there is a precedent set that readers like her work a lot. She has already won four Best Novel Hugos, which tied the record held by Robert Heinlein which had stood for nearly forty years.

BTW, a little bit of self promotion here. I've recently read and reviewed Blackout/All Clear for my site - http://templetongate.net/blackout.htm
