Heard that Fleetwood Mac was on tour, and all the original band members were on board.

I always sorta liked their music, but not so much that I'd considered myself a FAN. Stevie Nicks has always grabbed my attention some, but on a casual level. I remember really liking the song Leather and Lace, back in the day.

And yet, she continues to keep at it, still sounding and looking good. Seriously, does anyone know how she does it? IS she really a witch ? lol

The "original" Fleetwood Mac didn't have Stevie Nicks or Lindsey Buckingham. Bob Welch sang leads with Christine McVie until he left the band for a solo career. He died a few years ago. When he left, Stevie and Lindsey joined the band, and the first album of the "new" Fleetwood Mac sent them all on their way to superstardom.

As for Stevie, I can't imagine her not looking great at any age. And related to the subject, Olivia Newton John will be headlining a new nightly show in Las Vegas starting at the end of April. She looks pretty amazing as well. Definitely still someone you'd want to "get physical" with.

And then I saw our favorite Brady Kid, Maureen McCormick recently on a comedy roast and I thought she still looked hot!

note : Stevie sang Leather and Lace with Don Henley. Tom Petty played guitar and sang on Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, perhaps the best rock video ever made.

Go back further than that, to the ORIGINAL, original Fleetwood Mac, which was founded by Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Jeremy Spencer. They were a staight-up British blues band in the beginning, which very few people realize or remember. Peter Green left after their third album, and Danny Kirwan had already joined before that. Then Spencer left and Christine Perfect (later McVie) joined, then later Bob Welch and Lindsay Buckingham. Stevie Nicks wasn't with them until their tenth album in 1975, but by that time they had become so pop oriented that I lost interest.

^ Well ok then, the ORIGINAL original band! I first heard of Fleetwood Mac with their self-titled album that had 'Over My Head' and 'Landslide'. I liked every song on that album and thought it was a masterpiece. I knew the band had been around since the 60's so I bought some of their earlier pre-Stevie Nicks albums, and I even bought a Christine Perfect album. Some of the songs were really great, as good or better than even on the new album. I guess I wasn't all that interested at the time in the personnel. Thanks for the history lesson.

Right, it was w/ Don Henley. Thanks for the correction. Another great duet w/ Stevie.

Their very first album in 1968 was originally titled "Fleetwood Mac," but was later renamed "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" to distinguish it from the '75 release.

Maybe not by the industry as it once was, but the artists themselves are doing their own thing on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the like. In fact, it's probably easier to keep up with what's new in music now than it ever has been.
