On a lighter note...

I got to sub in for the Easter Bunny on Saturday morning, heh.

I was going to drop off some "alternative" candy to an event cause I know where to find sugar-free, carob-based and other types of goodies for folks with dietary issues which are still palatable, cause I am of the opinion no one should have to forgo candy - being something of a hedonist it offends me in a mild sort of way that anyone would lack for candy on Easter, right ?

About a quarter of the way there I get a call, and pull off to answer it cause I don't have a hands-free, do NOT like to talk on that damn cell while trying to drive, and I needed gas anyways...
Come to find out the chick who was gonna do the (full costume) Easter Bunny got into a bit of a fender bender, no injuries thankfully, and they wanted me to give her a lift if possible, which wasn't due to a fracas with her insurance company and the local police & towing company being singularly uncooperative, so her being about my size I offered to take the costume and fill in for her, which I wound up doing.

Man that thing must be an oven when it's hot - I wonder how the Disney people stand it, wasn't too bad since it was a mite chilly out but still, maybe it needed better airflow or something, and trying to see out of it weren't easy neither, I was a bit afraid of accidently stepping on a munchkin, but it all worked out - there were a few kids present who were very MUCH gratified to have goodies which met their dietary needs, although nobody told me the lady I was replacing could juggle, how she does so in that costume I've no idea, but I distracted them with a few old school sleight of hand magic tricks instead, so it all worked out okay.

I also showed Wendy something I haven't done in a long time, how to do blown-egg art, which got me snarked at (See, I knew you were a blowhard!) but was fun as well - blowing them and painting them is easy, but I pulled out my craft knives and did a cut-away on one, glued some googly-eyes to a bit of yellow fluff and stuffed it in here, and a double cut-away on another to make a little basket and put some jellybeans in it - she was fascinated.
And of course, waste-not-want not, Eggs Lorraine for afters.

Oh, and someone left me a fairly hefty box of jellybeans on my doorstep, too, heh.

Does the Easter Bunny come on Saturday in the US? Or are you just being unconventional.

We had a pleasant easter with lots of chocolate, family and food.

Happy Easter to all! Hoping everyone had a nice day today.

Prediction: Byte will hurry to the store after work tomorrow and load up on 50 percent off Peeps et al. :)

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.

I'm more of a chocolate person than a marshmallow person. My dad likes them though. He lets them get stale for some reason first, I guess he likes them crunchy instead of chewy.

I'm picturing Frem in a rabbit outfit with a contingent of girls in bunny ears and bikinis. All hail the bunny lord, king of easter candy and priest of fertility rites.

They held the event on Saturday so as not to conflict with religious observations and for the scheduling convenience, far as I know - but I don't hold to any particular time or date for holiday stuff anyways since I work holidays and generally do that stuff before/after.

Oh, and aye, I like my marshmallows that way too, I dun like em too fluffy.
LMAO, don't stick me with the bunnygirls too, nooooo!
Hell, I'm already technically queen of the catgirl horde via having to watch em back when I did conventions and their parents were too drunk to do so.
What scored that title was absolutely DECKING a vendor for making crude/obscene/threatening comments to a couple of em, thankfully before their dad got there and did maybe worse!

Speakin of easter candy, imma give it a day or two, and the clearance rack is MIIIINE, bwaahhahah!

Costumes, somethin I know a little about... I had several family members do the costuming gig long term as they were the right height and had nice legs ( which I was not lucky enough to get
Some of the larger nicer enclosed costumes have battery packs with fans, but for the most part at places like Disney the actors work only in the shade and for about ten minutes at a time... Most professional costume gigs also require a helper to go with them, mainly for safety and insurance reasons, and depending on the gig- are not allowed by contract to speak unless there is an emergency... I was the helper for most of my Jr High years, and loved it... I got to go to concerts and grocery store openings and all kinds of things
